Die-hard Democrat leaders and other political enemies of former President Trump might want to put him on trial, but most Americans do not.

Most don’t care to watch it. According to a new Rasmussen poll, just 15 percent of likely voters –- repeat, likely voters –- planned to watch the whole impeachment “trial.” Most did say they would check in from time to time. But 32 percent said they would not watch ANY of it.

Only 31 percent thought that Trump would likely be convicted. Another 64 percent said a conviction was unlikely or definitely would not happen.

Even a majority of the “politically unaffiliated” (independents), 54 percent, said Trump SHOULD not be convicted. Among Republicans, that number is 81 percent.

And so much for President Biden’s favorite word, “unity.” According to an earlier Rasmussen poll, 57 percent of likely voters said that just having the “trial” –- yes, we’re still using quotation marks around that word here, as it’s not really a trial –- will lead to more division. (They are right.) Among Republicans, that number is 83 percent, which is even bigger than Trump’s current base of support, according to the WASHINGTON EXAMINER.

This is in spite of the frenzy from the media, who are completely off their collective rocker. They’re trying desperately to whip up the Capitol Hill incident into a manifestation of widespread domestic terrorism within the Trump ranks. In particular, at CNN they are out of their freaking minds, with Anderson Cooper talking about Trump supporters “other-izing” people who aren’t like them, even making comparisons to genocidal Hutus in Rwanda who called the Tutsis “cockroaches” before killing them. I am not kidding.

Tucker Carlson mentioned this as well in the opening to his Wednesday show, also explaining how wrong the media are getting the real story of how the Capitol riot got started. They’ve lied about how the casualties occurred, too. Major unanswered questions remain, even as the Senate “tries” Trump for “inciting” it.

If the current mass hysteria were a square dance, some producer from CNN would be calling it. These people are psychotic. Someone should tell the men in the little white coats to come and take them awaaaaaaay!!!

Ironically, the “other-izing” here is being done by Anderson Cooper. To him, we are the cockroaches.

Yesterday, I mentioned that Trump’s attorneys, who have gotten some bad reviews for their arguments on Tuesday, are actually last-minute fill-ins for his previous attorneys whose law firm was bullied into dropping Trump’s case. Recall that Jonathan Turley has expressed dismay at others in his profession who try to prevent the former President from exercising his right to legal representation. It’s become difficult for Trump to hire the caliber of attorneys he needs. John Hinderaker, president of the Center of the American Experiment, spoke with Mark Steyn on FOX NEWS Wednesday evening about this.

"That was the worst opening statement I have ever heard, yesterday,” Steyn said, “and I tell you, I would’ve fired that guy [Bruce Castor] in the corridor ten minutes afterwards.”

Hinderaker did say that Trump has at times had “bad taste in lawyers.” But he said the real story is that “major law firms and high-profile lawyers don’t dare represent Donald Trump. We have seen this over and over again. He has hired top-notch law firms...and they wind up having to put out a public statement saying, ‘No, we don’t represent Donald Trump’...one firm after another." He told the story of a good friend of his, a senior partner at a respected global firm, who did a “tiny” amount of “volunteer” work for Trump after the election, it got out, and “the left launched a massive attack on her law firm, and the law firm’s clients.” (!!)

They were trying to put this huge, prestigious law firm out of business because one of the partners had committed a mortal sin. She decided that, for the sake of her partners, she had no choice but to leave the firm!

He added that the governor of Michigan, Democrat Gretchen Whitmer, has tried to get the lawyers who represented Trump in that state disbarred.

So, according to Hinderaker, the “two or three lawyers” who are representing Trump now “have been on the case for a week or less.” He thought the brief that they’d prepared “was not bad...perfectly adequate.”

They did have a laugh over Hinderaker’s observation that no matter how lacking Trump’s defense might be, “that lawyer is gonna win this case.” A month from now, that lawyer will say, “I won the biggest case in my life, rather easily, when the Senate voted.”

Obviously, Hinderaker is with the majority of those polled who believe Trump will not be convicted. He called it “an exercise in futility.” Of course, he said, that’s because “45 senators have already voted that they don’t think they have jurisdiction.”

He said Democrats don’t want to focus now on their own administration. “They’re obsessed with continuing to hate Donald Trump as they’ve been doing for the last four years. I find that just astonishing.”

I can imagine them watching the "trial" video over and over for the rest of their lives, remembering the good old days of Trump-hate. Of course, that much hate has repercussions. In a stunning poll from Zogby Analytics, based on a sample of 873 likely voters from around the country, 46 percent believe civil war is likely, while 43 percent believe it isn’t.

Among Republicans, the split was 49 percent likely to 40 percent unlikely. Among Democrats, the split was 45 percent likely to 44 percent unlikely. Among independents, it was 42 percent likely and 44 percent unlikely. So all groups were split somewhat similarly.

Perhaps surprisingly, whites were less likely to see civil war ahead than Hispanics and blacks. Among Hispanics, the split was 53 percent likely vs. 43 percent unlikely. Among blacks, it was 49 to 39 percent. For whites, 43 percent vs. 44 percent. Given that the margin of error is plus-or-minus 3.3 percentage points, this is essentially an even split.

There were regional differences as well. Respondents in the East were much less likely to anticipate civil war (39 percent yes, 44 percent no) than, say, those in the South (49 percent yes, 39 percent no).

People who live in large cities were much more likely to think we’ll have one than those in the suburbs. More details at the link. Obviously, all the pushing, lying, name-calling, tweet-censoring, statue-toppling, power-grabbing and boot-heel grinding by the left is having its effect. Indeed, they seem to be deliberately goading conservatives into striking back, so they'll have an excuse to crack down even more. Don't be foolish enough to take that bait.

You refer to unaffiliated voters as "independents". This is false. Governor of Alabama George Wallace started the Independent party back when he and the Kennedys were at odds with each other about racial issues (Blacks attending schools). I remember all that. I do not agree with his (Wallace's ) stance. I believe he was a racist and I am not, therefore I consider myself an unaffiliated not Independent. I do support Trump and most (not all) of the republicans values. I align mostly with the republicans but still an (UNAFFILIATED).

I was going to watch and then not watch. Finally I decided to take a peek and when I did it was Eric Swalwell front and center. Sorry, but I don't watch someone who may or may not been in bed with a Chinese spy. Total time watched so far under 5 minutes. I hate to use this word but it was more of a lynching than anything else.

Hi Mike, just a short response.
Division is definitely not my concern at this time, as unity would simply be used to continue our march toward UN Agenda 2030, one world Marxist (and heavily technocratic) government. In fact, I would suggest that total division and resistance is now needed, including non-acceptance of the election results barring total investigation and review of massive evidence that the election was stolen. The election results should not be allowed to stand, as doing so amounts to acceptance of banana republic status, essentially without our vote to count ever again!

This impeachment is a lie. The very people who are "representatives" that sit behind Pelosi are the very ones who shouldn't have their committee spots (Swadwall) at all. Dog /pony show through and through to continue to harp on a former President they disagree with. Such influence Mr Trump that you have had even out of office. Proud to support you. You were a Great Leader. Thank you for your Leadership. Cheryl

I am split in the middle of will there be, or will there not be civil war. I definitely believe the progressive movement is blowing as much O2 on the tinder box as possible. It seems obvious that this furry is more aimed at our politician sitting in DC than those of us on main street. There is indeed much anger outside of DC, but it all leads right back to those creating this corruption! If this does turn into war I doubt that the fence in DC is going to hold off the rage. I'm in my 60's and a Christ follower so I don't condone violence at all! I'm just making a point as to where the real anger rest and it's not with my neighbors.

I really believe the "Trump Haters" have created a religion and they just can't let go. I would like to look one of them in the eye and say, "exactly what changed in your life during the last four years that made your life worse?" I would venture to say they can't name a single thing
THANK YOU FOR BEGINNING WITH SCRIPTURE

You know who is essential in Cochise County, AZ? The Democratic Party office. OPEN for in -person business with a folding chalkboard sign outside, even. Now why does the party of SCIENCE require in -person political help? Hmmm.

The hatred the democrats have for President Trump amazes me. In my opinion the democrats are the ones causing all the division in this country. They will never be convinced of that though.

I read on Facebook a few weeks ago that Alan Dershowitz offered to represent President Trump against impeachment. Why didn't President Trump take him up on this or was this just fake news?

"Don't be foolish enough to take that bait." This is exactly what they want... IF they goad us into action ... they attack the gun owners and use our action against us... BUT if we don't act... they ride over our rights... This gives them an equal balance keeping us basically between a rock and a hard place. So basically it is equally foolish to act as it is to not act.

Wow cannot believe such high percentage thought for probable civil war I thought I was the only one ! Governor, the climate has become quite unsettling. If it continues as is, there will be some sort of retaliation somewhere. I think it may be inevitable at that point. What for God's sake are the democrats doing ? It is like an evil entity has possessed them. Are they truly that fearful of Trump and their supporters ? Gosh, I have accepted Trump is no longer president, why can they not move forward ? If doing all of this is to so call "convert" us Trumpies....ain't gonna work, we are not going anywhere.

If I were is Bidens shoes I would start assembling my Lawyers for the Impeachment Trial to follow in 2025. Donkeys are Stubborn Jackasses which is why we don't pay for public education for asses. But Pachyderms have LONG Memories and the Dim Wits have opened the door, first by not even having a floor vote for Impeachment and then not having enough sense to properly Interpret High Crimes and Misdemeanors and Third The Chief Justice would not legitimize the clown show by sitting in Judgement.

Part of my family moved to Florida from North Carolina in 1826. Three great grandfathers and two great great grandfathers fought in the Civil War; one for General Grant; and, four for that great Southern Gentlemen, General Robert E. Lee. If there is a "next one" you can bet it will end differently. The socialist are not well armed nor have they food or provisions to last awhile, they mostly live grocery shelf to table. The criminals alone will overcome them in their own cities and neighborhoods.

I spent 18 months in the Marines in Vietnam; I hope it does not come to another Civil War, but your statistics show there is a real possibility, when half of those polled thinks so. A stray "political" round from one of those idiots in Washington may set it off. Your poll numbers show the pot is already simmering, it might not take much more to make it boil over; mid term elections, if like the last one, could be the flash point.

Remember, there are a lot of National Guardsmen, policemen and others who will not take up arms against their fellow Americans. They will not do the liberal socialist nasty work.

But if it happens, it may settle a lot of things, mainly put a lot on new conservatives in office.

Hi Gov'na, I've put all my hope & confidence in DJT from the moment he announced his candidacy. Just after I clicked on Epoch Times they started to present typed up versions of "quotes" by several of the arrestees after being given their names & at times, a short bio. My heart came up in my throat and all I cud say to myself was, oh Donald, this is not good! As I continued to read & listen to the various comments, I felt sicker & sicker. I had been feeling acquittal was eminent, now, not so much.

Just one native born US citizen’s opinion....this impeachment procedure is the latest real desecration of the US Capitol over these last 4 years. Recall US Senator Pelosi tearing up President Trump’s 2019 State of the Union address in full view....contempt for an agenda and gross lack of respect for the Constitutional process. Checks and balances are skewed. Not sure what it’s going to take to “rebalance the equation”. Thanks, Mike, for keeping us posted; surely you know I for one scour your newsletter for any “winning” as I’m just not tired of it yet. ?? God bless you all here at the Newsletter and God bless the USA ????

I have completely disconnected from all news, media, Facebook etc... I read your letter. THE END.
I’m beginning to relax again I’m sick to death of what the Democrats and liberals are doing. I believe their goal is to whip up enough fear and frenzy to start killing the “cockroaches”. Hitler called the Jews rats and vermin. It’s incredible how these fanatics are the very thing they accuse others of. If Anderson Cooper has the opportunity to kill some “Trumper’s “ he probably would; as long as he would get his fancy suit dirty.
    AOC is another murderous hater.
    I can’t take anymore.
I can’t watch. I can’t bear it. I will stay in my little house as long as I’m able and take care of my veteran husband stroke victim. If they come to load us up and “exterminate” us I’ll just get shot.
I’m through with living this. I’m finished hearing about it.
I’m absolutely appalled that the Democrats are getting away with their Gestapo tactics. The GOP better stop them.
You hit it. No TV. No media. Civil war.
    That’s about it.
I’m sure the rest of the world is in total shock at our behavior and treatment of the most respected and efficient President this country has ever had.
I’m ashamed to be an American.

Trial?? Where?? On what?? For who?? No one here is watching much of anything these days due to the total and complete lack of interest in seeing elected officials make a mockery out of America. Who’s side are they on anyway— America’s or some other countries down below our border? I have nieces and nephews in grade school that know and understand more about our Constitution and how America is “supposed” to be run than some of them idiots in the senate and congress! And even after being taught truthful history of America and it’s founding fathers they don’t hate them and don’t want to go tearing their statues down! Science??? Ya, Joe knows Science!! Like I know mandarin! Nada! Proof?? Killing the keystone pipeline! There’s a great idea! Now take all the oil and put it in tank cars and pull it with locomotive power! Every day!! Why let it flow in a pipe when you can use great big Diesel engines and add to the air quality with exhaust!! Ha! Science!!!! Ha!! Somebody is getting rich already from Joe!!!! Oh yes!!

We are not watching the "kangaroo spectacle of an impeachment". We are deferring that to you, OANN, NewsMax and the Epoch News. While we do not think 17 Senators will defect, the left continues to push back hard against we conservatives. They are making a HUGE mistake and are grossly underestimating our willingness to survive and defeat their socialist agenda. We totally appreciate your newsletters. As for the defecting Rino's, they need to heed the administrations comment to the unemployed Keystone workers--"they can find another job".
