Blessings on you and your family from all the Huckabee team!

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.

Ephesians, 2:8

Help my newsletter, please

I wrote recently about an investigation into all the liberal groups that fund and feed “information” to the A.P., and how that helps to explain why so many “news stories” on subjects like “climate change” read like activist group press releases. From those stories, you’d think there is no other viewpoint other than turned-up-to-11 hysteria. But that’s not at all true, as this story shows.

Unfortunately, if I summarize that story for you, it would possibly result in this newsletter being demonetized or blocked or having our ads removed by certain Internet “gatekeepers” who have decided that their views are the only objective truths allowed to be aired in public. This is why, if you’d like to help pay my staffers so that we can keep bringing you the real stories every American needs to know, you should subscribe to the Substack version. Just click here:

You’ll find subscription plans as low as $3 a month for the full newsletter with exclusive subscriber-only content, no gatekeeper censorship, and no ads. Plus, you get a 20% discount on “Huckabee” merchandise, so unlike an electric car, it really does pay for itself! But sorry, no government subsidies.

I email daily and my politics newsletters usually take 10-15 minutes to read. I cover the news of the day and the liberal media. I write about the upcoming elections and dive deep on the Biden scandals. I will also share my opinion of the Trump indictments. I don’t think you will regret supporting a reporting of the facts, not the liberal bias the mainstream media gives you these days!

With gratitude,

Mike Huckabee

A contest for Speaker

Rep. Jim Jordan already announced that he will run for House Speaker, and now, Rep. Steve Scalise has also joined the race, despite his recent health issues.

Some Republicans are even calling for Donald Trump to take up the Speaker’s gavel, and he signaled that he would be willing to do it temporarily. I’d love to see that. He’d only have to do it for about five minutes to make all the Democrats’ heads explode.

I have a feeling the 100% of Democrats who backed Matt Gaetz and seven other Republicans in removing Kevin McCarthy as Speaker may be wishing they’d stayed out of this. In fact, they’re already learning that sabotage comes with a price, as Speaker tempore Patrick McHenry gave Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Democrat Whip Steny Hoyer one day to vacate their prized private offices.

I’m delighted to report that, according to GOP Rep. Garret Graves, Pelosi’s office will be going to…Kevin McCarthy. Graves said, “Look, the deal is that the office that Pelosi is in right now is the office of the preceding speaker. Speaker Pelosi and other Democrats determined that they wanted a new…Speaker, and [that makes the new preceding Speaker] Kevin McCarthy. So, he’s getting the office.”

Pelosi whined that this was “a sharp departure from tradition,” claiming she gave ex-Speaker Dennis Hastert “a significantly larger suite of offices for as long as he wished” when she took over.  Yes, but Hastert didn’t join an “insurrection” against Pelosi, and we know how much she hates those. Also, I don’t need a scolding about sharp departures from tradition from a woman who twice impeached a President with no evidence and who set up an “investigating” committee that didn’t allow cross examination or the other side to call witnesses. Enjoy your new broom closet, Nancy.

(The only way to make this funnier is to add the Babylon Bee’s take):

Punchbowl News founder Jake Sherman said his sources claim the GOP plans more slapbacks at the Democrats, and rightly so. I hope they’re all as amusing and well-deserved as this one.

By the way, one of the first orders of business for whoever is the next Speaker should be to axe that dumb agreement to let just one member call for a vote to fire the Speaker. As Sean Hannity so aptly put it, that’s like letting one football player call for firing the team's quarterback, and then letting members of their rival team vote on it.

As for that accusation by the eight Republicans who voted against McCarthy that he was “working for the Democrats,” it didn’t stop them from letting him help fund their election campaigns.

A new government shutdown threat

Both Democrat Sen. Cory Booker…

…and Democrat Sen. Michael Bennett warned that they’ll reject any stopgap funding bill that doesn’t include money for Ukraine and they will "definitely" shut down the government over this.

So if the government shuts down, it will be the Republicans’ fault for not giving the Democrats what they demanded or else they’d shut down the government?

No wonder Taylor Swift is a big Democrat. They’ve adopted “Look What You Made Me Do” as their new theme song.

The Border: The Border: We Told You So!

Biden DHS Secretary Alejandro “Y’all Come!” Mayorkas has finally hit on a brilliant plan for dealing with the border: he wants to build a wall. Why didn’t someone think of that before?!

Biden once vowed not to build “one more foot” of border wall. But don’t worry: this isn’t one of those ineffective, racist walls that keeps illegal entrants out. It’s just meant to stop them from coming in through the random gaps and instead come in through official entry points so they can be registered and immediately released into the US.

My question: How much would it cost to build a thick, high wall around Alejandro Mayorkas? I’m willing to make the first donation.

Appeal filed

Former President Trump isn’t waiting for the judge in his New York civil trial for fraud to hand out his inevitable punishments: his attorneys have already filed an appeal with New York’s second-highest court. Here’s a report on that which reveals that even CNN admitted that the judge's valuations of Trump properties are way off and based on criteria that's seldom used in real estate transactions…

And if you enjoy reading legalese, here’s the entire text of the appeal.

Well, here’s a twist in the Sen. Bob Menendez scandal that nobody saw come roaring up the road…

From Our “Two Can Play That Game” File:

Hunter Biden filed a lawsuit against Rudy Giuliani for somehow invading his privacy by publishing information from the laptop he forfeited by leaving it behind at a repair shop – all while still not admitting it’s his. Now, Guiliani has announced that he's suing Joe Biden for a far more solid reason: during one of the 2020 presidential debates, Biden falsely called Giuliani a “Russian operative.” Guiliani said that is a lie, and it’s cost him millions of dollars in lost clients and consulting business. He will file suit in New Hampshire and seek damages.

Guiliani said, “Joe Biden has spent his life telling lies,” and he referred to Biden as a “pathological liar.” I guess he’s not worried about Biden suing him for defamation for saying that.

The KJP show

Karine Jean-Pierry might be a terrible White House press secretary (although to be fair, nobody should have to defend this Administration for a living), but she earns her pay by keeping us all entertained. For instance, nothing on this week’s underwhelming “return of late night comedy” was anywhere near as funny as KJP trying to convince us that Democrat Rep. Henry Cuellar getting carjacked in Democrat-run Washington, DC, by three armed thugs who were undoubtedly Democrats was somehow the fault of…Republicans!

Fox News’ Peter Doocy was the only White House reporter willing to say, in effect, “Back that truck up and run it past us again!” You can read a transcript of her explanation at the link which I won’t bother to transcribe, since it’s an incomprehensible tossed word salad worthy of Kamala Harris. But I THINK she was trying to claim that DC is overrun with crime because Republicans didn’t vote for the so-called “American Rescue Plan,” a massive spending bill that passed anyway and that, she said, provided billions of dollars “to make sure communities across the country got funding so that they can indeed hire more police officers so that they can keep their community safe.”

As noted at the link, that makes no sense whatsoever. Republican support or not, the bill passed. If DC leaders got money from it, they obviously didn’t spend it on hiring cops and jailing criminals, or the streets wouldn’t be filled with criminals. And those DC leaders are all Democrats and have been for decades. Are Republicans also to blame for the rampant crime in Chicago, New York, San Francisco, Baltimore, L.A. and all the other 100% Democrat-run cities? Wow, I had no idea we were so powerful!

Related: Missouri Rep. Eric Burlison told Todd Starnes that Washington, DC, has become so dangerous due to crime that some Congress members are afraid to leave and are sleeping in their Capitol offices. He said it’s so bad that Sen. Mike Lee is suggesting it might be time for Congress to take back control of the District from local leftist officials.

I would be all for that idea if I weren’t afraid that the FBI would deal with carjackers in DC by arresting Trump voters.

Two-week-old Biden DOJ demanded IRS briefing on Hunter tax case

It didn’t take long.  Only 16 days after President Biden was sworn into office, his new ‘Justice’ Department called for a briefing from the IRS on their case against Joe’s son Hunter.

And that’s what they got, on February 5, 2021, according to email exchanges between IRS investigators-turned-whistleblowers Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler.  Five investigators from Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss’ office would be meeting with several assistant attorneys general, said Weiss’ deputy Assistant U.S. Attorney Lesley Wolf in an email to the IRS and FBI agents working the Hunter case.  (Of course you know that Wolf put major roadblocks in front of the investigators.)

Some of those attending this meeting were political appointees, and this aroused the suspicions of investigators working the case.  Lead investigator Shapley alerted the other IRS officials in the chain of command about concerns that people from Biden’s DOJ had asked to be at this meeting, especially one from the National Security Division (NSD), which had no jurisdiction.  What were these people doing there?

“We learned today that USAO [the U.S. Attorney’s Office] and DOJ Tax are briefing the new AAG on the tax case today,” Shapley’s email said.  “NSD asked for a briefing so they could understand the tax side of the case.  I don’t know what that matters to them since they are NSD...but I just wanted to give you an update that this meeting was.”

A huge question is why the National Security Division was involved at all in this case.  Recall that the NSD is the agency that created misleading warrant applications to be used in the now-discredited Crossfire Hurricane investigation of Donald Trump over a nonexistent tie to Vladimir Putin and also in the raid on Mar-A-Lago over his possession of supposedly classified documents.

John Solomon featured former House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes on Wednesday night’s JUST THE NEWS, NO NOISE.  Nunes said of the NSA, “This could be the first glimpse into what I have been saying for a very long time...that Team Obama have inserted [themselves] into the National Security Division of the FBI and the Department of Justice.  This is where the plumbers are.  This is where the operatives are.  This is where the people are that are doing the worst things at the Justice Department, throughout our government, this is where they live.”

He went on:  “This is what we found out during the Russia’s the area where they can wall off the rest of the Department of Justice and the FBI and say, ‘Oh, this is top secret.  Our nation is at risk.  Things could blow up.  People could die...if people learn about this; this is why we have to keep it so secret.  What they’ve done is, I think this place is full of a bunch of rats.  I mean, it’s what we found originally during the Russia Hoax.  I don’t think it’s changed.”

Here’s the link; Solomon gets into the subject briefly at 4:00, with Nunes coming on at 31:00.

(Side note:  During this segment, Nunes also spoke of the ouster of Kevin McCarthy from the Speaker’s chair, calling it “a bad day.”  He said that no credible person with whom he’s spoken says it was a good day for the Republican Party; it “looks ridiculous.”  Recall that this happened because of a rule change --- requiring him to allow any member to bring a vote at any time to vacate the chair --- that McCarthy accepted in order to get enough votes.  “At the end of the day, this is a team sport,” Nunes said.  “You need 218 votes to do anything.”  He offered his realistic assessment of the situation as well as suggestions for dealing with DOJ corruption.  I digress.)

Anyway, according to the breaking report in JUST THE NEWS, also last night, the DOJ’s request for a briefing “escaped public and media notice for two years,” and is now chronologically the first example we have of the Biden DOJ getting involved in the Hunter case.  The emails are part of what Shapley and Ziegler turned over to the House Ways and Means Committee as part of their cooperation as whistleblowers.  This is one more piece of evidence that Attorney General Merrick Garland was talking through his hat when he said Biden’s ‘Justice’ Department had taken a hands-off approach to the case.  At this point, we can think of no reason why any thinking person would believe anything he says, ever again, even under oath.

The congressional testimony of Shapley and Ziegler has already revealed numerous ways the IRS investigation was interfered with by the DOJ.  They were blocked from obtaining search warrants for Joe Biden’s property and Hunter’s storage locker (and the mystery name “Political figure 1” was removed).  They were prevented from even asking about Joe Biden or his grandchildren.  They’d also wanted to do a surprise interview with Hunter Biden but were kept from doing that when the DOJ contacted Hunter’s defense team and alerted them.

Shapley testified that it was Lesley Wolf who told him and his team that “I don’t think you’re going to be able to do the interviews as planned.”  He said she told him these interviews would have to be approved by the DOJ Tax Division.

This was apparently happening while Hunter’s attorney Chris Clarke had no trouble getting meetings with DOJ higher-ups.  Emails show him requesting the meetings with the head of the Criminal Division, the Tax Division, the Office of Legal Counsel, the Officer of the Solicitor General, Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco (surprise!), and Attorney General Garland.

In his public testimony before Congress this summer, Shapely said he was testifying because “the Delaware U.S. Attorney’s Office, Department of Justice Tax, and Department of Justice provided preferential treatment and unchecked conflicts of interest in an important and high-profile investigation of the President’s son, Hunter Biden.”

There’s also documentary evidence and corroborating FBI testimony that U.S. attorneys in DC and in California --- both appointed by Joe Biden --- would not let Weiss charge Hunter with tax violations in their districts.  These charges would have covered the time when Hunter was making $83,000 a month for his position on the board of Ukrainian energy company Burisma Holdings, and when then-VP Biden was Obama’s “point man” in Ukraine.  The statutes of limitations have since run out.

Much more detail is at the link, including pdf’s of testimony and documents.

John Solomon, appearing Wednesday night on HANNITY, said the IRS agents’ allegations of preferential treatment have since been validated by “thousands of pages of evidence,” and elaborating on the strangeness of the DOJ’s National Security Division being involved in a meeting about Hunter’s tax case.  “I suspect Jim Jordan and others will really hone in on this new evidence.”

“...The Merrick Garland story continues to erode.  There [were] a lot of political fingerprints of the Washington Justice Department under Joe Biden in the Hunter Biden case.”

RELATED:  Now, here’s a twist.  Biden has named his new head of the U.S. Office of Special Counsel,  the primary purpose of which is to protect whistleblowers.  Hampton Dellinger is an old legal colleague of Hunter’s, from their days at Boies Schiller Flexner.   You can’t make this stuff up.

Also, here’s an update on how, leading into the ‘24 election, the government is readying for perhaps another outbreak of “domestic violent extremism” on the part of Trump supporters.  They reportedly want to “tread very carefully” while they assess the threat posed by us so as not to inflame our passions even more.  One senior intelligence official told NEWSWEEK that “Trump’s army constitutes the greatest threat of violence...politically...that’s the reality and the problem set.”  Good grief.

Well crazy Biden is now going to take up Trump build the wall. I hope this happens. Better late than never.
My question is why is the folks (republicans/conservatives) now talking it down instead of being glad.
Fox and Newsmax seem to be displaying discontent over this decision finally to get the wall built???
    Will he really build it?
Another concern is when will we start rounding these illegals up and getting them off the tax payers payroll and deport them. Should be a felony for crossing our border illegally that way they can never vote more re- enter our USA. Need to stop them having babies in our USA do they can stay. If illegal the babies are illegal also. Need to change that right away.
