Not to spend a lot of time on the blow-by-blow account of Democrats coming together to, inevitably, take Biden out of the race (and maybe the Oval Office), but here’s one moment from Wednesday that’s oddly interesting:  Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman’s expression of support for President Biden, as voiced on Jesse Watters’ FOX NEWS show.

Sporting a black hoodie (more dressy than a tan one?), Sen. Fetterman told Jesse he thinks Biden is fit to serve another term.  America, he said, “has realized that Joe Biden is old, and he certainly isn’t as sharp as he was five or ten years ago; of course that’s a reality.  But that really doesn’t mean much for me personally about me supporting the President.  I really don’t think I’ve seen anything that makes me want to change that.”  He “fundamentally” believes that Biden “has been a great President” and that, “ultimately, he can prevail.  And that’s where I’m at.”

It’s understandable why Fetterman would empathize with Biden.  “...I had a really rough debate as well, too,” he said.  “But I really want to remind anybody that I’m not the sum total of a bad debate.”

He suggested that Trump might have a good debate while saying things that were “untrue” or “not really consistent with some of the values of the majority of people.”  He did not provide examples.

“He already beat Trump,” Fetterman said, “and I think this is our best opportunity to defeat Trump again.”  (You know, the senator just might have something there.  Listen to him, Democrats, and stick with Biden as your candidate!  That’s the best way to win for sure!)

Recall that the Democrat Party did its share of covering for Fetterman, when he was running for the Senate from Pennsylvania after suffering a stroke that resulted in aphasia, or marked speaking difficulties.  We criticized that cover-up at the time, but the Biden cover-up is infinitely worse.  That’s because a stroke victim at least has the possibly of recovery; Fetterman expresses himself quite well today, with just the occasional stammer.  A dementia patient, if that’s what Biden is, will sadly only get worse --- much, much worse.  Arguably, too, a senator is just one of a hundred in a body of legislators, compared to a President who singlehandedly runs an entire branch, represents us around the world, commands the armed forces and controls the nuclear button.

Another difference:  the Biden cover-up went on for YEARS, while he steadily went downhill until he became “an elderly man with a poor memory,” as Special Counsel Robert Hur so delicately put it in a report that enraged Democrats even though they knew it was true.  Of course, if they’d been able to hide Biden’s condition until after the 2024 election, they gladly would have done so.  To protect democracy, of course.

But, Sen. Fetterman notwithstanding, Biden is almost certainly out of the race.  As of Wednesday night, after multiple defections by House and Senate Democrats, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz put the odds of them “pulling the plug,” as he put it, at 80 percent because of Biden’s obvious cognitive disability.  Still, “it doesn’t matter if they replace Joe Biden with Michelle Obama, or...with Kamala Harris,” he said.  “They all support the same disastrous policies --- out-of-control spending and debt that is driving inflation, and open borders.”  (We would suggest, though, that there’s one BIG significance to the name on the ballot, and that’s how it affects Democrats’ electability.  Democrats are all about personalities.)

And now some Democrats even at MSNBC are rethinking Joe Biden’s personality.  For years, they sold him to us as good, decent, hard-working lunch-bucket Honest Joe, while making Trump out to be a filthy-rich, volatile, uncaring, pathological liar who is “literally Hitler.”  But Chuck Todd said Biden’s refusal to leave the ticket has made him “rethink a lot of the Biden biography.  I still can’t believe he ran for President in the first place, given that his family was in crisis in 2018 [the events surrounding son Beau’s death from brain cancer]...You look at what has happened, I can’t believe he has put his family through this.  And now, looking at his behavior now, in clinging to this, I think the entire narrative on Joe Biden is gonna change, in that everything’s always been about his ambition and his ambition comes first.”

Funny they were so blind to Biden’s personal failings until now; guess they were too busy creating a false persona for Trump.  Not even Biden’s failure to acknowledge his little granddaughter brought condemnation.  No, for them to see him in this light, he had to pose a threat to their chances of winning.

David Strom at HOT AIR wrote quite entertainingly about this, saying Biden is “threatening Democrats with the complete implosion of his political party if they try to push him out.”  Dems don’t take kindly to that, and Strom predicts that “the narrative about Biden in the mainstream media is going to change and likely change quickly.”  Keep in mind, these media image-creators are all late-stage TDS sufferers, and they’re freaking out at the idea of putting a losing candidate up against Trump this fall.  Their problem isn’t that Biden is a cognitive mess but that too many voters are aware of it now.

“Todd is making it clear that the Scranton Joe image can be removed at a moment’s notice if the media chooses to do so,” he says.  The media giveth and the media taketh away.  That seems to be what they think their job as (alleged) journalists is, shaping narratives rather than just telling the truth consistently from the start.

This is telling:  THE NEW YORK TIMES is actually fact-checking Biden.  Most Democrats get a pass on verbal blunders, but not Biden.  At least not anymore.

Chuck Todd Spills the Beans About Biden: He's a Bad Man

Big donors expect to put their money on a winning horse (of course, of course), so they’re reportedly canceling fundraising luncheons during Convention Week in Chicago.  Among this crowd, sticking with Biden is increasingly viewed as political suicide.  At this point, there’s really only one person it’s important to convince that Joe Biden is on his way out, and that is...well, Joe Biden.  (It’s so obvious, you’d have to be cognitively impaired not to---oh, wait.)

Come to think of it, there’s also the oblivious Dr. First Lady, who might be almost as out of touch with reality as her husband.  And there are a few others who haven’t seen the writing on the wall.  According to NBC NEWS, a few of Biden’s aides have said privately that “if major donors don’t come along, we’ll do it without them.”  That must be coming from naive staffers who are painfully new to political campaigning.  Imagine the eye-rolls from more seasoned campaign officials.

As Jesse Watters reported Wednesday, POLITICO says Biden delegates have been “thunderstruck” by desperate calls from his campaign team to check on their loyalty.  One has to wonder what the delegates are telling them when they call.  It’s probably not printable.

With Thursday being that so-called “big boy NATO press conference,” featuring real questions and no teleprompter, one has to wonder how many Democrats are secretly hoping it’ll be awful enough to be Biden’s last hurrah.  It very likely could be, but how ironic:  the same Democrats who’ve savaged Trump for years as someone who would never relinquish power --- though he did relinquish it, just as set out in the Constitution --- are now trying to find a big enough crowbar to pry Biden, THEIR guy, out of the White House and back onto that Delaware beach.

You dance around the cause of this conundrum. The reason President Joe is where he has to do with current people with power and assets to lose if a non-conformist takes the office to a different mind-set, ie, what's best for the Nation. And... if Joe's decisions are by a secret committee, what do the current poor decisions say about that group?
