POLL:  Did President Trump make a good choice to replace Justice Kennedy?

---------------------------------------------

Chalk up another victory in the new Cold War that's incongruously being fanned up by the left: Robert Mueller has obtained grand jury indictments of 12 Russian military intelligence officers for allegedly hacking into the Clinton presidential campaign and Democratic Party and releasing tens of thousands of emails  and memoes deemed "politically damaging" (i.e., they revealed to the voters what was actually being said and done) in a "sweeping conspiracy by the Kremlin to meddle in the 2016 U.S. election."

At this point, before Democrats hyperventilate, I should note that the announcement stressed that no Americans were involved and the hacking had no effect on changing any ballots.  So sorry, Trump really is the President, and he will stay that way.

Antifa outrage

By Mike Huckabee

Antifa protesters are “OUTRAGED” (Trademark Reg.) over a proposed bill called the “Unmasking Antifa Act of 2018.”  It would impose fines or prison terms for anyone who “injures, oppresses, threatens, or intimidates any person” while wearing a mask to disguise their identity in public.  The leftist mob is naturally upset at the idea of having to show their faces in public, and not for the reason you’d suspect (because they’re ashamed to), but because their “courage” hinges on escaping any consequences for shouting down other people’s free speech, smashing property or sucker-punching people in the back of the head.  "To fight fascism!"

At the link, some great laughs at their expense, courtesy of Jim Treacher, who offers Antifa three arguments for why it’s a bad idea to make running around in a mask illegal.

SPLC held to account

By Mike Huckabee

The Southern Poverty Law Center, which used to do good work in targeting real hate groups but now slanders conservative and religious groups to panic donors, was recently spanked in court with a $3.375 million defamation verdict.  That emboldened dozens of other groups that they’ve attacked for not toeing the leftist line to consider lawsuits, and Mark Thiessen of the Washington Post to write, "After years of smearing good people with false charges of bigotry, the Southern Poverty Law Center has finally been held to account" and urge people to "stop giving it money and the media stop quoting it or taking it seriously."

If you think any of that actually shamed the SPLC into taking a long, hard look in the mirror, you’d be wrong.  Their president Richard Cohen is defending the labeling of Christian, pro-life and conservative groups as “hate groups,” even – prepare to have your mind boggled – their labeling of the Family Research Council as an anti-gay “hate group” that inspired an unstable man to burst into their office with a gun and try to kill everyone there.  Check out the linked article for more disgusting and indefensible details.

I’ve pointed out before that one good definition of a hate group would be an organization that systematically denigrates and slanders large groups of people who hold differing views, resulting in negative attacks and even physical assaults against them.  Under that definition, the SPLC would rank as the most profitable “hate group” in America. At the very least, in terms of groups that have sadly degenerated from their initial noble missions into something ugly and unrecognizable, the SPLC is actually outdoing the ACLU, and that’s really saying something.

Health warning

By Mike Huckabee

I’ve mentioned this before, but it bears repeating: if you have any Kellogg’s Honey Smacks cereal in your pantry, the CDC says throw it out or return it to the store. It’s been linked to a salmonella outbreak that’s sickened about 100 people in 33 states.

A 14 year old Huck's Hero

By Mike Huckabee

There were many Huck's Heroes involved in the rescue of those 12 young boys and their coach from a flooded cave in Thailand.  But did you know that one of the true heroes was only 14 years old and was one of the trapped kids?

Myanmar refugee Adul Sam-on can speak five languages, and he was able to translate and coordinate communications between all the rescuers and the boys.  To American students who complain about having to study different languages, take note: you never know what kind of a jam it might rescue you from someday.
