Friday marked the 242nd birthday of the United States Marine Corps, and there were observances nationwide, both to celebrate the founding of America’s first marine force of the Revolutionary War, the Continental Marines, on November 10th, 1775, and to remember all the Marines throughout history who gave their lives defending America, our allies and countless victims of tyranny and oppression worldwide.

And of course, today, November 11th is Veterans Day. Memorial Day is reserved for those veterans who died in the line of duty, but Veterans Day is a time to show appreciation for everyone who ever wore the uniform of the Marines, Army, Navy, Air Force or Coast Guard, past and present. But do you know the story of how it all began?

The Media divides

By Mike Huckabee

We know most of the press has adopted the Jimmy Kimmel mantra that everything President Trump does is “bad, bad, bad.” But it’s a little much when they claim that it’s equally bad, bad, bad when he does one thing and when he does the exact opposite.

Case in point: during Trump’s very successful tour of Asia, where’s he’s being greeted warmly and winning diplomatic and trade concessions, he said that he didn’t blame China for taking advantage of terrible American trade negotiators because they were just looking out for their country. Honestly, that sounds pretty obvious to me. But the press dived on it, blasting Trump for turning so diplomatic after he’d run on campaign rhetoric about China “raping” us on bad trade deals. They accused him of coming across as a weak leader.

Of course, when he made the original aggressive comments, they accused him of being undiplomatic and unfit to represent the US to China. A simpler explanation might be that he used campaign rhetoric during the campaign and diplomatic rhetoric during a diplomatic visit, but that wouldn’t let them employ the one-size-fits-all “everything Trump does is bad, bad, bad” template.

Even more annoying, though, was seeing members of the Clinton and Obama Administrations, such as Madeleine Albright, take to the cameras to denounce Trump for not denouncing the Chinese to their faces. Fox News’ Laura Ingraham had a perfect response to that: a list of ways in which China repeatedly rolled over Obama without a peep from him and a montage of photos of Albright smilingly lifting champagne flutes with such world class tyrants as Vladimir Putin and Kim’s dad/predecessor, Kim Jong Il. People who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw champagne bottles.

Oh Canada

By Mike Huckabee

If you think that claims that the left is out to fundamentally transform society and crush religious belief and traditional morality are just conspiracy paranoia, look to our northern neighbor, Canada. It hasn’t been very long since the left was demanding the same rights to adoption for gay couples as male-and-female married couples with traditional religious values. Well, they won that right. Now, they’re trying to deny it to male-and-female married couples with traditional religious values. That’s right: not wholeheartedly embracing same-sex marriage is now a serious enough thought crime in Canada to bar a couple from adopting children.

Remember, this is coming from the same government that ordered a comedian to pay $15,000 for a hate speech violation because he insulted a lesbian couple who were heckling him in a comedy club.

No wonder their national anthem is called, “Oh, Canada!”

I often wonder...

By Mike Huckabee

I often wonder what Trump’s approval rating might be if the mass media, political opposition and even fellow Republicans hadn’t been trying to undermine, attack and delegitimize him from the second Hillary conceded (reminder: she lost the election. The popular vote is irrelevant. She...lost.) ISIS is being crushed, job-killing regulations are being rolled back, unemployment is way down and the stock market is at record highs, he’s getting other nations to renegotiate trade deals and help stand up to North Korea, he’s rolling back Obama’s unconstitutional executive orders, appointing excellent non-activist judges, and he’s at least trying to fulfill his major legislative promises (it’s Congress that’s failing there, not Trump.) Sure, there have been missteps and foot-in-mouth moments, but those happen in every new Administration. So far, his biggest alleged “SCANDAL” has turned up more evidence of Russian collusion among the Democrats’ campaign than his own.

Mr. Rogers' approval rating

Consider this thought experiment. Take the most inoffensive person you can imagine. Let’s say, Mr. Rogers. Now, imagine that King Friday had puppetmaster powers over the Neighborhood of Make Believe, and he had a grudge against Mr. Rogers. So he made all the media outlets and movie and TV shows and celebrities and publications tell people 24/7 that Mr. Rogers was worse than Hitler. People were told that Mr. Rogers was “literally off his trolley.” That his cardigans were made in China, his changing out of dress shoes for sneakers showed insensitivity to white collar flood victims, and his claim that it’s a “beautiful day in the neighborhood” was just to deny manmade global warming.

After a solid year of that relentless negative press, what do you think Mr. Rogers’ approval rating would be? I bet if he ran for office, he wouldn’t even carry his own neighborhood.

Governor Huckabee: I could not take your poll "Who do you Blame for not repealing Obamacare" because you are missing one group; The Democrats AND the RINOs in Congress. That is who I blame!

Thank you, sir, for making it evident that first, you support Judge Moore and yet understandably, secondly, if this is proved true then, yes, the gentleman needs to step down. In other words, you are standing by Judge Moore just as we are until his previous actions would prove otherwise. We have admired the Judge for years and been among many who have prayed him through different battles. We are asking God to please let the truth be revealed.

The problem with trying to drain a swamp is: If there are to many alligators you are "toast".
