Welcome to 21st century liberal Hollywood, where actor Chris Pratt is forced by the PC police to backtrack and apologize for saying something that’s so obviously true that you can tell it just by looking at the plummeting movie ticket sales.

And while we’re talking about people who make assumptions about race and gender, and who open their mouths without first engaging their brains, why did his critics automatically assume that when he said, “I don’t see personal stories that necessarily resonate with me, because they’re not my stories. I think there’s room for me to tell mine, and probably an audience that would be hungry for them. The voice of the average, blue-collar American isn’t necessarily represented in Hollywood,” he was talking exclusively about white males?

Commentary continues below advertisement

News flash to the SJWs who threw a Twit-storm at Pratt: out here in “flyover country,” there are an awful lot of blue collar workers of all races and religions, many of whom are women. Quite a few even vote Republican (gasp!) I’m a white male, but their stories would resonate with me, and I’d like to see them on screen. Maybe Hollywood movie makers should try visiting sometime, talk to some of those conservative, religious, blue collar workers they apparently disdain, and see about scheduling an attitude adjustment.

Please leave me a comment below. I read them!

Re: Political Correctness. The political police and their insistence on what they like to call political "correctness" along with their freedom robbing "or else" and their redefining of the meanings and usages of words are just some of the methods being used by America's domestic enemies designed as "thought control" with the intent to indoctrinate the mentally unstable American masses and grandually rearrange any of their normal thinking to line up with their confused, unBiblical, unConstitutional, unAmerican, destructive, insane and evil way of thinking... and when more than half the country " thought" voting for Obama TWICE was a good idea, and 'til yet craves his return, even through in the two books he wrote BEFORE he was elected the first time he told the world who he was and what he intended to do, so why is anybody surprised at what he set out to do?...and when more people now don't even seem to know which gender they are, I'd say the enemy is enjoying great success, wouldn't you ?! There's more than one way to conquer a nation and it's people, and it can be done "without firing a shot" so warns the Bible's God and understood by Webber with his "how to slowly boil the frog to death" and Nikita Khruschev, when in his address to Western Ambassadors at the Polish embassy in Moscow on November 18, 1956, Kruschev told them: We will BURY YOU! We can’t expect the American People to jump from Capitalism to Communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving them small doses of Socialism, until they awaken one day to find that they have Communism. We do not have to invade the United States, we will destroy you from within.” ....just by getting you to THINK the way we want you to, in which case, you will destroy yourselves and your once the most blessed by God and greatest nation that has ever existed in all of human history

Much enjoy your newsletter. I'm much ashamed of the city of Portland (in my state of Oregon) for it's "sanctuary city" status, and amused/amazed/disgusted at it's Mayday riot. Keep up your good work, and stay politically "incorrect" :-)

Mr. Huckabee, you are just as brilliant a minister as a "politician"! Thank you for speaking out against Hollywood hog wash! Living in Kentucky, I was so inspired when you came for Kim Davis. Given that Hollywood never whined and cried about her jailing and similar incidents like they do about so many other things like, well, THE TRUTH and President Trump, they need to be exposed for the hypocritical, whiny, cry babies that they are. And I haven't seen anybody else as prominent like you, do so. Nor stand up for good people such as Kim Davis and Chris Pratt amongst so many others. To say "thank you," would be a real understatement in and of itself....

I'm at an age (69) that all PC is a load crap. You don't like what I have to say or what I do, don't listen to me or leave. You don't like the way this the laws of this country, work to change them in a legal way or carry your happy ass some where else, like where you came from!!!!

Greetings Mr Huckabee Sir, I really look forward to any and all your commentaries and comments in general. Political correctness is a problem alot of people adhere to and are mostly the left wing, liberal cry babies that only want their little way in every circumstance that comes along and that will benefit themselves! They are the ones that feel like everyone else owes them something especially their parents and then the government as they get older! Nobody owes you anything! Get a job and take care of yourself and family!

Political Correctness is one of the worst ideas in the history of this Country. It means that you have no backbone and stand for nothing. You go along with anything to keep from offending someone. When someone is dead wrong, they need to be called out and offended if necessary. Otherwise anything goes. Luckily we have a President who understands this---Now.

Dear Mike, I really enjoy your comments ; I find them refreshing and honest, and look forward to them every day! I especially like your thoughts on Tinsel town. I have spent over survived over forty years in the "business"and I am a conservative. I just wanted to let you know that there are quite a few of us who share your feelings. If one of those "Hollywood movie makers" would visit Oklahoma and speak to one of those blue collar workers (of whom I am one), an 'attitude adjustment' may be scheduled for them, with or without their consent. Ask the Westboro "Baptist Church" how well their visit to MacAlester worked out for them.

Thanks for being the reasonable voice in the room, Mike. Whenever my husband and I look at each other and say, "What has happened...the world has gone crazy!" you and your level-headed, matter-of-fact analysis puts us back on track feeling much better! We look forward to you commentaries!

    04/26/2017 04:42 PM

I agree that political correctness is nothing more than trying to shut the mouths of sensible people, taking their rights from them in order for the hate groups, anti-American, and those who must have been released early from the mental wards to purchase bull-horns and find the nearest news camera. The United States is a great country and the hard working, "love our country", defend our faith and respect our laws crowd spoke out loud with their vote for President Trump. Thank you, Mike, for telling it like it is.

I look forward to your daily comments. I view myself as leaning conservative especially about the economy but probably. It as conservative as you are on social issues. For example, while being against abortion in general, there are certain circumstances where it may be the least bad choice. However, late term is nothing more than infanticide unless it is to literally save the life of the mother.

As to political correctness. It would seem that it applies only to liberal causes, not to conservative causes. For example, it is just fine to say the most heinous things about Christians, or white men in genteral.

I visited Israel a couple of years ago. Wonderful experience!

I totally agree Mike! Hollywood is really missing out on mid-America and the hundreds of thousands of human interest stories. I am so sick of Political Correctness and am often accused of not being PC - which I readily admit! The truth eventually wins out. When I was very critical of Barack Obama's policies, I was accused of being a racist, which the SJW's like to use when they have no defensible argument. What really appalls me though, is how seeming educated people fall for all the Fake News being pushed by the liberal media. Finally, all the efforts to remove "offensive" team names, building names on campuses, flags, statues and memorials representing our history, etc. reminds me a lot of the destruction ISIS has done to antiquities in the Middle East. Yes, I guess you could say I am comparing the liberal left to ISIS in terms of their wanting to shape history to their liking and mold society in their "twisted" image!
Finally, I love your daily e-mails and would like to meet you if you ever come back to Harrison, Arkansas for a visit. I would even buy you lunch or supper!

I don't have a comment on Political Correctness - I'm trying to stay positive today. I just wanted to tell you how much I look forward to your emails. The combination of insight and humor makes it the best column available! In this world of "fake news" it is refreshing to find the truth. I applaud your courage and energy to give so much to our country over the years. May God continue to bless you.

    Amen Mike!
Whether it is Professional Sports, Hollywood, or just the Alphabet Communist Networks, the PC Agenda is driving normal Americans away in droves! This however is not an American thing at all, it is the Globalist Agenda, being shoved down our throats, by European Elites and UN Bureaucrats! However it is proving to be more difficult than they anticipated and People of the world are not as ignorant, as they had hoped with Dewey's Brainwashing! The EU is collapsing from its own over-reach, of enabling and forced Islamic re-settlement and in the US Entertainment is being Boycotted along with the NCAA, NFL, NBA and several Department store chains, for their failure to realize, We won't be bullied! Now if we could just get people like you to Expose the Federal Governments violation of the Establishment clause, for the last 50+yrs., we might be able to Dismantle the Socialist stranglehold placed on us by Congress and the Courts. In brief, Congress has violated the Establishment clause by establishing Secular Humanism as the State Supported and Enforced Religion, of the USA. They promote Darwin and Dewey over Creation and Christianity, through funding of Museums, Zoos, National Parks and Educational Curriculum and has even now in the SCOTUS Obergafell case, the SCOTUS declared in violation of the first amendment, Secular Humanism is the USA's State Religion, not the Christianity we were founded on! Please won't you take up this mantle, as I have been complaining and petitioning Politicians for over 20yrs, to no avail? In fact just sent another letter to my Congressman Todd Rokita a week ago and as usual no reply, or even a comment as to why not! Thanks and Have a Blessed Day!

While I am no fan of Hollywood PC falling stars in all fairness to at least one Hollywood producer he recently produced a movie about an ultra-conservative, WW2 war veteran named Desmond Doss, who stood his ground in the face of persecution for his religious beliefs and then was willing to die to save those same people. My hat goes off to Mel Gibson for the courage to make this film.

Thank you for the emails I read them every day they are insightful and at times humorous. I have a question what happen to all the hoopla over the Fair Tax? Don't know if President Trump is aware of it and it's positive affect on our funding the government. Best of all we get rid of the 16th amendment and the IRS. Thank you Sir and God Bless.

Mike, your column is one of the few that I have not filtered to relegated to either the trash or to a folder for later reading. I welcome them, not just because they generally reflect my point of view, but because they're rational, have a modicum of light-heartedness, and provide me with wonderful metaphors and persuasive arguments to suppport those views. (I also welcome opposing views if they meet the same criteria; but it's difficult to find them.)
I was a "commpassionate conservative" long before George W. added the epithet to the nation's lexicon. My first vote was for Eisenhower (I've been around for a while). And I left Harvard to go to war (as a Marine night-fighter pilot, and Cornell to become an Eastern Air Lines captain. I've failed miserably at investing but learned enough about it to have had a book published (now in its third printing and published in Japan) and had a vigorous national lecture schedule to teach others to do it successfully. I founded and chaired a successful software company, having created the software to implement my methodology and sold it in 2003. And I've campaigned to introduce financial literacy in the schools.

I cite these things only to let you know that I've been around the block some.

But I'm having a problem with the fact that, according to well-qualified polls, 67% of Repubilcans reject evolution, and reject climate change regardless of whether it's caused by human activity or not. When I read this and found other data to corroborate it, I was stunned!

Look, I'm an old guy (87 in a couple of months); but I've got a few Millennials in my family and seem to be able to relate to them. (We socialize only with Baby Boomers because we don't want to be stuck in conversations restricted to maladies and doctor visits.) And the ignorance that this segment of the fly-over part of our country reflects in these attitudes is just not going to get it!

Whoever or whatever created our species also gave us, uniquely, the intelligence to discover things, learn things, and apply what we learn to making the world a better place. And, for that matter, He, She, or It gave us the wisdom to protect and perpetuate our species and our planet (and beyond). We need to face it, use that wisdom, and come together to bridge our controversies and combine our talents to do the Creator's work; for that's part of the reason we were given life.

I'll step down from my soap box now; but, much as I think any of Mr. Trump's primary opponents could have made a better president, I understand that the voice of discontent was heard; and those who love our country had better try to make him a better one rather than putting their losers' petulance ahead of the nation's best interests.

Thanks again for your column. I love it and welcome it every day.

    Dear Mike,
I'm so glad you write this column. It is on top of events and you certainly have a wonderful way with words. Thank God you are not politically correct. I'm so sick of politically correct liberals and believe as you that the only place for political correctness is in the garbage.
I appreciate your Christian values and applaud your efforts to help Make America Great. Your column is truly a breath of fresh air each day.
Keep up the great work of telling it like it is!

MIke, I have been feeding news to my subscribers every day for over 8 1/2 years. I love adding your comments! I also self produced a 26 page book: I'm Proud to be an American - what I want my grandchildren to know. I would love to send you a copy! As to your pop the balloon story: It's always those who planned for their future instead of spending every dollar they earned who are hit by government taxes. They saved in good faith, not to fund government programs (as they were paying taxing all along to do that) but to not be a burden on society in their old age. Would a Republican Congress actually do this?!! By the way, these 401(k) accounts may not be taxed while they are being earned and set aside, but they are taxed as ordinary income when they are being paid out. When a senior is 70 1/2, they are forced to begin taking money out of these accounts. Then the monies can be taxed again for the interest they earn in a bank, etc.]

Dear Governor Huckabee I totally agree w/you on Hollywood and our IRA accounts. I believe the British TV captures the American audience w/some of its shows on Masterpiece theatre. Downton Abby, Poldark, Home Fires, and Here Come the Midwives, are just a few of the series that come to mind that show reality ( though from a different era) and except for the "gay" characters sprinkled in would be outstanding examples of why Hollywood is failing and they are becoming more popular. Especially Downton showed people w/hearts and integrity, and human missing from our sex saturated, Blockbuster, violent movies of this age.

I think Hollywood should be about the Entertainment and not the politics. But now Hollywood has became both and it is a bad mix. If you are in Hollywood focus on the Entertainment only nothing else because Hollywood is not Washington DC West. Washington DC is in charge of the laws not Hollywood. If Hollywood wants to be about the politics get out of show business all together and change the sign from Hollywood to Lawlesswood.

    Brother Huckabee:
Of all the many emails that I receive, I always take the time to read yours. Your insight, humor and God-given wisdom is refreshing and enlightening. I wonder why the press is not all over Ben Carson's audit results. If there are $521 billion in bookkeeping errors in his department alone, what about all of the other departments? If Donald Trump and Congress want to find the money to build a wall, maybe they should look inside at the fraud, waste and abuse in the "swamp" in Washington DC. Regarding the tax proposals on retirement accounts, I have known for a long time that the trillions of dollars in the retirement system (private) would be a plum that would catch the attention of the money-hungry legislators in DC. Now they are moving to cash in on that attractive bank account.
Keep up the task of giving us valuable information on what is happening in our nation and around the world. Your service in needed.

    Dear Mike Huckabee,

Just want to thank you for voicing your take on all the current issues that come up, regarding our President.

It is such an appalling thing to witness the vicious attacks that the liberals continue to use against Donald Trump. No matter what this President does or says, the attacks are relentless, and the media's blatant disregard for truth is disgusting.

You're truthfulness is so refreshing when you take the liberals to task. I appreciate your candor and willingness to put yourself in a position, that I'm sure receives criticism when you speak out against the unjust attacks the President receives. Thank you Mr. Mike Huckabee.
