Still more proof that Twitter and CNN are not real life, so stop treating them as if they are:

A survey by the American Enterprise Institute’s Survey Center of American Life found that most Americans don’t cut off their friends over political disagreements. In fact, most don’t even talk about politics to their friends.

Only 21% say that they discuss politics at least a few times a week, while 55% talk politics less than a few times a month. That held true for both Democrats and Republicans. Both said party affiliation is not a prerequisite for being friends with someone; however, both are likely to have more friends who share the same party as they do.

Interestingly, 53% of Republicans say they have at least some friends who are Democrats, while only 32% of Democrats have friends who are Republicans. Only 15% of Americans have ever ended a friendship over political differences. But the further left you go, the more likely someone is to cut off a friend for having different political views. 28% of liberals have done that, compared to only 10% of conservatives. 33% of liberal women have done that. And the most intolerant of all are extreme liberals or “progressives.” 44% of these crusaders for tolerance have ended a friendship over political differences, making them exactly twice as intolerant as extreme conservatives (22%.)

This won’t come as a surprise to anyone who’s been paying attention recently to leftist media, social media or activists, all of whom live to gin up hatred and cancellation of anyone who disagrees with them by even a smidgeon. Someone needs to have a sincere talk with them about how they’re letting political extremism warp their priorities, narrow their minds and drive away their friends. Unfortunately, that would take someone who doesn’t agree with them on everything, and they no longer talk to anyone like that.

I can certainly verify this! One of my nieces unfriended me on FB in 2016 after I commented on her post. She was ranting about how Donald Trump had won the election (surprised me too) and I posted "Tell us how you really feel!" Next thing I knew, I could no longer see her page!

Those preaching tolerance proved to be intolerant....... make it simple enough proof in signage and put that on billboards across America!
You have the right words and the right frame of mind making you informative AND enjoyable. I can smile (sometimes) at even bad news when you present it.

The governor of Vermont should have done his homework. The state of Washington went full mail-in ballots in 1985 and has not had a Republican governor nor Congressional majority since. If he had taken a look back at Rossi v Gregoire, and seen how by the third recount Gregoire just happened to manufacture enough extra votes to win, he might have thought about this less than safe way to vote again. Registering to vote here takes place online with a simple check box. Need I say more?

I don't think we need to know how they did this, you know they can read and write also.
Let them dig for the how and where for not tell them how to do it better next time.

Just plain stupid on your part and the news media also!

I prepare taxes professionally and have completed over 170 returns for clients this year. Most of my clients are people of color. As part of the process, I routinely ask for photo ID. Since refunds are usually electronically deposited in a bank... it is a requirement as part of the US Patriot Act. The number of my clients who have been unable to provide photo ID this year? Exactly ZERO. Everyone has a photo ID. The Democratic argument that people of color don't have access to photo IDs is baloney. Requiring photo ID to vote will discriminate against exactly NO ONE.

Just read your article about conservatives and dems in friendships. We had friends that we hung around with all the time. She started talking about hating President Trump. Despite my efforts to telling her to keep her thought to herself. She persisted. Sadly we are no longer friends. No give and take in that relationship

Now that we no longer have women and moms in society replaced by "birthing people", we can all breathe a little easier. Reminds me of the time we replaced " now" with "at this point in time" which was a revolutionary advance in communicating. These lefty clowns had better be reigned in soon. If I were a female I would be insulted. It is past time for people to send a clear signal that enough is enough!
