Support For Voter ID Laws Hasn't Budged

The same Monmouth University poll that found that more minorities than whites want voter ID laws (but large majorities of both groups want them) also found that one-third of Americans believe Joe Biden won the presidency thanks to vote fraud. That includes 63% of Republicans and those leaning GOP.

Those numbers haven’t budged since November, despite the media’s insistence that it’s a false conspiracy theory, a “big lie” and an attack on democracy. You could draw a lot of conclusions from this. Maybe it’s a testament to just how divided on partisan lines we are. Or maybe these voters distrust the vote because the Dems and the media dost protest too much, with their all-out war on any attempts to examine the 2020 ballots and voting machines. Or maybe they just remember how the Dems spent four years claiming that Russia stole the 2016 election for Trump, and they just enjoy turning the tables.

Or maybe, as this article points out, they know there’s more evidence of voter fraud (even if it’s not enough to have changed the election results) than there is of “voter suppression,” yet the media and the Democrats also insist that’s real and a genuine danger to democracy.

There’s only one thing I know for certain: all this never-ending turmoil, suspicion and divisiveness wouldn’t still be going on if Biden and Trump had joined together to call for a transparent, bipartisan investigation of the vote to get to the truth and settle all the questions and accusations before Biden took office. If only someone had suggested that! Oh, wait, I remember now: I did.

    I have a question. With States now recounting and looking at the voting irregularities, if indeed we can finally prove that Trump won, what if anything will happen?

    i can't believe all this argument over voter id.. we had to have a PICTURE ID for my husband to be treated at the hospital, so what in heaven's name is wrong with having a picture ID to vote? In fact, in Michigan, most dr offices want a picture of you on your chart!

    Keep hearing how Biden is so popular now his ratings? By who? Whatever he had to say yesterday on Guns what was all of that rambling? His trip over to Europe and everyone glad handing him like your old grandpa. They are doing whatever they want in spite of us and even to okay per China and what they sent to all of us this Covid virus the Chinese virus? How can those behind the scene allow him to keep making a fool of himself and us? Even Pres Obama and Hillary accept what is going on. We had Pres Reagan there for awhile still in office but into his Dementia? Now we face this racism and that even the military has to read How To Be An Antiracist per a writer and who is black and hates whites see some of what he has said? So now we are to learn per what he says and come together. One of the best areas to find relationships is usually in the military. Instead we get two old men one Navy Admiral backing this up and an Army General about this. Who is pushing their buttons and they can get out tomorrow and then tell us what is the whole story not what is told to them to have to say? Our schools even worse and PARENTS stand up and stop this no more and in College take away the tax money on these professors. I never had professors that I knew who they ever voted for or what they believed they taught their subjects . STOP what is being done to our young our kids? Border is insanity and the thousands coming from where and who? No way do you want DRUG CARTELS here see what they do in Mexico and other places to control? NOT pleasant? Many of us are losing our loved ones. I know now of a few affected and many we know their kids killed per Fentanyl used in OR I am an RN and controlled per anesthesia? It kills quickly . SO Where is Biden or Harris trying to stop this. How can a young man as I read on Yahoo yesterday his mother a Dr order pain dead? If true first how can you now just order drugs and be delivered to your home and no one notices this?
    See the crime rising and who is to protect us in the future and the way it is going now is to have our own protection ? Police cannot do it all anymore. See now in NY they take away Guilianis law permit and yet the Gov can still govern there per they many claim he allowed many elderly to die and he is being accused of sexual assault by a few women and some are Democrats and worked with him? So WHY in NY one is booted out per his work and what he has evidence of per Pres Biden and Ukraine and voting and yet this Gov continues WHY NY?

    While I certainly agree with you, does this mean that Rachel Maddow can now file a deformation lawsuit against the judge (chuckle)??

    There is alot of distrust. I don't trust democrats at all due to their constant lies, inaction, and self-rightousness. They do protest too much when simple investigations could solve the issue of distrust. The democrats heavy handedness and unlawful legislation as well as illegal impeachments x2 add to our distrust and makes democrats look incompetent and hateful! The democrats distraction of impeachment caused COVID19 to spread when, if the impeachment hadn't happened, Our President Trump could have devoted the proper time and attention to the matter. Democrats have DEMOCRATS their HATE and DISDAIN for any thing conservative thus causing a MAJOR DIVIDE in America! Until democrats (and some RINO Republicans) are held accountable, punished, and sent to prison or removed from office, there will never be unity as far as we can see!

    The real tragedy is that 100% of our citizens don't believe voting should be protected at all costs. I have never missed a voting opportunity in my life as I know this is a great honor to have. I fly the American flag, thank veterans for their service, stand for the national anthem, and proudly placed my hand over my heart. Patriotism should be contagious not shunned, stepped on, or thrown away. Proud to live in the USA. The greatest country ever!

    As one of the many minority groups in the USA, I fully support voter ID for all elections. There are 11 tribes in Alaska. I am 1/2 Tlingit Indian. Last fall, I moved from Kenai, Alaska to Omaha, Nebraska.

    What happened to all the certified statements by folks who saw fraud? Why has the press not shown them and keep their testimony in the public eye? FOX, others?

    It could be 99.99% support for Voter ID--it would not matter. As long as the media is against it, Congress will be against it and therefore, it will be shut down. What has to happen is Americans have to realize Congress is not in charge--we are. If it takes doing this through the 10th Amendment, and passing this only on each state level so Congress has no jurisdiction, so be it!
