BIBLE VERSE OF THE DAY

Walter Mondale Dies

By Mike Huckabee

I’m sorry to have to report that former Vice President and Senator Walter Mondale died Monday at 93.

Mondale was a classic “progressive” liberal Democrat who ran for President on a promise to raise taxes (at least he was honest about it, but it helped result in a historic landslide loss to Ronald Reagan in which Mondale won only DC and his home state of Minnesota.) But he was also one of the last remnants of a time when sharp political differences didn’t necessarily mean vicious personal animosity, and hard-fought political battles didn’t destroy friendships or prevent him from acting like a gentleman.

The son of a Methodist minister and a music teacher, Mondale grew up in small towns and kept those values. For instance, he refused to blame anyone but himself for his loss to Reagan. And he had a self-deprecating sense of humor that’s sorely lacking in many current political figures. When he dropped out of the 1976 presidential race, he quipped, “I don’t want to spend the new two years in Holiday Inns.” And when Reagan destroyed the Democrats’ “too old” argument during their debate by joking that he refused to take advantage of his opponent’s youth and inexperience, Mondale was caught on camera laughing along good-naturedly with the crowd.

It’s too bad that such personal decency has become so rare in modern politics. We extend our prayers and sympathies to the Mondale family.

“Police Protection For Me But Not For Thee”

By Mike Huckabee

Before going to Minneapolis to make her speech inciting BLM protesters to violence if former cop Derek Chauvin isn’t convicted of murder, Rep. Maxine Waters reportedly requested a police escort for her personal protection.

But at least she’s not alone in her staggering hypocrisy. The Daily Caller dug into campaign finance records to uncover how members of the far-left “Squad” spend campaign funds on private security while demanding that police departments that protect regular Americans be defunded.

Maxine Waters' Disrespect For The Rule Of Law

By Mike Huckabee

Once again, Rep. Maxine Waters has opened up a barrel of worms by opening her mouth. Her exhortations to the radical mobs to get “confrontational” if former Minneapolis cop Derek Chauvin isn’t convicted of murder are reverberating far and wide, and even have some of her fellow Democrats steaming mad. Here are some of the tangled webs her words have weaved:

The judge in the Chauvin case rejected the defense’s request for a mistrial because Waters’ words amounted to an attempt to threaten and intimidate the jury. He said that “a congresswoman’s opinion really doesn’t matter a whole lot” (Waters used that to flippantly dismiss criticism of her, saying, “The judge said my words don’t matter.” And they don’t, to thinking people. But that’s not who listens to her.)

However, the judge also called Waters’ disrespect for the rule of law and her oath to defend the Constitution “abhorrent,” and admitted that if the jury does convict Chauvin, “Congresswoman Waters may have given you something on appeal that may result in this whole trial being overturned.” Wonder how her rabid “find him guilty no matter what” followers would feel knowing that she had given him one of his best shots at getting any conviction thrown out?

Meanwhile, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, no doubt terrified of alienating her far-left wing or being called a racist, is defending Waters and saying she shouldn’t be expelled, censured or even have to apologize (reminder: this is the same Nancy Pelosi who impeached President Trump on a false charge that he incited a riot at the Capitol that she also falsely claimed caused the violent death of Officer Brian Sicknick, whom we now know died of natural causes.) Apparently, she only opposes riots that get too close to her.

But Pelosi might be unable to protect Waters from paying at least some price for her certified abhorrent rhetoric. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy announced plans to introduce a resolution to censure Waters. Pelosi can’t just ignore that because censure resolutions must be taken up immediately or voted on within two business days. The Democrats could vote to table it or refer it to the House Ethics Committee, where unwelcome attempts to hold members accountable go to die.

However, the Democrats have a razor-thin majority, and there are some moderate Democrats from swing districts who are furious at Waters. They’re scared that her dangerous rhetoric will make voters draw an association between violent rioters and the Democratic Party (No! Why would anyone associate violent leftist rioters who are plaguing Democrat-run cities with the Democrats who run those cities and who refuse to let the police stop them, who arrest citizens for trying to defend themselves from them, or who jail them but immediately let them back out to do it again? ‘Tis a puzzlement!)

Anyway, those Democrats might just relish the idea of being able to vote to censure to put some distance between themselves and Waters. However, even if she is censured, here are a few things to remember:

1. She won’t care. She’ll say that being censured is a badge of honor because the Man is trying to keep her from speaking truth to power, not that she was censured for being a dangerous, irresponsible public safety hazard who makes a mockery of her oath of office. It also won’t stop her from being reelected.

2. Even if some Democrats vote to censure her to save their own seats, they will promptly turn around and vote to put Pelosi or someone just as bad right back in the Speaker’s office and will vote lockstep with the Party’s radical agenda in every other instance.

3. Considering #1 and #2, the best thing to do with your anger over Maxine Waters is to channel it into working extra hard to elect a Republican majority in the House in 2022, so that the next time Maxine Waters spits on her oath of office with some dangerous, unhinged rant (and I’m certain there will be a next time), she will face actual consequences.

In Case You Missed My Interview With President Trump

By Mike Huckabee

I know my newsletter subscribers are people of rare taste and judgement, so I’m sure you watched my phone interview with former President Trump on this weekend’s edition of “Huckabee” on TBN. Didn’t you?

But just in case you missed it -- or you’d like to share it – here’s the full interview now posted on my website.

RIP To Cousin ITT, A Kingsman and an "SNL" Creator

By “Huckabee” writer/pop culture guru Pat Reeder (http://www.hollywoodhifi.com)

Once again, it’s my sad duty to report the passing of two men and a woman whose names you might not know, but they left an indelible mark on our memories and the pop culture landscape of the 20th century.

Actor Felix Silla died Friday at 84 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. One of the busiest little persons in show biz, Silla stood just under 4 feet tall but cast a giant shadow on show business. He came to the US from Italy in 1955 to work with the Ringling Brothers/Barnum & Bailey Circus, then went on to play countless roles in TV shows from “Bonanza” to “Star Trek” and many kids’ shows such as “Lidsville” and “H.R. Pufnstuf.” His long list of movie acting and stunt roles includes “E.T.,” “Planet of the Apes,” “The Towering Inferno,” “Point Blank,” “Poltergeist,” “Spaceballs” and many more. He was often hidden inside strange costumes, such as his role as an Ewok in “Return of the Jedi.”

But the role for which he will always be best remembered is Cousin Itt, the Addams’ Family’s walking hairball relative who spoke in impenetrable gibberish (a sound effect dubbed in later.) Trivia: Silla’s costume was originally made of real hair, but it was switched to a fireproof synthetic for fear that Gomez’s cigar might send him up in flames.

Groundbreaking comedy writer Anne Beatts has died at 74 of unrevealed causes. She first came to prominence in the 1970s at the National Lampoon, where she helped create the infamous parody Volkswagen ad showing a VW floating on the water and saying that if Ted Kennedy drove a VW, he’d be President today. She went on to write for the first five seasons of “Saturday Night Live,” scoring five Emmy nominations and one win for helping create such classic sketches as “The Nerds” (featuring Gilda Radner as Lisa Loopner, with her catchphrase, “That’s so funny, I forgot to laugh.”) Her later projects included creating the cult favorite sitcom, “Square Pegs.” Join me in a moment of silence to remember Anne Beatts and the days when "SNL" was funny.

Finally, Mike Mitchell died Friday on his 77th birthday. He was the co-founder and lead guitarist for the Kingsmen, the Portland, Oregon, band whose ‘60s hit “Louie, Louie” practically invented garage rock and became a smash with a new generation when it was featured in “National Lampoon’s Animal House.” The song was banned in some places because of rumors that the lyrics were indecent, but it was actually just recorded in a cheap studio and came out indecipherable. The feds even investigated, but gave up when not even the FBI sound laboratory could figure out what they were singing.

The Kingsmen made lifelong careers from that one mush-mouthed hit, and continued playing for six decades with Mitchell on guitar. Drummer Dick Peterson remembered him as “the kindest and most generous man on the planet.” I'm glad the Kingsmen made that clear.

THE TRUTH COMES OUT: Sicknick died of natural causes

By Mike Huckabee

NOW they tell us. Officer Brian Sicknick died of natural causes.

About a week ago, three months after Officer Sicknick’s death in the aftermath of the January 6 Capitol Hill security breach, we reported that a cause of death for him had still not been made public. That seemed especially odd since Sicknick’s body had to have been cremated before February 2, as it wasn’t his “body” that lay in honor inside the Capitol rotunda as news reports had said, but his URN.

Normally, a body is not cremated until a cause of death has been determined and a death certificate issued. Yet, over two months after his cremation, we still hadn’t been told cause of death. His family really wanted to know, and even they were left in the dark.

Recall that Sicknick is the officer who allegedly was hit in the head with a fire extinguisher by a Trump rioter inside the Capitol Building and killed by blunt force trauma. THE NEW YORK TIMES published that story, dripping with emotion, two days after the rally. At the time, there were eyewitness reports --- which turned out to be mistaken --- of Sicknick being carried out on a gurney, blood gushing from a head wound. The media went wild with the idea that a Trump supporter had killed a member of law enforcement. There were reports that a member of the Capitol Hill police force had been “beaten to death with a fire extinguisher.” And President Trump had incited this, of course! In fact, reference to the death-by-fire-extinguisher was even included in the subsequent House impeachment documents against him.

Then, on Monday, a day in which the headlines were completely dominated by closing arguments in the Derek Chauvin case, they finally chose to release the cause of death for Sicknick. And so it’s official.

Officer Sicknick wasn’t killed by a blow from a fire extinguisher at all. Nor was he the victim of any other injury. He was not hit at all. The day after the event, he suffered two strokes and died of natural causes.

NATURAL CAUSES.

I have no proof for what I’m about to say, but it’s my contention that the actual cause of death has been known for some time, and that someone was deliberately holding it back, waiting for a moment in the news cycle when it could be released with as little attention as possible. Monday was such a time.

Investigative reporter Glenn Greenwald commented Monday in a series of tweets.

The “fire extinguisher” story had months to build in the media, long after it was determined that witness reports about a gash on Sicknick’s head were wrong. One other theory being pursued was that Sicknick had suffered some kind of delayed reaction to pepper spray or bear spray. But, as Greenwald reports, according to medical examiner Francisco J. Diaz, “the autopsy found no evidence the 42-year-old officer suffered an allergic reaction to chemical irritants, which...would have caused Sicknick’s throat to quickly seize.”

That’s also something that would have been known right away.

The fact that “there was no evidence of internal or external injuries” would have been known sometime in January, before the body was cremated.

Greenwald tweeted a produced montage of media stories, with this comment: “Just look at this short excerpt of how we drowned in a totally false story for a full month --- one that was crucial to the narrative because only Sicknick could be said to have been killed by deliberate violence by pro-Trump protesters.”

Greenwald, who himself comes from the left politically, has had an epiphany about what they’re doing to destroy free speech and substitute false narratives. (And how they detest him for it.) As he tweeted: “The corporate media lies to you constantly because they only care about pleasing the political ideology and flattering the preconceptions of their audience. Substack and similar platforms allow truth to be aired, which is why they hate it.”

Substack is a platform that reporters who want to tell us what they know without the fear of censorship or “cancelation” are increasingly turning to. It’s part of the new alternative media, the backlash we’ve been telling you about. Look for the best in reporting from Greenwald, Matt Taibbi and others there. In fact, Taibbi recently posted on Substack his own expose of fake stories, which we shared.

Anyway, Greenwald continues, patiently explaining to the thick-of-skull that telling the truth is not the same as defending the protesters. I haven’t defended the protesters, either –- they did a boneheaded thing with unfortunate long-term consequences –- but I believe we all deserve the truth about what happened that day.

“There’s no such thing as a noble lie,” Greenwald says, “especially in journalism. This particular fabrication made its way into the impeachment trial against Trump and out of Joe Biden’s mouth. It was clear from the start it was highly dubious, but few journalists cared: it served its purpose.”

Apparently, those who dared to express doubts about the fire extinguisher story were labeled on social media as “Sicknick Truthers.” Hadn’t heard that one, but it doesn’t surprise me.

“What the media did was staggering and revolting,” Greenwald says, “even judging them by their lowly standards.” I second that motion.

Greenwald’s whole series of tweets on this subject, including the responses from the left and what he says in reply, will tell you all you need to know about today’s politically-saturated “journalism.” Greenwald is convinced their left-wing audience wants to be lied to, “for partisan gain and emotional pleasure,” and I don’t doubt it.

He posted a must-read article about this on Substack, saying the media got caught this time in a big lie, after weaponizing it to go after President Trump and his supporters.

The media kept reporting that “five people died” in the “insurrection,” failing to mention that the only person actually killed was an unarmed Trump supporter, Ashli Babbitt, shot by a Capitol Hill officer who remains unidentified and uncharged. Kurt Schlichter has a typically outspoken commentary about that.

Of course, we’re just coming off the fake “Russian bounty” hoax, too,

which was, not surprisingly, also reported first by THE NEW YORK TIMES. What the media do when they’re caught in a lie is just quickly move on to the next tall tale. Never apologize, never retract the story, just keep swimming like sharks. Yes, I know there’s a sucker born every minute, but the media are so obvious and predictable, it’s a wonder so many are taken in.

LEGAL INSURRECTION also has a good write-up on this.

A Reader Writes Back...

Thank you Governor Huckabee for telling it like it is. Thankfully I don’t have any grandchildren still in school. Our country and schools are going to ruin our children.

I read your emails ever day and shake my head in disgust over so much of it.

Again, thank you for your honesty. It is truly appreciated

For you readers who are interested in TX history, I have a suggestion. As a Native TEXIAN since 1938, I thought I had a pretty decent knowledge of TX. History having been educated in not only TX. history but Civics, World History, and another dead subject CURRENT EVENTS. I stumbled across a publishing company in Corpus Christi TX. called Copano Bay Press. So far I have accumulated 16 books one map and one document ( Texas Independence & map of 1846 ). I even have a cookbook of the period? I am not a Paid shill for the company but even if you are not interested in books they have a newsletter that covered the anti-Texas narrative of one of the members TSHA ( Texas State Historical Association) Rewriting history as he WISHED it were.
I have read that Libraries are going to soon disappear since all our history can be had by Social Media? If Google, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube are an example when blatant censorship occurs IF the content does not agree with the OLIGARCHS now CONTROLLING 90% of everything we are ALLOWED to SEE and HEAR!!! a Book written in the period using many first-hand accounts is invaluable. Just a hint for inquiring minds that want TRUTH, not propaganda!

Anyone who still watches CNN, MSNBC, or the LEGACY network shows POSING as News outlets are in my opinion already brain dead and beyond redemption. America has LOST three generations at a minimum to the INFECTED agenda that has penetrated Academia. My own Granddaughter a couple of years back in a small rural SAFE School replied to my inane question of What did you learn in school this week? Well Papaw, My teacher told us we cannot plant enough trees to offset the carbon we are spewing into the air! Only a Moron can miss what this is!! INDOCTRINATION in the 5th grade!!

At this time of national strife I am reminded of the courageous work you did, as Governor, equalizing the sentencing of black Arkansans to correspond to the sentencing of whites. I am not aware of any comparable effort elsewhere in the nation. I wish that your strength on that issue was better known.

I was glad to have it confirmed that Officer Sicknick's death was likely natural, and not a consequence of the previous day's riot. That said, I have too much respect for those who daily put themselves at risk to keep the peace in our cities and Capitol building to feel anything but disgust for those who would blast him in the face with bear spray.

Mike, my grandson in Georgia is studying Texas history at school and the "American Expansion" at the Alamo. Thanks to your newsletter and articles with links, I was able to show him the truth about Mexicans who desired freedom from Mexico, and who fought and died to obtain it. An interesting story is the one of the Esparza family - Enrique Esparza was one of the children who survived. His family history is one which touched my heart, as the family was divided in its loyalties (much like with our civil war) and two brothers fought on opposing sides. Thank you so much for your history lessons!

President Joe Biden said Tuesday he was “praying” for a guilty verdict in the trial of Derek Chauvin, as the jury continues its second day of deliberations over the fate of the former Minneapolis police officer who killed George Floyd.

Although the White House sought to downplay the significance of the president’s remarks later in the afternoon, they nevertheless represented some of the most opinionated comments he has offered on Chauvin’s trial since it began in late March.

CAN YOU BELIEVE A PRESIDENT WOULD SAY THIS? I'M ASHAMED OF AMERICA THAT HIS MAN IS OUR PRESIDENT!

I am afraid I am wrong. It has already happened. When our UN Ambassador apologized for our horrible country to people responsible for huge numbers of deaths and suppression of any rights of individuals, we have passed the point of no return. I suspect that most other civilized countries think we are now a country of lunatics and are afraid of an incompetent administration with access to nuclear bombs.

Ever notice how Carlson and Hannity are omitting talk of the fraudulent election while Lou Dobbs was fired for being incensed and not backing down over talking about the fraud perpetrated by the Democrats in the 2020 election? Notice how President Trump does NOT back down about the 2020 election and the lies of the left and how guarded the Left is about allowing ANY election reform or talk about this past fraudulent election and how the current President blatantly LIES about the current weak Georgia election reform when a stronger reform was halted earlier by a weak Georgia Governor? Ever notice how spineless most of our elected Republicans and the Supreme Court are (excepting Justices Thomas and Alito and a few Republicans) regarding looking at the evidence of the obvious irregularities of the 2020 election when over half the country is really interested in KNOWING what actually happened which would give everyone a certain peace about this election?

As for me, as long as the American people are not going to be given any assurance that this travesty will never happen again while insuring that information and dissent will be controlled by media (big money), that the voting machine problems will never be fixed, that late night trucking of millions of manufactured votes will continue, etcetera; then this Republic is dead with the will of it's citizens no longer respected or adhered to. My opinion is that this is being allowed by God's will as long as deceit and hypocrisy are allowed to prosper in a nation where 70 million babies are murdered as a matter of convenience much like children were offered as sacrifices to idols (Madison Avenue) many years ago. My best guess is that this country is the Prostitute - Mystery Babylon mentioned in Revelation 17:15-18 ('84 NIV) while the Beast is those pulling the strings in the background, such as happened in our last election.

Also note that in the end times, Israel will only have God to look to and NO OTHER NATION will support her. I believe that our nation will be dealt with summarily through total destruction within one hour by those who hate her (this hate put into their hearts by God), "They will bring her to ruin and leave her naked; they will eat her flesh and burn her with fire. For God has put it into their hearts to accomplish his purpose by agreeing to give the beast their power to rule, until God's words are fulfilled." Rev 17:16-17, Rev 18, Rev 17:12-13.

    WATCH AND REPENT.

If Maxine Watters words were meaningless and ineffective then why did she attach enough importance to them to go to the trouble and expense to hire body guards, ask for police protection and travel to make them in the first place?
Secondly, apparently, the judge in this case, while recognizing the tremendously inflaming rhetoric of Ms. Waters and seeing her words as a possible reason for a mistrial while having trouble attaching the negative importance to her words regarding the present trial, is truly blind to the repercussions of his own inaction of not approving a change of venue while holding out the fig leaf of a POSSIBLE mistrial.
