After sneeringly dismissing the raises and bonuses many workers enjoyed due to the GOP tax cut as “crumbs,” House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi is now desperately trying to put a negative spin on the latest eye-popping economic news.

A quick round-up: an unexpectedly high 223,000 jobs were created in May; unemployment fell to 3.8%, trying a record low set 49 years ago; in just one month, black unemployment plummeted from a previous record low of 6.6% to a new record low of 5.9 percent; and the Atlanta Federal Reserve just estimated that the recent quarterly GDP growth hit an annualized rate of 4.8%. That’s the kind of economic growth number that Barack Obama and his acolytes assured us was no longer possible, and that 1 to 2% growth was now the “new normal.” Turns out it was really just the old pathetic.

So when the economy under the Republicans is roaring like a lion in a Ferrari, how do the Democrats win over voters? They could renounce the kind of high tax, big government policies that kept growth stifled until recently, but they have no other platform. So Nancy Pelosi has taken on the unenviable task of trying to convince us that stupendous GDP growth and record low unemployment are just more meaningless crumbs.

Her spin is that the low unemployment numbers “mean little” to Americans who are struggling with the GOP’s “cruel, cynical health care sabotage campaign” (i.e., trying to root out Obamacare), which is “already spiking families’ premiums by double digits.”

I hate to bring this up – well, actually, I don’t – but under Obamacare, the bill Rep. Pelosi had to pass so she could find out what was in it, premiums were already spiking by double digits, and in some cases, triple digits. Plus Americans won't have to worry so much about premiums now that there are a growing number of good full-time jobs with benefits, which under the Democrats was like trying to find a MAGA cap in Barbra Streisand's closet.

Rep. Pelosi went on, “Democrats know that the American people deserve A Better Deal, with Better Jobs, Better Wages and a Better Future…We are committed to creating millions of new good-paying jobs and raising wages, lowering the soaring cost of living for families and giving every American the tools to succeed in the 21st Century economy.”

Wow, that sounds great! So…how are you gonna do that? By raising taxes on businesses? And if you know how to do it, why didn’t you do it when you had the chance? From 2008 to 2010, Democrats controlled both Congress and the White House. What they gave us was Obamacare, which along with other big government policies, helped depress GDP growth and hiring for years past the official end of the recession. It’s one thing to toss out cotton candy phrases like “Better Jobs, Better Wages.” But how do you plan to do that now when you seemed utterly incapable of it the last time you were in charge?

Personally, I’d say that anyone who can dismiss a two dollar-an-hour raise, a $1000 bonus, 4.8% GDP growth and record low unemployment as “crumbs” really takes the cake.

All economic news is good, but government spending has still increased. without a changer in direction there, the economic news means little. No matter what party is in charge, government spending increases/ None of this news makes me feel secure.

We, ages 71 and 70, use to be Democrats until Jimmy Carter took office and we watched with horror how their values changed so dramatically. We fit the "poor" category back then and thought all Republicans were Republican because they were rich. We looked even closer at the Republican values and found good decent people who were hard working and made excellent leaders in their families and churches. The very things we sought to be. I hear Democrats like Pelosi and Schumer speak about their values as if they are something to be desired but greed and a long tenure feeds their drives to stay, not the people. A shame she and he are still heard spewing their idea of what all of us Americans need. The one thing we DON'T need are the likes of these two and all those like them.

Democrats propose giving the American people a better deal, higher wages, better jobs, a brighter future just like they had under under the inept practices of Obama till Pres. Trump came along.

Pelosi doesn't have a clue as to what's going on in the real world. This "fat cat" is all secure in her wealth and her secured home. The messages she is sending out don't make sense to people that can think for themselves. Yes, $1,000 is "crumbs" to her since her income is far greater than that of the lower and middle class people. However, I hope the day will come when she recognizes that TRUMP has made a far better POTUS than Hillary could have been. GO TRUMP!

For eight years her party did only the just enough the make the voters think they (dems) were helping the people only to stimy us. Now they say chrums. I would like to know what lie they will spin now to get elected. But then it seams the voter is short minded

Pelosi reminds me of the kind of person who complains no matter what, and has everyone on the hook thinking that she is the expert because everyone hears what she is saying, because she doesn't shut up.
    All talk Nancy!!
Fortunately, more people are calling her bluff.
Gotta just laugh at her so called logic!!!!

My only comment is - "How can we keep Congress and the Senate from spending our money?" They do not have the right to go on a spending spree at our expense. They are taking our money and instead of using it to pay down the debt which is where is should go; they are securing their retirements and trying to secure their positions by spending money on social programs they do not need. Instead of making sure our futures are cared for. So, to sum up - we have a President who cares very much for us and the future of our Great Nation, our children and grandchildren. He cares enough until all of America is now better off than it has been in years. And we have a group of people who send out flyers just before election time to tell us how much they care for us. But what they do not tell us is how they have mishandled our money that we paid into the Government to be able to PAY OFF OUR DEBT, instead they continue to spend...….Please Stop!!! My husband previously worked for the phone company. Our friendly republican congressman who was more democratic than republican, called for a town meeting for the phone company employees to originally tell us how he had secured funds to keep the company employees from going on strike.....INSTEAD he with a smile on his face, told everyone in the room that he had exchanged my husband's and our future for a pork barrel he could not pass up......He took his own personal retirement for his financial account and left us standing...….He truly believed we are stupid and had no idea what he was talking about.....and that is what most of the government officials think.

    It needs to stop.....

    God Bless You

If the Democrats ever get into office again, our country is history. No one will know though since history is either no longer taught in schools or being changed by the left. I am glad to have experienced our country before all this nonscience began.

Telling "untruths", lies for short, are running amok among liberals and Democrat leaders. While conservatives who tell it like it really is are being censored. On my personal Twitter account, I was suspended for telling the facts about a 1400 yr old ideology, as an example.
It's amazing to me that people are not seeing through Pelosi's deception.

Governor: Thanks for your clear thinking and analysis about what is really happening to the economy in the USA, now that POTUS Trump has unleashed the economic power of our industries. All Nancy and the DEMS have to offer is another "handout" for not working and trying to tell the American people that her way is better. In my opinion, being able to have a "real" job and living in a thriving economy is what most people really want. They know that when the economy is growing their jobs will continue to provide increased financial benefits for them and their families.

I have seen so much about the state of the Union and the degrading remarks that only a 2 year old would say it's become very sad. Yesterday the Lord reminded that we are in a battle (spiritual) and many warriors are wounded and some even killed. Am important point that helps me keep it in perspective. These groups, both political and religious, who seek to undermine this nations are puppets in the hand of the master Deceiver. I've met some in churches. We can no longer be like "ostriches" with our heads in the sand.

I'll take those crumbs. But, we still have an albatross around our necks...Obamacare. My wife whose insurance was cancelled in favor of the AHC act now has to pay upwards to $700 per month with outrageous deductibles. This is affordable?? I being retired, my wife is not, think this legislation is the worst ever passed and need to be replaced with something reasonable. We don't even have much choice in Florida. Past time for Congress to act.

The utter corruption of democrat leadership , the media, foundations, super rich liberal colleges and professors is destroying our Republic while Christians and conservatives take a back seat of cowardice and inertia. “Well what can Ido?” Get off your sorry lazy butt and vote fight, get informed , contend for the faith, motivate family and friends to be informed watching the voting records in congress holding politicians feet to the fire.

We look forward to your no nonsense political reports and analysis. I think Our economy is improving faster than expected. Tax cuts have been one of the factors. An area that needs to be cut is the “fat” in school budgets. The school districts have become a dynasty that go to extremes to stay below the radar. It is painful to see teachers dig in their own pocket for teaching supplies when a district school supt. charters an airplan to go to meetings in the state capitol, request more money to cover short falls, then ask for a raise.

I was on a school board in a western state. After 2 years of analyzing expenditures and budgets, we were able to reduce the budget by 8%. This did not cost the loss of one job. There were several that resigned or threatened to. We accepted their their threat as notice. After 4 years property taxes went from 54% down to 46% with this state ranking in the lower 10% up to middle 50%.

It can and should done by all schould be done

That is hilarious ! I don’t recall anything “ good for America “ that the Democratic Party is responsible for doing in the last fifty years ! They have done plenty of things that were “good for themselves and the Democratic Party”, but NOT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ! Most politicians are looking for two things: How big a name they can make for THEMSELVES and how big of a fortune they can make for THEMSELVES ! If they truly cared about the American people, things would never be divided the way they are today.

There is a civil war going on in our country. The left is fueled and funded by:
    The Russians
    The Chinese
    The Muslims
    Individually - George Soros

These groups and individuals have infiltrated the mainstream news media and our educational system. The former great President John F. Kennedy warned us about this in one of his most important and noteworthy speeches. President Trump is the first President to try to reverse this. We can defeat the left that are characterized by anti-American, anti-Semitic, anti-Israel, and anti-Freedom and Democracy. Also, the Democratic Party has also been taken over by this group of evil.

We must s t be strong and vigilant, and not give up.

The answer to Pelosi is to set term limits on representatives to the U.S. House and Senate. Plus no one over the age of 75 years can serve in either house. There is much danger to having representatives too young, or representatives too old. I have been young and am now 77, so I know young and old.

I am 66 and have not been able to find a decent job for over 3 years now. I lost almost everything I had in the Great Recession, and have not been able to recover. Currently I am short by at least $1,000 each month to be able to put a roof over my head. I can not get employed in a job that would give me enough to live on. Those unemployment numbers do not reflect those of us who have dropped out of the job market because we can not find work here in Columbus, Ohio. Women have always been underpaid here. I am originally from Upper Arlington, graduated in 1970, have three years of completed education at OSU and am always told I am over qualified. I have 6 years IT experience, 10 years in the health field, 8 years in reatail and customer service. I am really tired of sleeping in my car now for over 2 years. My body and overall health are starting to show the effects of stress I am currently living under. I have been praying for God to give me an answer to this widespread problem and to move these strongholds out of my life. What would you suggest I do? Sincerely, Christene Martin.

Pelosi and Schumer are pathetic at best. The Democratic party is a perverse organization. They and the whole Congress needs to read Romans chapter one in the KJV bible. It clearly explains how the nations that reject God are turned over to reprobate minds and God's position on homosexuality just another sin. not an acceptable life style.
Strange how no one in authority or the national news has suggested that the mass shootings only began after God's commandments were removed from the schools.
And the abortions in this country alone make the holocaust pale in comparison in numbers. Guns don't pull their own triggers. Reprobate minds do.

GDP doesn't mean diddly to a family whose had their jobs jerked out from underneath them due to relocation of the employer. Actually, it doesn't mean diddly to most of us anyway! We want to see the demographics even our or better in our favor where we live. Sky rocketing rents and home prices do not help along with crippling health care costs...I continue without health care simply because I CANNOT afford it. ( why pay a $5k deductible to a company and monthly payments when I use less than $500.00? Doesn't make much sense.) But I do know, by experience, that if you don't have insurance, they give you an aspirin and send you home...(husband was bleeding all over their carpet in ER but they continued to take those with insurance first...)

I agree with you Mr. Huckabee. Our President has done a great job in just a short period. I would love to see him win another term.
The only way to drain the swamp is to limit to 2 terms & take away lifetime salaries. Congress should have the same healthcare all other American citizens as well. The should be no special benefits given to them. That way Congress will stop getting rich off of the tax payers.
