“I was presuming.”

We watch the hearings so you don’t have to!

Of course, even if you can’t stand to watch another minute, there’s still some informative reading material --- including this newsletter, of course --- and I hope you’ll keep abreast. For example, what we’re learning about Dr. Fiona Hill, one of Thursday’s two witnesses in the Schiff-sham “inquiry” hearings, gives reason for pause.

Democrats are supporting this “inquiry” process, such as it is, partly because of the perceived caliber of the witnesses. They’re impressed by resumes, uniforms and emotion. So let’s go deeper and ask, “Who is Fiona Hill?” You might find it interesting that she’s an acquaintance of British ex-MI6 agent Christopher Steele, purportedly the author of the “Steele dossier.” According to POLITICO, after that fictionalized report on Trump was published by Buzzfeed in 2017, she told friends that she was impressed with Steele, particularly his intellect.

With gratitude,

Mike Huckabee

The Gov. answers reader who says he constantly lies

By Mike Huckabee

From Betsy:

YOU, Mike Kookoobee, are the national disgrace!!! Once again, your lies are almost as frequent as the POTUS'. The obvious reason you don't like watching is because your LYING GOP friends are making absolute fools of themselves!! They cannot dispute FACTS, so they have to be disrespectful, arrogant fools!!! Once again, I say that your are disgracing yourself as a Christian by the constant daily lying!! Hasn't God pricked your conscience yet?? No?? Then you're not very open to the Holy Spirit, who must be completely grieved over your behavior!! Smarten up, Mike! And for God's sake (literally) STOP LYING!!!!!!!

From the Gov:

“Kookoobee,” that’s cute. I kind of like it, and watching all these hearings is probably making us all a little kookoo.

With all due respect, Betsy, I think you may have been watching WAAAAAY too much CNN. What the major media are doing during “impeachment fever” is taking the opening statements, which can be virtually anything, and running with those. Later, when those statements are destroyed under cross-examination, the media still go with them, along with cherry-picked testimony, because that’s what they want the story to be. As a result, they shape the narrative, and when I write what actually turns out to be true, I’m accused of lying anyway.

As for their outrageous editorializing --- often masquerading as “news” --- they...well, they sound a lot like you. Although I’m not sure they’ve called me a disgraced Christian yet, at least on the air.

I get letters all the time accusing me of lying. (Yours gets to be printed because it’s one of the rare hateful ones that are clean.) But no one can tell me, specifically, what I’m lying about. If someone does challenge me on a particular fact, I try to provide a thorough answer in the newsletter. I’ve never had to retract anything that has appeared in my newsletter; few so-called “journalists” can say that. THE NEW YORK TIMES has gotten things wrong again and again, as have most in the mainstream media (as they tend to follow the NYT’s lead). Typically they just move on to the next story. Although my newsletter is clearly opinion, the facts I base my opinions on are very carefully assessed.

I’m afraid you are wrong about the Republicans making fools of themselves. On the contrary, they are doing magnificently during this sham, showing themselves to be the adults in the room, the only ones who believe there should be one consistent standard of justice for all, that Presidents (even Trump) have certain authority under law, and that under the Constitution, due process rights apply to everyone. If we lose that grounding, God help us.

I don’t expect what I’m saying to penetrate your skull, because if it could, it probably would have before today. But, boy, that WOULD be a nice thing to be wrong about.

I wanted to make sure you also read these comments:

I told you the Democrats were making the Republicans’ campaign ads for them every time they go in front of TV cameras. Well, here’s the latest devastating RNC ad, and all it took to make it was a little basic taping editing.

Sanctuary City Update: ICE officers in Seattle are furious at Washington County officials who ignored a detainer order for an illegal alien and let him be released on bail after he allegedly crashed into a car while street-racing, leaving an 81-year-old woman dead and her husband severely injured.  Upon being let out of jail, the 20-year-old suspect is believed to have fled back to Mexico.

There are more details at the link, including the justifiably outraged reactions of local citizens to their officials’ prioritizing of protecting illegal immigrant criminals over protecting Americans’ lives.  There’s also a quote from the husband that will break your heart before it makes you even more furious at the people who allowed this to happen and continue allowing things like it to happen over and over and over in the name of leftist politics.

The correct legal term for what these officials is doing is “accessory,” as in this case, “accessory to manslaughter.”

Things that aren’t news to anyone who reads my newsletter: Even the Washington Post fact-checker isn’t buying Adam Schiff’s ridiculous claim that his so-called “whistleblower” has a statutory right to remain anonymous and it’s against federal law to say his or her (but it’s his) name.

That’s actually just a rule that applies to only one person in Washington. If nobody in the hearing chamber is the Inspector General who handled the case, then nobody there is under any obligation to keep the “whistleblower’s” name a secret. So call him to the witness stand already, and let’s find out how this expensive, divisive farce really got started!

The editor of the Atlanta Journal Constitution is complaining that Clint Eastwood’s upcoming movie “Richard Jewell,” about the man falsely accused of being the Atlanta Olympics bomber, contains inaccuracies about the paper that are offensive and harm its reputation.

Wow, that's just unconscionable! Can you imagine how painful it must be for that poor newspaper to have a powerful media voice make false allegations that harm its reputation?  I’ll be sure to bear that in mind as I’m watching the movie...“RICHARD JEWELL.”

Today’s much-needed break from politics: A heartwarming story for all of us who are tired of reading about the disrespect being shown to police officers.

Bible Verse of the Day (KJV)

"But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee."

Betsy, if that was her real name, is suffering from an incurable mental illness. Liberalism. The Democratic Party tends to be a magnet foe all the mentally ill and deranged.

Oh My! You dear Mike Huckabee, are one of my favorite people in the political world (your daughter too). I have to laugh at Miss Betsy......I would love to know her background and her education and why she is so positive in what she is saying............ I can't not believe the letters you must get if this is a clean one. We have come down pretty low in how we treat or talk to others these days. I think I'm glad to be at the end of my time on earth. You keep up your good work and I believe you ! Sincerely, Judy Stevens

Regarding Betsy: The folk that get their 'basic' information from almost any of our misguided media, will have you beating your head against that proverbial brick wall, as there is no reasoning with the unreasonable!

Mr. Hucks, Love your site, your comments & Scripture of the Day. Reading you post of the KJV, I researched that Scripture in other Bibles. Found this version:
1 Chron. 29:14.."And yet, who am I and who are my people that we should be in a position to make voluntary offerings like this ? For everything is from you, and we have given to you what comes from you own hand."

So in Essence, we are giving BACK what God has given us.

    Dear Governor Mike,

Check the return address on "Betsy's" letter or e-mail. I think "Betsy" is really the alternate personality Adam Schiff uses onthos days when he "feels like a woman".

Whether or not its the same "Betsy", she should just take two Midol and call her ob-gyn in the morning.

Thank God this disgusting "dog and pony show" is over! I don't know why I'm surprised at how they are treating our President. Jesus himself said not to be surprised. They did it to him, they'll do it to you. He's in the best company in the Universe! I can't wait to vote him back in next election! I pray for him and his family and Vice President Pence and his family for divine protection against all the evil being thrown against them. I know that God is still on his throne and what they mean for evil God will turn it into good for His glory.

As per usual, Governor, your take and grasp and delivery of this whole stinking mess to include the cast of characters is just...well...superb! Thank you for cutting through the 'stuff' and delivering of the facts,, Joe Friday.

Why, if there is no legal basis for not identifying the "whistle blower," "leaker," does Fox news and the Republicans in Congress not announce to everyone what his name is?
