A salute to Ellen DeGeneres, who was attacked by the usual leftist Twitter mob for daring to be seen sitting next to former President George W. Bush at an NFL game.  In a delightful surprise, she didn’t react with the usual groveling apologies, but instead said this:

“I have friends who don’t think the same things that I do. When I say be kind to one another, I don’t mean only the people who think the same way you do, I mean be kind to everyone."

Wow, how refreshing and how desperately needed!  Unfortunately, both the Twittersphere and Hollywood are filled with people whose credo is “Civility? What’s that?!”  So her pleas for kindness and tolerance were savaged by many, including some of her fellow Hollywood liberal celebrities, who feigned general agreement with respecting people’s differences (in theory), but… (any rational-sounding statements they make are always followed by “but…”) Bush is an exception because he’s been called a “war criminal.”  (By whom?  By them, I believe.)

But Bush isn’t really a special exception because we all know there isn’t a conservative alive for whom the left couldn’t haul up a “but” to justify being rude and nasty.  Show them any conservative, no matter how kind and inoffensive, and they’ll show you a fascist. I assume that’s even what they call me, “but…”  Life is too short to read their brain drool on Twitter, so who cares?

One other interesting point about this story, as noted by someone on the Fox News comments board: isn’t it telling that conservatives, who are painted as being rigid and intolerant, are all praising Ellen, a liberal LGBTQ icon, for defending civility…and liberals, who pride themselves on their tolerance and diversity, are ripping her to shreds for daring to be decent to someone she disagrees with politically?

A lot of people are predicting that the increasingly violent and unhinged left in America won’t be satisfied until they spark a second civil war.  But that’s the wrong term.  If they spark anything, it will be an uncivil war.

With Speaker Nancy Pelosi allowing Democrats to shred the Constitution and House precedents in their zeal to impeach President Trump, Republican Rep. Ralph Abraham of Louisiana has introduced the perfect counter-measure, and unlike most House documents, it’s blessedly short.  Here’s his proposed resolution in its entirety:

“Resolved, That pursuant to Article 1, Section 5, Clause 2 of the United States Constitution, Representative Nancy Pelosi be, and she hereby is, expelled from the House of Representatives and the Office of the Speaker is declared to be vacant.”

You have to admire the multiple layers of symmetry.  Pelosi allows an unconstitutional push to oust Trump without following proper procedure, Abraham cites the Constitution while following proper procedure by introducing a resolution to oust Pelosi.  The Democrats have yet to prove or even cite any actual “high crimes and misdemeanors” committed by Trump as grounds.  Abraham released a statement citing his specific grounds:

“Nancy Pelosi’s vicious crusade against our lawfully-elected President is nothing more than a politically-motivated witch hunt and it must be stopped. She has disgraced the people’s House and weaponized the Speaker’s gavel for her party’s political gain. House Democrats spent nearly three years obsessed with election meddling only to dwarf any such efforts with their own deceitful plan to nullify the 2016 election and prevent President Trump from winning in 2020.”

And to complete the symmetry, while critics say Abraham’s resolution has no chance of passing, he can reply that impeachment has no chance of passing the Senate, but that hasn’t stopped Pelosi from wasting the people’s time and money pursuing it.

Let’s just hope for one more example of symmetry in 2020: when the phony impeachment mania dies with Trump’s reelection and the resolution to remove Pelosi from the Speaker’s position becomes unnecessary because she’ll be moving back to the minority.

Fox News’ Tucker Carlson has unearthed a “smoking gun!”  It’s a transcript of a phone call in which the President openly sought help from a foreign leader to help influence an upcoming election in the US in his favor.

Oh, wait: that was Bill Clinton in 2000, leaning on then-British Prime Minister Tony Blair to help Al Gore.

Never mind!

Dear Gov, I would like to see justice come for all the wicked things the left has done and said since the President was elected. The corruption is beyond measure, the lives destroyed, families ruined and, in the case of Kavanaugh, how must his wife and daughters get thru the day. This is the meanest people I have ever seen in my life. I truly pray that AG Barr and Mr. Durham come back with evidence that puts many people on trial. If charges can't be brought, then at least in the court of public opinion, they are measured out the same damage they have done. Pelosi, Schiff, Nadler, Waters and a cast of others need to be censured and removed from office.

Thank you for always informative, and usually light hearted comments. We have to still smile through this and see this for what it is. A true clown show. God Bless you and your family.

    Thanks for your newsletters.
About Nancy Pelosi - I am fed up with her. She is the one who should be impeached because everything she does is evil and just wrong. Further, if the President is impeached, I hope it will be the death knell for the democrat party (Note: I refuse to say Democratic because they are not democratic).

Typical “Do as we say, not as we do” double standard! It’s so appalling when we have people going without in this country while they keep spending tax payers money endlessly. When will this debacle ever end?

Good for Ellen! even though I can't watch her.
Got a question, how long before Pelosi et al will offer a deal to Trump, "We'll stop the impeachment proceedings if you investigations into any Democrat"

So now if the Dems impeach our Pres who was elected by the people, downplaying our voting privilege plus no electoral college as far as they are concerned....We are losing Our country so fast yet the Republicans are still not responding????! So where does this leave the conservative Vote and Our President Trump. Yes there are a few Rep. who do speak out but nothing like the far left is doing. Just so perplexed. I'm 67 and voted Republican all my life and with every time I could vote.

Ellen DeGeneres is a class act, whether one agrees with her politically or not.

I figure that, just like someone "quietly" rewrote the criteria for a whistleblower to have to have first hand knowledge, there will be those that will "quietly" rewrite all aspects about impeachment. Like, not needing a factual act or evidence. Not needing to let the opposing party ask any questions, produce any evidence, etc etc etc. Of course, if there is ever a whistleblower against a democrat, I'm sure they will just as "quietly" change the rules back.

Wonder how long it will take hil or someone to try to demand that no one speak another word about Carlson Tucker's find? As for biden--I can't believe he would be so stupid as to publicly (or even in a letter) DEMAND that no adverse news be aired against him and his son. Really, like no one was allowed to speak anything negative about Donald Trump the candidate? Oh, right. HE was fair game, whether the "information" was made up or not.

Ellen is a hypocrite, period. This is her true feeling regarding our President. From an interview on Vanity Fair...another rag.

"Despite her general resistance to getting political on her show, Ellen DeGeneres took a firm stance against Donald Trump on Friday, when she told Matt Lauer that she would not, hypothetically, invite the president on as a guest. She’d said the same thing to Alec Baldwin just days before, but Lauer, unlike Baldwin, also hit her with a follow-up: Why? That’s when DeGeneres, a genial comedian known for keeping things light, took her firmest anti-Trump stance. “Because I’m not going to change his mind,” DeGeneres told Lauer. “He’s against everything that I stand for. We need to look at someone else who looks different than us and believes in something that we don’t believe in and still accept them, and still let them have their rights.”

DeGeneres has spoken out against Trump before on Ellen, though in the past she’s done so more obliquely: in January following the Trump administration’s Muslim ban, DeGeneres used her most recent film to critique the president.

I wouldn't exactly call those statements "being kind to someone even if they don't think the same way you do". Give me a freaking break.......

I don't personally know any Democrats who act like we see on TV or read about. I believe the protesters are goons hired by George Soros and other "community organizers" who are trying to stir up a lynch mob mentality. With the help of the media that Soros owns, the perception is not reality. However, three years of non-stop hysteria will wear down the most sensible people. The whole agenda is straight out of the communist playbook of men like Soros and the late Saul Alinsky.

Idon't watch Ellen but I agree with her about treating people nice. A once friend went off the rails on me because I support the President. (I don't support his decision in Syria. It will be genocide for the Kurds). Another friend says we don't talk politics & I'm ok with that & we're still friends.
I'm also not happy about putting our troops into Saudi Arabia, they can fight their own battles.

Ref the dems claims of illegal action with Ukraine against Trump, and the 2000 phone call from Clinton leaning on Tony Blair to help al Gore. If the dems accuse Republicans of anything, it's because they already did and got away with it. In 2001 they accused Bush of altering intelligence inormation, because they did it and got away with it in Kosovo. They've accused Trump of misusing the IRS, because they did it undr Obama, and (so far) have gotten away with it. If they blame someone, look back and you will see they did it.

I have never did any Facebook, tweet on twitter or any of that other useless media. I'm not a bad person. But folks no one needs to be in anyone else's business that much. And if you do, maybe you should try having your own life. It's rather rewarding & relaxing. And come on now. We all can be friends with whom ever we choose. It's the family we can't pick.
