Joe diGenova’s comments on Wednesday’s “Ingraham Angle” about the FISA court have created a stir, but still not enough of one. (If you watched the show and thought, “Wow, Laura Ingraham has REALLY changed,” that’s because it was me hosting that night.) DiGenova broke the news that Admiral Mike Rogers uncovered FISA abuse in 2016 and worked with the FISA court for months to determine that illegal spying had taken place and that the court had been lied to by Obama's DOJ/FBI.

Trump has been aware of this; in fact, I get the impression that Trump’s tweet that Trump Tower had been “wiretapped,” greeted by leftists with scorn and ridicule at the time, was sparked by a briefing he got from Rogers. Trump KNEW. The chief FISA judge now confirms that illegal spying happened, that it had been blithely going on during the four years previous to the election, and that AG Sally Yates and her deputy AG knew about it.  This was carried out during Obama’s tenure, and it targeted Republicans.

Here’s a detailed timeline of what happened, along with a telling quote from Rogers.

The FISA court first issued an opinion on this in 2017, but the details of the story have been lost in the shuffle of all the endless accusations and investigations that have gone on since before Trump became President. Now that the special counsel investigation is over and President Trump is able to tap his constitutional authority without being accused of “obstructing the Russia investigation,” it’s time for accountability. And diGenova did say that indictments would be coming out of this.

For background, here’s a detailed story about criminal abuse of the FISA court that came out in 2017, noting that the “MSM keeps quiet.” Indeed. And the silence is deafening even today. But this will not be going away, not now.

Joe Biden finally made it official this morning, releasing a video in which he announced that he is running for President.  He also showed that he will not allow any of those young Democratic whippersnappers to get the jump on him by letting the very first words of his candidacy announcement be an already-debunked whopper of a lie.

Biden claimed he has to run for President because we are in a “battle for the soul of our nation,” citing President Trump’s comment that there were “very fine people on both sides” of race riots in Charlottesville, and “with those words, the President of the United assigned a moral equivalence between those spreading hate and those with the courage to stand against it."

As even anti-Trump outlets like CNN once admitted before they went insane, Trump was extremely clear that he was talking about good people on both sides of the debate about removing Confederate monuments, and he stressed at the time that he condemned the white nationalists unequivocally.

Maybe Joe was just proving that he is ready, willing and able to look Americans straight in the eye and tell them a divisive, corrosive lie about his opponent that anyone who’s been paying the slightest attention should know is a crock of horse manure.  Judging from the field so far, I’d say that’s definitely one of the requirements for the Party’s nomination.

If he wanted to prove that he really cared about protecting the soul of America, it would have been far more impressive to stand up to the nutjobs in his own party, urge them to get over their derangement that’s tearing the nation apart, face the truth, and deal with it honestly like adults.  But I think we know how likely he’d be to win the Democratic primaries if he did that.

As I have tried to impress on my readers, viewers and listeners for a decade now, polls should always be taken with a pillar of salt, and polls taken well over a year before the election are worth less than a lecture on ethics from James Comey.  The latest “shock” news being touted is a Morning Consult poll showing Joe Biden entering the race with an 8-point lead over Trump.

I’ll remind you that in the last election, one poll far closer to Election Day showed Hillary Clinton with an 11-point lead over Trump.  By that standard, Joe is way behind. He’d better hurry out there on the campaign trail and start pressing the flesh.

Wait, maybe I’d better rephrase that…

How come every idea that comes out of the “progressive” movement is just a rehash of something that was already tried and failed in the last century?  Now, yet another chunk of recycled garbage has been plucked from the scrap heap of history, shined up and trotted out as new: “price controls.”

While President Trump has been working hard and had success at lowering drug prices by eliminating bonuses to middlemen and fast-tracking approval of generic drugs, Bernie Sanders has a better idea: price controls!  The government will just put a limit on how much pharmaceutical companies can charge for drugs, based on an average of what they cost in five other nations.

Of course, this doesn’t take into account the fact that America leads the way in innovative drug breakthroughs because our capitalist system allows the companies to charge enough to pay for all the expensive research and development it takes to test many drugs that don’t work out until they find one that does (a process that costs about a billion dollars per drug.)  Take that away, and you not only create shortages and black markets, as price controls always do, but you also choke off the creation of innovative new drugs.  Medical patients pay for that with their lives.

I do have to hand it to the “progressives,” though. For once, they didn’t just reach back to the last century to pluck another failed bad idea (although price controls were certainly tried then, and always failed, as with the 1970s “energy crisis.”)  This time, “progressives” actually came up with an idea that’s proved disastrous again and again down through history for over 4,000 years.  (Note: they are trying to pretty it up in some cases with a new name: “binding arbitration.”  Same poison, different chalice.)

At the link are some examples from a book called “Forty Centuries of Wage and Price Controls,” detailing the consistently catastrophic effects of price control regulations starting with ancient Babylon, moving forward through Egypt and Greece, the Roman Empire, George Washington’s troops nearly starving to death because of food price controls, the French Revolution, World War II and right up to today.

If Bernie supporters give the usual socialist excuse that the right people just haven’t been in charge of implementing price controls yet, you can point out that virtually every people on Earth have been in charge of implementing them at one time or another, and the results have always been the same: 4,000 years of catastrophic failure. Or to put in even more shocking terms, nearly 52 times longer than Bernie Sanders has been alive.

At the link is a terrific video you’ll want to see, and if you have kids who are high school age or, worse, in college, you should sit them down right now and show it to them.  This is Home Depot co-founder Bernie Marcus explaining the difference between capitalism and socialism.

As he accurately notes, socialism “robs people of their independence, their dignity and their finances, leading to government dependence, suppression of ideas and lower standards of living for those under its thumb.” The belief that wealth is finite and production must be controlled by easily-corruptible government authorities always leads to shortages, poverty and oppression.

Meanwhile, America’s free market capitalist system “has been the biggest creator of wealth and prosperity the world has ever known, lifting billions of people out of poverty, and far more superior than any government program could ever be.”  That wealth creation also enables our high levels of giving to charity.  And it’s much fairer than socialism because capitalism is the only system where a simple idea can turn anybody into a financial success.

For example, he notes that in 1979, he’d just been fired and was broke when he co-founded Home Depot and turned “a simple idea and hard work into a company that employs more than 400,000 people and has created thousands of successful millionaires,” which could only happen under America’s capitalist system.

Ironically, Bernie Marcus could have also pointed to America’s most prominent socialist, Bernie Sanders, as an example of the exact same benefits of capitalism that he enjoyed.  After college, Sanders tried his hand at a number of private sector jobs: Head Start teacher, psychiatric aide, carpenter, filmmaker, writer of leftwing articles, seller of “radical film strips” to schools, and more, all with no real success.  But then he got into government and had a simple idea – write a book about how great socialism is and sell it to his poor, deluded supporters.  Today, he’s a millionaire with three expensive houses!

That socialist owes it all to capitalism!

This is not a Huck’s Criminal Mastermind story, although it does involve a crook who is a bird brain.  In this case, it’s a parrot who has more brains that any Huck’s Criminal Mastermind.

    Dear Governor,
I see that The NY Times is printing anti-semitic cartoons. In Rwanda, before the mass killing of Tutsi by the Hutu there was radio calling Tutsi people cockroaches. The Media set the stage for the Rwanda massacre.
Isn’t anti-semitism illegal? If not, why not?
    Thank you

I strongly agree with your point that healthcare coucoverageld become the key discriminating strategy as we grind toward the
    2020 election. I hear Trump's claims that we are going to have a "GREAT" health care plan. My two questions are;
1)WHEN? I hear the whining over McCain's last second treachery, but it's DONE! Get on with it.
    2) WHAT? Saying it's a private insurance based, competition driven, interstate compatible plan aint going to cut it.

Somebody needs to put a PLAN together, which includes eligibility, schedule, COST, Coverage,
(Pre existing condition coverage is not insurance, unless it's underwritten, it's WELFARE) , allowance
for employer paid plans to continue, etc.,etc.
This plan must be available before the primary season gets going, or we will look like jerks.

I read them and I'm surprised that so many people are still after Donald for Russian collusion even though there is no evidence of it. And why aren't they after Hillary Clinton who apparently did collude with Russians?

I just read the most recent comments and was gratified to learn that at least one of your followers recognized that Shep Smith is a never Trumper. He takes every opportunity to get in his snide remarks about the man America elected President. When do these fools move on to the next phase? Does he not understand the reason we hold elections? I haven't thought very highly of Shep since I observed his "bleeding heart" coverage of the Katrina disaster. I had not seen his true colors until then. He gave Bush the same slanted coverage that he is now heaping on Trump. He almost sneers when he discusses Trump on air. I now tune out his program and wish others would do the same.

If I were running against sleepy Joe I would point out the following point which is being ignored by all. Joe was VP and witnessed Obama committing treason against this country on several occasions. One example wras sending Billions of taxpayer dollars to the terrorist nation of Iran. Obamas right hand woman was an Iranian named Valerie Jarett whose counsel to Obama should be obvious. It was to me, and i'm just an outside observer and not nearly as smart as the intelligentsia in charge of running our country. Biden also stood idly by while his admin ignored Benghazi and Hillary's server. How asleep would you have to be to miss all that was going on to undermine this country in his 8 yr term? He is an incompetent, but dangerous individual to let near the levers of govt.

Keep telling those who are lost and out of mind how to make America great. We need less insanity and use our religious intelligence to know right from wrong. Keep feeding the positive news rather than dwelling on the negatives and those "woh, is me" characters who want free handouts from government entities while they refuse to work and support themselves. The incentives and rewards in life take hard work and are heartfelt when you did your personal best to keep America humming. Obama did his best to tear the fabric of America down. Your style of reporting with sensible commentary is appreciated. If Paul Harvey were alive his commentary ended with "Good Day!"

What I would like to see from political personalities is what is happening in DC or the state capital using one or two sentences that tell the story, not incomplete "headlines". Put a link at the end that should point to another page or pop-up that would give the details related to that story. The second part of the email would tell me what that "political personalty" has and/or is doing about that story. The next part should tell me what plans that "political personalty" has to address that story for the future. There should be no more than 4 or 5 stories in any one email. The last part of the email should have a link to a page for donations. If I like what that "political personalty" has done or plans to do then I may decide to contribute, otherwise he/she gets nothing. The whole thing, except links, should not be longer than about one normal typed page. Nothing should be on the page that would be time consuming when downloading through a normal home DSL or home cable modem network connection. If something takes too long to load, I will not wait.

God has a hand in Trump being elected. We nearly lost this country. The founders also gave God credit for the miracle of the United States. The book The Five Thousand Year Leap has letters from Madison et al. confirming that belief. I'm worried about the future of the country because of the lies etc. and the mass propaganda being taught in schools and colleges. Stay at home moms are becoming rare, and children get their information on devices.

PLEASE; Quit giving the Dim Wits advice and pass the word. I semi-understand Fox News chiming in because they are after all in it for the $$$$, however limiting Shep and Juan and Jessica and the other progressives to the 3AM time slot to minimize damage to the Brand. I suggest, from the bottom of my heart, to pass out engraved shovels to the morons at CNN, MSNBC and Legacy and PROGRESSIVES in Congress on both sides( Kerry, McCain Clan, Romney, etc) Gold Painted, with Names "KEEP ON DIGGING"
Lastly the pharmaceutical companies are still looking for CHEMICAL Cures when the science of genetics is going to be the path to finding CURES for mans maladies, Until God finds another incurable malady just to show who's in charge. I am 89 years old retired farmer and believe capitalism is the way to go. I was able to retire because of it. So, keep educating anyone who will listen.
