Any military leader will tell you that if you are heading into a battle, one trait you hope the other side possesses is predictability.  So if you think of the coming Presidential election as a battle, then you can see how blessed Trump is that his opponents never know what he will say or do next, but they are predictable as a cuckoo clock and as easy to play as a kazoo.

The latest example started when Reps. Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib were banned from visiting Israel after it was discovered they’d let a notorious anti-Semitic group plan their trip and they intended to use the visit to incite anti-Israel unrest and propaganda with Palestinian Authority leaders and promote the odious BDS movement.  An earlier generation of Democratic leaders would have taken them to the woodshed, but predictably, today’s Democrats rallied to defend the indefensible and even talked of taking measures to punish Israel for not letting the snakes into their own garden.

Relying on his opponents’ predictability, Trump goaded them into doubling down by doing what nobody would expect of a sitting President: he openly slammed Tlaib and Omar, talked about all the things he’d done that have made him the most pro-Israel President ever, then took it further, questioning why Jews support Democrats, and adding, “In my opinion, you vote for a Democrat, you’re being very disloyal to Jewish people and very disloyal to Israel. And only weak people would say anything other than that.”

The Democrats’ reaction was (say it with me) predictable.  They went ballistic, calling Trump a dictator and comparing him to Hitler.  Because who’s more famous for defending Jews from attack than Hitler?  I know, it makes absolutely no sense, but Trump knows that they’ve been calling Republicans “Hitler,” “Nazi” and “fascist” for so long that they now do it from force of habit, even when it couldn’t possibly be less appropriate.

Note that nowhere in that response was anything defending Israel or repudiating the hateful rhetoric of Omar and Tlaib, or explaining why Jews should keep voting for Democrats. It was just an unhinged attack on Trump that included their least convincing comparison of a Republican to Hitler so far.  Maybe that demonstration of where their true inclinations lie will actually convince some Jewish voters who traditionally support liberals to stop and think for a moment and ask themselves why they’re supporting people who keep doubling down on defending blatant anti-Semites who proudly align themselves with the sworn enemies of Israel?

And to any media figures who will try to write off Trump’s comments as just unstable and erratic ad-libbing, note that the story says he made similar comments two days in a row. That’s not ad-libbing.  That’s laying a very deliberate trap and knowing your opponent is going to be predictable enough to charge headfirst into it.

A Huck’s Hero salute to Ben McCoy, an employee of Fat Boys Bar and Grill in Coweta County, Georgia, whose bravery (and rifle) very likely prevented a mass shooting early Saturday morning. Police say Kevintez Mathewis became enraged after being ejected from the bar by security.  McCoy, who was outside the bar at the time, spotted Mathewis rushing back toward the bar with a pistol in hand. He quickly grabbed his rifle from his vehicle and distracted Mathewis.

Dramatic surveillance video captured Mathewis firing multiple shots at McCoy, who, contrary to the liberal narrative, didn’t panic and start shooting wildly.  He held his fire, even after being struck by “numerous” bullets, but he distracted Mathewis away from the bar until he panicked and fled.

This is not the way that liberals tell us such incidents go – in fact, they claim statistics show the “good guy with a gun ending a mass shooting” narrative seldom happens.  But that’s because when an armed good guy like Ben McCoy is on the scene, the attack doesn’t last long enough to become a mass shooting statistic.

The Trump Administration is reportedly considering an executive order that would allow state and local governments to refuse to let the federal government resettle refugees there if locals object.

Trump also casually let it drop that he’s considering an executive order to end birthright citizenship, or the granting of automatic US citizenship to any baby born on US soil, regardless of its parents’ nationality.

There is some question as to whether the President has the power to change birthright citizenship, which you can learn more about at the link.

Frankly, I don’t know if either proposal is serious or will ever come to anything.  But simply by suggesting both, Trump goaded the left into explosive reactions, making them loudly and forcefully defend birthright citizenship and forcing refugees onto local communities against their will.  For Trump, getting Democrats to fly into a frenzy that illustrates just what they are is as easy as tossing chum into a shark tank.

Despite the fevered attempts by Democrats and the media (but I repeat myself) to gin up a recession before the 2020 election (or at least to convince voters there is one), some financial experts refuse to play along.  So far, the talk of signs of a coming recession has centered on the bond market’s “inverted yield curve,” which happened briefly last week, then reversed itself.  But Carl’s Jr. CEO Andy Puzder and Harvard Business School student Jon Hartley just published a study that suggests the economy is stronger than we’re being told.

The CEO of Bank of America also thinks the recession chatter is overblown.

Homebuyers aren’t feeling too recessionary, either.

And Credit Suisse created a “recession dashboard” with seven economic indicators from every recession dating back to 1973.  In previous recessions, virtually all were trending downward.  Currently, the bond yield curve is the only one looking recessionary.  Two others are neutral, and the other four-point toward expansion.

The bottom line is that there is no evidence that the US economy is on the brink of a recession.  But there is plenty of evidence that if a recession doesn’t arrive before 2020, there will a very deep depression at CNN and MSNBC.

As I noted before, "consistency", as in the Bible means God doesn't change on His principles, and neither should our leadership on priciple-based issues.
Again, nothing gains respect of principled people more than good statesmanship, regardless of the adversary's tactics. That doesn't mean we can't lay traps for them, but we should make it clear that if they want to respond in un-American ways, we'll be happy to note it, publicly (then say 'I told you so' - noting the announcement event, and then the offensive event, as MRC does so well).

In reference to Jerry at 8:06am re barking dogs. Our German Shepherd, Eva Grace, has a horribly LOUD annoying habit of hysterically whining and barking at every single dog that walks down our street. I finally figured out why she becomes so unhinged...she knows she is NOT GOING ANYWHERE! Try as I may, there is absolutely no reasoning with her. She continues to bark and whine-just a bunch of LOUD NOISE! ;-)

no wonder dems candidates are dropping out like flies. I just love it when DT plays them like a fiddle and they like the lemmings they are, fall for it every time.. Yeah, I know we need a good laugh periodically, so I encourage him to keep it up. We conservatives DO have a sense of humor, it needs to be tickled on a regular basis at the pathetic libs who are nothing more than communists bent on the destruction of America. Isn't there a term for that? Isn't there also a punishment?

I have commented about how ignorant the talking points the Left barked out earlier this year then changed my opinion. I took the bait and got mad at how stupid they are a few months ago that all changed for me I encouraged them to talk more the more they talked the more they drove some of their base away from the now Socialist ;;even the past democrats have finally figured out how stupid they are so my advice to the Socialists keep barking just like a barking dog people will want you to shut up or take a different approach, to you keep barking Socialists I endorse it keep barking all the free stuff till all you have left is the hobo vote.

Thank you Mike for all of the great detailed writing that shows why Trump's actions are so great and how the Democrats actions or reactions are so obvious and complete nonsense. Unfortunately, we have too many voters that are clueless and believe the media that promotes the nonsense. So ?? Hmm, what will Trump do next?

Problem: Our nation has lost its moral compass and common sense. Our nation's future will be determined by the results of the 2020 elections. Our goal is to MOTIVATE low turnout Christians to register and vote. Then unite and educate the deceived and disillusioned. We will share common sense and the history writings of our forefathers. See the book: Jesus was is involved in
Politics, by Neil Mammen, and David Barton's DVD, Pastors & Christians that we will use to educate. This is about to happen in Roseburg OR and we urge others to do the same in their respective communities.

Trump chumming the waters is a delayed take on my original thoughts of throwing out Rabbits for the media to chase. They Fall for it every time and it only makes them more anti Trump than being so wrong about the election. The problem is many so called conservative Journalist also take the bait. I think moving the bulk of Govt. to Mid America could solve most of these problems. Make the Lobbyist have to spread the wealth and make the media move out of their comfort zones in DC and NYC. Imagine having to find a New Watering Hole in Kansas to swap talking points?

Your Huck’s Hero Salute reminded me of a situation in Texas, that happened this wk:

A big crook tried to rob a 7-11.

Officials reported that the clerk said he grabbed a rope and tied the suspect up until police arrived. The clerk told reporters that he is a cowboy from West Texas.

Police said the suspect was tied up so tight, they had to use a knife to cut him out.

The clerk suffered minor injuries during the scuffle and was treated at the scene.
