By Mike Huckabee

The talking heads on CNN make so many biased and ignorant comments about conservatives and Christians that I hardly consider it news anymore and seldom even bother to comment. This is especially true of Don Lemon. But yesterday, he went so far beyond offensive and made me angry enough that I had to call him out on it.

During an interview with New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, Lemon was talking about the tearing down of statues of the Founders because they weren’t perfect people when he said this:

“Jesus Christ, if that’s who you believe in, Jesus Christ, admittedly, was not perfect when he was here on this Earth.” Shockingly, Cuomo, who is Catholic and should know better, let that slide by without objection. It suggests that he subscribes to the same strange form of Catholicism as Nancy Pelosi, who seems to think that abortion is a sacrament.

The Bible makes it very clear in numerous places that Christ was the only perfect person ever to walk the Earth. This article at Faithwire.com cites a few of the passages.

Among those verses are that Jesus “knew no sin” (2 Corinthians 5:21), was “a lamb without blemish or spot” (1 Peter 1:19) and is “holy and blameless, unstained by sin” (Hebrews 7:26). In John 10:30, Jesus says, “I and the Father are one,” and Matthew 5:48 tells us that “your Father which is in Heaven is perfect.”

It’s bad enough that CNN has become a fountain of stupidity, but the stupidity has now crossed the line into blasphemy. It’s also telling that a top anchor on CNN is so utterly out of touch with the majority of Americans, who are Christians. The media’s hostility to people of faith is obvious, but now, so is the fact that they’re hostile toward a belief system about which they don’t even know the most fundamental tenet.

I believe there’s a word for hating people you know nothing about: “bigotry.” Liberals might not care if they commit blasphemy, but maybe that will force them to do a little self-examination and, to use one of their favorite phrases, “educate themselves.”

Last night, President Trump gave an exclusive interview to Fox News’ Sean Hannity. You can hear the entire interview at the link, and read excerpts of the main points, including Trump’s assertion that Joe Biden has been “brainwashed” by the far left, and that when Biden said he was taking cognitive tests “constantly,” he really meant “COVID tests.” That would make more sense, in more ways than one.

As exasperating as the news is that Judge Emmet “Captain Ahab” Sullivan refused to comply with an order by the DC Circuit Court of Appeals and drop the case against Michael Flynn, it’s hardly unexpected. After all, the original Captain Ahab just kept pursuing his great white whale until (spoiler alert!) it finally dragged him down to his watery grave.

The investigation of the attempted coup against the Trump Administration has uncovered widespread misconduct in the FBI and DOJ, including evidence that Flynn was set up, he did nothing wrong and the FBI knew it, and exculpatory evidence that should have been turned over to his attorneys was hidden. The DOJ rightly requested that the case be dropped, which is the prosecutors’ prerogative. But Sullivan, attempting to act as both judge and prosecutor, still refuses, even after being ordered by his superiors to hang it up. He’s clinging to a novel legal theory that if a defendant changes his plea, he can be charged with perjury for making the plea he withdrew (and never mind that we now know Flynn’s initial guilty plea was coerced: after having lost his job, reputation, home and life savings, he was being threatened with having the same done to his son if he didn’t plead guilty.)

It's obvious that there is no real case against Flynn, but Sullivan apparently hopes either to force Trump to pardon Flynn so it can be made into a political issue, or else drag the case out beyond the election in hopes that anti-Flynn conspirator Joe Biden is elected. Then the coup cabal can return to power, kill the investigation into their own misconduct, cover up their crimes and go right back to their unconstitutional abuses of government power against political opponents, just as if Hillary had been elected in 2016.

So now, the case will have to be heard again by the entire DC Circuit Court. If there is any justice remaining in Washington at all, let us pray that the judges quickly dispense with this unfunny farce, release Flynn so that he can get on with the serious legal business of suing the pants off of the people who targeted him, and order that Sullivan be removed from the bench and have to run 15 laps around the courthouse. I know that last part isn’t technically within their constitutional powers, but that hasn’t been much of a factor in this case so far.

More proof that the COVID-19 (Chinese) coronavirus is a registered Democrat: New York City Mayor Bill DeBlasio has banned all large gatherings though September because they might spread the virus…except “social justice” protests, of course.

Meanwhile, the Democrat mayor of Houston canceled the GOP Convention, claiming it might spread the virus, just weeks after he participated in mass anti-police protests in the streets of his own city. Republicans have filed a lawsuit over that.

In a related story, I saw a “health expert” on Fox News claiming that this week’s surge in coronavirus cases was due to people being careless at Fourth of July celebrations. Since the incubation period is 2-14 days, with the average being 4-5 days for symptoms even to appear, and he was saying this just four days after the holiday weekend, I find it rather hard to believe that all those people contracted it on the Fourth and already were showing symptoms and had seen doctors and been diagnosed and counted just four days later. Gee, I wonder if there were any other large gatherings where people were careless about social distancing that started before the Fourth of July?...

But this is how CNN works to spread their rumors, lies and as the president accurately calls it, "fake news." The lie that Jesus was not perfect, the lie that President Trump is a racist Russian spy and so many other atrocities is why you hear weak minded Democrat and other liberals repeating what they heard someone claim on CNN or MSNBC.

Mr Lemmon's comment on our Lord and Savior is certainly objectionable. I'm sure he is so full of himself that he would never have examples from a book he's likely never read. However, the sin of wrath is one of the 7 deadly sins. In James 1:20 we read "... human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires." Although, Christ's anger toward those desecrating His father's house and His actions are easy to understand it wasn't behavior His father desires.

How do we cancel Don Lemon and CNN. Are there Christian Businesses that could leave CNN. How do we stand for the cause of Christ.

    Mr. Huckabee,
Why do you insist on using the term “Chinese” virus for the Covid-19 coronavirus. I do not dispute the fact that the virus originated in Wuhan, China and that the Chinese government is guilty of withholding the facts of its severity from the rest of the world. However, the continued use of such labeling by the president and someone of influence, such as yourself, is dangerous to Asian-Americans and as you well know, has resulted in verbal and physical attacks on innocent people. As an Asian-American, second generation, born and raised in America, this is the only country I have ever known. I used to believe in the “Melting Pot” concept of America and believed that ethnic and cultural diversity was valued in this country. Lately however, I have come to realize that the “Melting Pot” of America only applies if you are caucasian and of European ancestry. I am deeply saddened.

"It’s also telling that a top anchor on CNN is so utterly out of touch with the majority of Americans, who are Christians." While the majority of Americans may identify as Christian versus pagan or another religion, it is very obvious that the majority of Americans are not true Christians, as in faithful followers of Jesus Christ and living by his principles and commands.

Don Lemon also told a black man (I think an actor) who was on his show and was questioning where BLM was when black children were being killed by black men, that BLM is ONLY about police brutality, and that if he (the guest) wanted anything done about gun control, other violence against blacks, etc, that he needed to go out and start his own "movement". In other words, Don Lemon came out and unashamedly announced that BLM really has no concern whatsoever about innocent black lives! I doubt it, but I'd hope that liberals listening to him might have some second thoughts and a revelation about BLM!!!

If Jesus of Nazareth the Christ was not prefect, then all we believe in is for nothing. The birth, death, burial and resurrection was for nothing he became sin for us. If you can't believe in that very simple thing then just think you might be roommates with hitler.

Thank you Gov Huckabee.....I can believe that Don Lemon would say something like that. He is so out of touch, and hates Pres. Trump! I never watch CNN, MSNBC or even the major networks anymore!! Such bold faced lies! I am almost 80 years old, and I have NEVER in my lifetime, seen such hatred for a sitting President!! I do watch Fox News, and I think Pres. Trump is doing a fantastic job!! As you are, as well!! Love listening to you on Fox News, and also your Huckabee program! Keep on, keeping on!! God bless you and your family!!

I wish the 80% of us that are not black would stand up and claim that All lives matter. There is no racism in this Country (I am Hispanic); if it was, Obama would never have been President. Any black person can freely do whatever they want, profession, trade, business, politics, sports, etc. Where is the racism?

Dear Mike: I wish to have the power and money to publish common sense thoughts like this:
"White policemen don't kill black people, occasionally they kill a black criminal resisting arrest"
This by no mean justify the amount of damage generated by that incident.

Catholics are not Christians. They do not really believe in our Lord Jesus Christ. They are taught from an early age not to read their bible and only believe in what the Pope and Bishops teach. They pray to Jesus's mother Mary, not The Lord. The bible is very succinct in saying "The only way to the Father is through the Son", not his mother. Plus on his death on the cross we were allowed to pray directly to him and confess to him, not a priest in a booth. Their houses are filled with false idols of Mary. As a Christian we are taught to not have idols or worship false god's. I have many friends that in their middle life renounced the Catholic Church and became a born again Christians. They now read their bibles every day and we have bible classes. I pray for all Catholic's to see the light and change.

Sir, First let me thank you for your letters. It helps me understand the news better. I read , with horror, the article about CNN's Don Lemon. If he was a Baptist and educated in a Catholic school he has truly become an apostate and will have to answer at the final judgement before his God and Judge. I am reminded of Paul's letter to Timothy concerning the time we are in today.

    "3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables." 2 Timothy 4"3-4 KJV.

I know we are to pray for others but it becomes so hard when one "Turns" away from God after having know of Him.

Time wasted if you listen Leomon or any Cuomo I think people should take an antibody just being close or listened to them. Toxic hateful fools. Got no time for such fools. I am sorry for time lost Mike. Are we looking for the NFL to start I know why the players kneel during the Anthem about 650 players have been arrested for crimes that are sweep under the rug not to expose the Thugs that play for the League. Selling, using Drugs ,Rape,Manslaughter, women beating, DUI, Fathering children and just leaving them. (DOG BREEDING), moving violations, hit and run just to name a few. And Dads bring their kids to watch these Thugs play football. Of course the League has good people playing however if you should say something as a player and its not on the recommended list of talking points you have to publicly say your sorry. Great League one of the best I probably won't watch along with NBA or MLB. Its minor League BB for me college BB for me and women's fastpicth softball.

Dom can't help but be sanctimonious since he knows all there is to know, and that is exactly the problem with people like him. there are those who know little and know they know little. There are those who think they know little but are actually quite knowledgeable. And then there are people like Dom, and unfortunately there are many like him, that don't know anything and think they know everything. His downfall will not be pretty when he kneels before God and the Savior Jesus. It is a very sorrowful thought, really, to know someone like him is so willing to condemn themselves. John 3:16 is a very popular verse, and should be, but if one reads on thru the next 3-4 verses, one finds you are the one condemning yourself if you don't believe Jesus is the Son of God.

    Hi Gov,
Love your newsletter. You are not only a great writer, but trustworthy!
Regarding your comments about Lemon's ignorance and blasphemy regarding the perfection of Jesus (which goes double for Cuomo's cowardice/ignorance/participation-by-silence), thanks so much for calling them out on it.
But precisely because I admire you so much, I thought you wouldn't mind a slight correction, and all the while knowing of your Baptist minister background, and knowing the different way that Baptists and Catholics view and offer differing biblical texts and "proofs" for each side's position.:)
First, it would be better to refer to Jesus as the only perfect man, which would be universally true and non-problematic from a Catholic point of view. Obviously, being the Son of God, the God-Man, he is sinless and full to an infinite degree of every goodness and perfection. He is in a class all his own. But when you say "perfect person" you run into two problems. First, regarding Jesus, it suggests, by saying "who ever lived," that you are saying he is a human "person," when all Christians (Catholics and Protestants) admit the formula that Jesus has two natures: human and divine; two wills: human and divine; and two intellects: human and divine; but he is only one "person" and that is divine, who is the Eternal Word who in time took to himself a human nature, so he is a divine person who possesses both human and divine natures.
And one more thing, Mary, though not divine and not infinite and human only, nevertheless is held by Catholics to be sinless, and "perfect," not in the sense of infinitude (as already noted) but in the sense of living out in her humanity the perfection of what she received from God, and not deviating from it but rather fulfilling it in every respect that was completely pleasing to God.
In conclusion, and to repeat, I commend you 100% for being who you are, for being a rare champion of sane politics and thorough research with an unashamed Christian perspective, and I probably voted for you in some Pres primary at one time or another. And I realize that you may already know the things I have mentioned, and you chose the words you did because 90% of Americans of any faith would be unfamiliar with the finer points I have mentioned, so you chose simplicity. But sometimes it's possible to choose simple words that can be both accurate and non-contradictory of established understandings.
If you've read this far, thanks for listening. and keep up the good work!!
I know you probably would never have time, but if you ever want to explore some of the things I've mentioned, feel free to call me at 337 781 8846.
    God bless

As far as I am concerned these people hate President Trump so much that they will say or do anything to make President Trump look bad. These people do not know what they are talking about. I never watch any news except Fox News.
