After I said that if we formed a third party we’d never, ever win another presidential election, EVER, I received quite a few letters from readers who think differently. Here’s a typical one...

From Stephen R:

You say that you’re against a third party and that we’d never again win an election if that happens. I totally disagree! If we abandon the Republican Party in major numbers with the right candidate, I think we’d stand a better chance rather than having the same old s*** on the menu!

What chance will the Republicans have when most of us are totally fed up with the crap that we’ve listened to for years and nothing changing (excluding President Trump)! The rest of them are just filling a seat and going along with the Democrat BS! They talk a good line when in front of the cameras, but go along with the Dems behind closed doors and to hell with their constituents! What good will the Republican Party be when 2/3 of us will not vote for another Republican candidate? I’ll vote Democrat just to remove these spineless cowards that are in office trying to say that they have our backs!!! I’m done!!!!

From the Gov:

Thanks for writing, Stephen. Obviously, our party has reached a crossroads, and it’s critically important how we decide to go forward from this point. But if I may offer some “famous last words,” I can think of none more appropriate than what you just said: “I’ll vote Democrat just to remove these spineless cowards...”

Vote Democrat? With all due respect, Stephen, I have six words for you:

Are you out of your mind?

The reason we have such a disaster in the U.S. Senate now is that Georgia Republicans, fed up by the Nov. 3 outcome, refused to vote Republican, staying home on the day of the senatorial run-off elections and giving their state two of the most radical left-wing senators ever to be on the ballot, and that’s saying something. We know now that if they had come out for the Republican candidates in numbers comparable to their November 3 turnout, they would have kept the Senate out of the hands of radical leftists. Gosh, I hope all those fed-up conservative Georgia voters are happy now.

Let’s do some basic math. Right now, the two major parties, in terms of numbers, are pretty evenly split. If the 2/3 of Republicans who, as you say, are thoroughly fed up and refuse to vote for another Republican DO vote for a third party candidate instead, that will give the third party candidate a whopping 2/3 of what the anti-Democrat vote would have been otherwise. The Republican gets the other 1/3. These two parties will split about half the total vote.

But the Democrats get almost all of the other half, which means they WIN, as all they need is a plurality. Obviously, 1/3 of the Republican vote isn’t going to get us squat. But even 2/3 of that vote isn’t going to get us squat, either. One thing about Democrats: they do stick together. And if they stick together and we fragment, with no more than 2/3 of our vote going to any one candidate, guess which party wins?

That’s right, the Democrats, every time. Go to the head of the class.

When Democrat Party candidate Bill Clinton won in 1992, he got a whopping 43 percent of the popular vote. The other two major candidates, Republican incumbent George H. W. Bush and Independent Party candidate and Texas billionaire H. Ross Perot, essentially split the rest; that “giant sucking sound” you heard was Perot sucking up 19 percent of the vote (the most a third party candidate has ever received, but it translated into ZERO electoral votes). So victory went to Clinton, the Democrat. Some analysts said that Clinton would’ve beaten Bush anyway, but we don’t know about that. A huge number of conservative Republicans rejected a second Bush term and voted for Perot, giving us the Democrats.

Let’s go farther back in history, to when former President Teddy Roosevelt tried a comeback with a third party, the Bull Moose Party. In 1912, a group of Republicans dissatisfied with President William Howard Taft formed the Bull Moose Party specifically for TR to run again. (He supposedly had said he was “fit as a bull moose” to run again.) The Bull Moose Party was “progressive” for the time and favored such new-fangled ideas as women’s suffrage, direct election of U.S. senators, and various social reforms. Roosevelt ran on what he called the “Square Deal,” based on fair business competition and more welfare programs for the needy.

Anyway, his candidacy divided the Republican Party, and Democrat Woodrow Wilson easily won. Would you like to hear about Woodrow Wilson and his administration? That’s a topic for another day, but for now let’s just say it would have been much better if TR hadn’t divided the Republican Party and let Wilson and his pals glide into the Oval Office.

Things the left would love to see from us:

1) An uprising. In fact, the Capitol breach played into their hands so well that if it hadn’t happened, they would have had to create it; make of that statement what you will. The Capitol incident gave the left all the excuse they needed to label every one of us a “domestic terrorist” and start taking our rights away. As frustrated as you might be, DO NOT give them any more reason to do that. Believe me, they are just waiting for this.

2) A third party. The left would LOVE this. Aside from the reasons mentioned above, a third party is not going to have the “ground game” of the well-oiled machine that is the Democrat Party. All this will do is split the Republican Party vote and ensure Democrat victories time after time. I know many of you don’t want to hear this, but it’s the hard truth.

3) Giving up. Some conservatives are now saying the fight is over and we have lost. Why bother voting if the elections are rigged? Why bother tweeting if you’ll just be banned? Just stay home and wait for the end. But this would be a gift to the left. When you give up, they push even harder.

We have to fix our party, from the inside. We do have a few outstanding incumbents, but for the RINOS, we have to find solid, articulate conservative candidates for primary challenges. That’s what the “progressives” in the Democrat Party did, through organizations such as Justice Democrats, the group that recruited AOC. Democrats organize like mad, and if they aren’t satisfied with their incumbents, they challenge them. This is what we’re going to have to do with our own who fail to represent our views and values. Perhaps Trump could help with this. We must go into every race with the strongest ticket we can find, work like our freedom depends on it (because it does) and be assertive poll watchers!

But, again, the worst thing conservatives can do is split off and form a third party. Don’t even think about it!

Our two party system is broken and had not worked for over 20plus years. They hate each other. Both sides are losing members. While non party indipendents numbers are growing. The rise of a strong 3rd party would moves into a more parlormentry style of government

Wouldn't there have to be a "second" party before we can have a "third" party? As I see it, we only have a one-party system which is ran by Demoncrats with a majority support from lukewarm Repukeblicans. It’s all a ONE-party system that has been overtaken by “elistists/establishments” pretending to be two different parties. What Trump's presidency did was expose it. What we need is a two-party system. If the 70+ millions who voted for Trump would "stick together by only supporting REAL conservatives" and stop listening to so-called right-wing media/pundits and republican politicians whining and never offering or working on solutions, I believe we can disband the so-called republican party from within and continue building the MAGA "Patriot" party as a "second" party .
I think it's disheartening to keep blaming the voters in Georgia for where we are today with the senate….but then again, repukeblicans blaming their voters is nothing "new." It's never the repukeblican politicians fault, even when we put them in total control. They just keep coming up with excuses why they can't do what they promise and then blame their voters when we refuse to let them keep abusing us by keeping them in power. Repukeblican politicians stand with each other--not with their voters. Trump stands with the voters--not the politicians.
Georgia voters had it right, unlike most demoncrat voters who are uninformed and gullible, conservative voters are well informed and smart. Smart enough to know that it wouldn't have made any difference if Loeffler/Purdue had won because there will always be enough repukeblicans standing with demoncrats to keep Trump's agenda from moving forth (e.g., obamacare vote and so much more). After all, as soon as trouble resulted from the Capitol breach, who was one of the first to go back on her word & abandoned Trump?—Kelly Loeffler. Not to mention McConnell, Graham & Blackburn.
Case in point, just do the math in regards to the scam impeachment (which the Demoncrats/media are using as a PLOY to distract from covering/discussing the proven documentation of the stolen election), six repukeblicans stand with the demoncrats on what is "obviously" unconstitutional. Based on my calculation, if Loeffler/Purdue had won, we would still be where we are now (46-R to 54-Demons)—holding an unconstitiutional impeachment scam. Even if the Capitol hadn’t been breached, we would still be where we are today, under the disguise that President Trump tried to pressure Georgia's Sec of State to give him votes.

Mike, I’ve been reading on the idea of splitting off from GOP or stopping my vote. After my head cooled to reason I thot of the 5 Indian Tribes that formed a confederation. The example was a handful of sticks is stronger together than a single stick. After all we conservative people have been working to make the GOP a true liberty living and loving party so are we gonna throw up our hands and go home or train some more, get new recruits and go at the game again. I’m sticking w/GOP and letting my cooler head do the deciding. (Not sure about specifics of that Indian story, at 70 my memory is fuzzy sometimes w/details.)

I get to disagree with Mike! I believe 1/3rd of the DEMs would go to the new party. I know 10 DEMs that would never vote for a Republican that voted for Trump. I think they would join another party led by Trump.

Dear Mr.Huckabee, Thankyou for your newsletter and your amazing insight. Many of us are very disillusioned with the republican party and see the republicans as weak and backstabbers. Many of them don’t seem to truly support what President Trump tried to accomplish, you can just see it now that he isn’t in the White House. We don’t trust them and very angry with those who turned their backs on the President so how can we continue supporting this party. I’m pretty sure some republicans want him to be gone and maybe think they can carry on what he started but none have his tenacity, ideas and love for America.

    Hi Governor,

I am a Republican from Pennsylvania. I have several words for you, eh hem, names: Liz Cheney, Anthony Gonzalez, Jamie Herrera-Beutler, John Katko, Adam Kinzinger, Peter Meijer, Dan Newhouse, Tom Rice, Fred Upton, David Valadao, Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, Ben Sasse, Pat Toomey, and Mitt Romney. 15 Republicans, one of them from PA, who voted for the charade of the current Impeachment. These are the people who INCITE the Republicans to leave the GOP and look elsewhere like a third party, join a different Party, or stay home from voting. We had a President that brought this Country back to being profitable and respectable. These 15 people betrayed all of us. I know that splitting the Party would give the Democrats virtual wins, but when you have these 15 people going against one of the best Presidents I have see in my lifetime (and I am pushing 60), the GOP is doomed anyway. I am from PA. I can vote Toomey out, although he is retiring so I won't have to, but if there isn't any candidate that would support Trump if he runs for President again in 2024 or would support the movement he started, MAGA, then what's the use. I can't vote to replace the people in the states where these people are from; not to mention depending on when they would be up for re-election, it may be another 4-6 years till they can be replaced. With all due respect, we ARE not like the Democrats and vote like lemmings. But because we don't vote like Lemmings, we wind up shooting ourselves in the foot every time. The Establishment Republicans is defeating the Constitutional movement within the GOP. If they are re-elected or they are replaced by another Establishment Republican, we are spinning our wheels and going nowhere. Look what happen to the Tea Party. The GOP adsorbed them and the GOP is split anyway! These Republicans and the Election Fraud that occurred and the Republicans that will not accept or acknowledge the Fraud and have dismissed the Fraud (especially that of the Constitution and by principle via manipulative voting machines and software) and have not pushed to see the evidence during the time we had to see the evidence before the inauguration, as well as even today (which by reading your newsletter sounds like you are in that boat) is what's killing the GOP; why Republicans want out. We are screwed either way! I am a fellow Christian and love you in Christ. I find it hard to believe that people like Lin Wood who is a fellow Christian and believes that he would go to Hell if he told a lie, would lie about the evidence he has concerning the Election Fraud. As well as Mike Lindell, who is another Christian, who is trying to get the evidence out there for people to see the Fraud, and is not getting support from the Christians or the GOP. Sidney Powell whom I have no idea is a Christian or not, but would put the incredible reputation that she had and has from representing ret. Gen. Mike Flynn and winning his case, on the line if she didn't have credible evidence! No GOP in the Senate or House wants to hear the evidence. They just accepted the Fraudulent results. People say where's the evidence? Well, these people say they have the evidence, yet I'm not seeing any Republican Senators or Representatives demanding hearings of the evidence. HR1 will kill all this evidence and we will be doomed anyway!

You're absolutely on it here. The way Republican voters should approach this is by being more discerning, and more involved. Voter apathy is the opposite of how we can make change. The reason for supporting republican officials gets more clear and more important with each passing year. We simply need to clean the slag from the party. Still, if you like life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness......Vote republican......Never democrat.

Gov. M. Huckabee - where have all the patriot conservative Republicans gone ? To side with the liberal left socialist DemoRat scum and want to be part of the elitist establishment to keep the dollars rolling into their pockets on the backs of the patriot conservative taxpayer. We need a conservative patriot republic party to get the U.S.A. back to sanity in the government. I for one will never support the republican party again after the election fiasco. They had more than a year to get it right but it didn't matter to them as long as they held their positions in government. It makes me angry to see them snuggle up to their DemoRat counterpart. I would vote for a new leader in a new party but will do diligent research on the parties participants to see if they love America's God given Constitution and respect for human innocent baby life. Governor Huckabee: I have been a supporter since you ran for President, actually before that. I appreciate your candid / conservative approach to the key issues. I read the article on NO THIRD PARTY. I let several conservative friends in Alaska, where I live look at it as well. We have come to the conclusion that both the Democratic party & the Republican parties have let us down. Neither party is really representing Americas best interests. Both parties have lost their minds on crazy excessive spending. We see the point of view that creation of a third party could further divide us. Right now it appears we're in great peril as a society, We were a divided society up until the election, now we are a fractured society. We may not be able to put Humpty Dumpty, together again? If both parties do not move back to the center and form a more centrist government where the players can learn to play nice and truly represent all of America, for a change. Then we are then in a great deal of trouble and I can only imagine the devisive scenarios that may unfold?? My wife and I are both stranded in the Philippines ( our 2nd Home) due to covid travel restrictions but try to stay up on important issues, and your Newsletter helps us do that. Thanks for the opportunity to share our concerns.

Joining a Trump Political Party sounds very intriguing, and I would be inclined to join but it would ensure another Democratic victory; we may not outlive this one. I must give the Democrats their due, they stick together like glue, regardless. I first noticed this when 100 members of Congress stood side by side with Bill Clinton in the Rose Garden, while he was being impeached. I thought, how could they support him when he has committed a crime as well as multiple breaches of moral conduct, but they stood with him regardless. They stood arm in arm ready to go down with the ship.
But alas, many Republicans will run and hide when the first shot is fired, and I know what shots whizzing by your head sound like having spent 18 months in Vietnam. For the most part, I would not want some of them backing me up in a foxhole, I think some of them are out and out cowards.
If we are going to Make America Great Again, and I believe we can, we have to get tough on wimpy RINO’s, sponsor an alternate conservative candidate and force them out of politics. Take no prisoners!!
The Romney’s, Collins, McClusky’s, et al, need to be beaten at their next election. Get rid of them while we can still salvage our country.
Most of us are still backing President Trump and will continue to do so, at least to the midterm elections. If the Republicans lay down and whimper at midterm, I’ll be moving on to the Trump or Tea party. I will not be betrayed by Republican cowards any longer; and, I don’t think I will be alone.

If people don’t vote the Democratic Party wins however we need to revamp the Republicans getting rid of all the 50 year politicians and replace them with candidates that are willing to stand and fight fir our freedom. Sadly too many are easily bought off when they reach Washington

Dear Governor Huckabee, You are assuming that there will be true elections, that people's votes will be counted as a Free America has had. There was so much fraud that swayed the Nov. 3 election and I believe the Georgia run off as well. Both were cases of stolen elections. Democrats would do anything to get the power. If you need some more info, just watch "Absolute Proof" put together by Mike Lindell. Just go to www.michaeljlindell.com to see the Documentary. Some reform is needed, however I don't know at this point if there will be a fair election again. Time will tell. Thanks for all your thoughts.

In the 2020 election, Trump supporters came out in record numbers and voted him in with landslide numbers, only to be robbed by voter fraud. No matter how many voters got out to vote for Republicans in Georgia, the Democrats would have just manufactured more and more ballots. We KNOW this is happening and nothing is being done about it (just the opposite, in fact). What good will it do to keep fighting? The Democrats are going to continue to cheat because they got away with it with no consequences whatsoever. Don't say there wasn't evidence - there surely was!

You don't have to look as far back as Bill Clinton, just look at Hillary's run. She blames Trump for why she didn't win, but the actual culprit was BERNIE. For those who didn't want Hillary in office, they voted for Bernie, essentially taking her vote. She's been blaming the wrong party for 4 years. And she couldn't win even when her election was rigged.

Amen, Mr. Huckabee. I read every word and most links, in your newsletter, (I am banned from Fakebook another week) but follow you faithfully. I am as fed up as the next Republican and want to know how to help, remove Pat Toomey, as my PA Republican Senator in Washington. He is the saddest excuse, next to Romney, as a Republican's rep can get. I have never voted for him and never would. I realize that what you say is true. When I can't bring myself to vote Republican I vote for the Independent or Libertarian. (which in turn isn't helping my cause) I admit I voted Democrat a few times because the Republican wasn't worthy of my vote but in the end my country paid for it. I am remorseful and will never do it again. Besides becoming a poll watcher what else can I do? I'm not interested in becoming an actual representative (way to many skeletons for that world and to big a heart) but I am tired of PA politics and know they need change. Please keep doing the work you do, I rely on your words for my news.

I disagree. A third party is very much needed. With 74 million plus supporting Trump, how many more from the democrat side are also fed up with their democrat cronies? Even from your newsletters I have read about democrats that are in complete disagreement with their party's policies. Ross Perot threw the towel in too early (yes, I realize that was his second run and second loss), but he most likely would have easily won on a third try. We can't change the current republicans as too many times when others try to oppose a current sitting politician, the party has a habit of supporting the one already in office.

I am all for a new party as I am done with politics as usual and my voice is not heard or considered.

Mike, I like you but I disagree with your analogy of the Ga. Senate race. It may have been unintentional but to say if the republican voters had just come out we could have stopped the democrats from winning. Mike I think the point you and others are missing is simply it was not because of the republican voters! It was because of the republican party and those elected who failed the supporters of the republican party. Lets put the blame where it belongs, This is nothing new. We all know we have weak republicans in office who get re-elected time and time again only to continue to be the same weak republican. The Republican party keeps backing the same ones over and over. Time for the party to stand up!! Show the incumbent you will not be supported by the party based on "I'm the incumbent !" but rather if they stand on the grounds and beliefs of the republican party. Mitt should not even be in this party!! We have to many 10th round republicans, they want to fight for us at election time then not so much. Republicans should learn that the democrats STICK TOGETHER ! The REPUBLICAN'S FALL APART! There is our problem!! I'm a 40 year member and yes I'm pissed at the party! There are just a few I will support in a re-election bid. The rest I will not in the primary's and if they win that I simply will not vote for them at all! I and others see them as back stabbers! So if the republican's want to win again DON'T BLAME THE VOTERS blame yourselves and FIX IT. Were not excepting smoke and mirrors anymore. Those who need to go you know who you are! Do us all a favor and leave! THAT'S HOW YOU SAVE THE PARTY. I don't want to hear blame the voters again! OR I WILL WALK AWAY! See how that works out for the RINOS!

  • Ray E Agenbroad

I agree with you. I also remember when Ralph Nader started the Green Party and how happy conservatives were. We do have a lot of senators and congressmen that are RINOS and part of the swamp. It is time to get rid of them and term limits would go a long way in doing that.

I understand division in light of a 3rd party, so let's ditch the current Republican party. The Republican party we once knew has been infiltrated by liberal ideology (insert Romney and Graham. Still hopeful for Sen. Scott). Patriots want an end to abortion, uphold our constitution and Bill of rights, border security, legal path to citizenship (legal immigrants also desire this), and job security with better economy and GDP increases, just to name a few. Our schools are inundated with tyrannical left wing ideology. Every major city in America is run by leftist thugs. One of my grandsons has to be homeschooled due to his being immunocompromised in light of covid. Every day begins with the pledge of allegiance. About 3 weeks ago my daughter turned on his computer and found God and indivisibilty had been removed. This is not the America my forefathers fought for and died for.
P.S. Prayers for Sarah's election as Governor of Arkansas and for our nation as we approach 2-19 when hopefully the true voter fraud will be heard by the SCOTUS. Thank you for giving us a voice in a time where most of us feel we have none. God bless America and you and your family. Sincerely, a devout Bible believing, gun toting PATRIOT! Jennifer

Gov. Huckabee, My mom is 85 yrs. old and she just told me the same thing that you told this man. She agrees with him about the Republicans. She calls them spineless. She has lived through a lot of Presidents and she said that Trump was the best one we have ever had since Franklin D. Roosevelt. She said that he also had to fight to get what he wanted for the people. He worked for the people and not the government officials. She said the he too had took this country out of a depression and made it a thriving country again. The people loved him so much that he was elected 4 times. That's a record!!! Trump is loved like this too. I will never look at Biden as President. He is not.
