Meghan Markle's special problem...

November 30, 2017

You have to feel a little sympathy for anyone who marries into the 24/7 reality show that is the British Royal Family. But Prince Harry’s American fiancée, Meghan Markle, has a special problem: as a TV actress (she was on the USA Network series, “Suits”), she naturally made nasty public comments about Donald Trump because…well, it’s a requirement for the job, like claiming on your resume that you can ride horses and speak a foreign language. Now, she’s likely to find herself representing the UK at international diplomatic functions in which she’ll have to interact socially with President Trump. Awkward!

Longtime royal watchers are debating whether handlers will be able to get her to rein in her outspoken political opinions or if she’ll be subtly steered toward charitable functions with no other political figures in attendance. I guess that’s the price you pay when you join the non-Kansas City Royals.

Personally, I think the best solution would be to let her go to a dinner where she does meet Trump. Most people who do come out saying they were surprised that he was nothing like the monster the media led them to believe. Of course, if she said that, her career in Hollywood would really be finished. But I assume she has other plans, anyway.

I wouldn't believe every "quote" you read on Facebook. Just because Facebook says that Prince Harry said it, it doesn't mean that he actually did. Especially in this case.

I saw a Facebook post quoting Prince Harry stating that President Trump would not be invited to the wedding. That pretty much did it for me as far as honoring the royal couple’s special day. They can kiss my royal backside if they choose to insult and disrespect our President.
