Hillary & Uranium One resurfaces
Now, this is what I call a stunning development: The Daily Caller reports that on November 19th, FBI agents raided the home of former FBI contractor Dennis Nathan Cain to seize documents. Cain is a recognized Justice Department whistleblower who had privately delivered documents pertaining to Hillary Clinton, the Clinton Foundation and the Russian company that purchased Uranium One.
The DOJ inspector general was reportedly told that the documents showed that federal officials (surprise!) failed to investigate potential criminal activity related to that deal, and that then-FBI Director (double-surprise) Robert Mueller failed to enforce criminal laws related to the Russian entities seeking to buy one-fifth of the US uranium supply. Maybe he was already too busy rooting through the garbage cans of Donald Trump’s nephew’s accountant’s chef looking for old Russian dressing bottles to bother with a trifle like that.
Sixteen FBI agents showed up at Cain’s house with a court order, claiming he possessed stolen federal property. He told them he was a protected whistleblower under the Intelligence Community Whistleblower Protection Act and that the damaging classified information had been properly handed over to the Senate and House Intelligence committees. The agent in charge ignored him, and Cain was so scared and intimidated, he just stood by while the agents ransacked his house for six hours.
Cain’s attorney accused the FBI agents of acting in “outrageous disregard of the law” in a number of ways. First, by ignoring Cain's legally protected whistleblower status and ransacking his house to seize copies of documents that had been properly given to Congress, while falsely claiming they were stolen property. He also can’t believe that any judge who was properly informed of the facts would have signed off on that search and seizure order. He said the FBI agent in charge even called Cain directly to ask about the electronics they'd seized without going through his attorney, which the lawyer called “serious misconduct.”
Maybe that agent assumed from Robert Mueller’s disinterest in the Clinton Foundation and Uranium One's mutual back-scratching party that serious misconduct is no big deal in Washington – unless you ever had anything to do with Donald Trump. But the rest of us now know that the DOJ and the House and Senate Intelligence Committees have possession of those documents. Inquiring minds demand to know: what do the documents show and what are they going to do about it?
Caravan update
Yet another argument against open borders: Tijuana’s Health Department warns that up to a third of the migrants in the current caravan stopped there have serious health issues, including HIV, TB and chicken pox (ironically, California liberals who support open borders are also among the most likely parents to refuse to get their kids vaccinated.) This is in addition to parasites such as lice and skin infections.
Before anyone starts accusing me of not caring about these poor people's health problems: I do feel bad for them, but it is entirely possible to offer medical assistance to people in other nations without letting them stream across our borders and infect us. This is why we sent a naval hospital ship to Venezuela to help all the suffering beneficiaries of their wonderful socialist health care program that’s collapsing. It’s also why we had the famous immigrant installation on Ellis Island that screened all incoming immigrants for serious contagious diseases, such as TB.
Unfortunately, since that time, America seems to be come into the grip of an epidemic of self-destructive, leftist insanity for which no cure has yet to be found.
Christmas the season of miracles
If you want more proof that Christmas is the season of miracles, then pay close attention to what I’m about to say: “Kudos to CNN for doing the right thing!”
Les Moonves in the news
For all the preaching of liberal pieties that we get from Hollywood, the MeToo movement has shown that behind closed doors, no woman should ever allow a door to be closed when she’s with one of those rich and powerful, virtue-signaling “male feminists.”
We’ve already heard about the alleged sexual aggression of former CBS CEO Les Moonves, but he’s contended that it was all consensual and he did nothing to violate his contract and risk his golden parachute. But a new expose in the New York Times uncovers disturbing details of an alleged assault on one particular actress and how Mooves was so terrified of her ruining him that he allegedly engaged in a conspiracy with a sleazy talent manager to manipulate the victim and shut her up. If this is true, CBS may be saving Moonves' $120 million payout. But they’ll probably need some of that money to cover the lawsuit filed by the woman who claims she was traumatized twice by their CEO, first by sexual assault and then by dishonest manipulation. Warning: this is a long, explicit and very creepy story:
If you want to spare yourself the lurid details, here it is in a nutshell:
