June is busting out all over, and I’m busting into your living rooms tonight with a brand new episode of “Huckabee” on TBN! Once again, we have more variety than a barrel of Ed Sullivans, starting with David Horowitz. He’s the entire political spectrum rolled into one: the son of communists, raised to be a good Marxist, figured out what Marxism really was, and now he’s one of the leading conservative authors in America. I’ll also talk to the most popular young conservative thinker on the Internet, Ben Shapiro. I have a Huck’s Hero to inspire you, comedy magician Jason Michaels to amaze you, and Felix Cavaliere of the classic ‘60s rock group The Rascals to get you up on your feet and dancing. All that and more, tonight at 8 EST, 7 CST (repeated at 10 EST and the same times on Sunday) on TBN.

As the Peanut Gallery was howling and hooting at President Trump’s woeful incompetence at deal-making, his cancellation of the nuclear summit with North Korea forced Kim Jong-Un to fold like a garage sale card table. The summit is back on, still on June 12th in Singapore – except Kim is in an even weaker position because Trump established dominance by walking away, and Kim had to beg him to come back to the table. He even sent Trump a personal letter, which Trump’s critics mocked as comically large because…well, throw them a bone, they have nothing else.
Wait, I take it back: they can distract us from the historic nature of the summit with a deeply dumb story about Kim’s hotel bill. Kim is demanding that the US cover his $6000-a-night bill at a five-star resort. But that could run afoul of the sanctions on North Korea, or be seen as insulting if it implies that North Korea can’t afford the hotel bill. I don’t see why the truth should be insulting; they’d be lucky to afford Motel 6 without a loan from us.
I checked online and couldn’t find any Trump hotels in Singapore. Too bad, that would be the ideal solution. I love the idea of Kim preparing psychologically for his meeting with Trump by staying in a room with the name “Trump” staring back at him from everywhere he looks, from the Room Service menu to the shampoo bottle.

After sneeringly dismissing the raises and bonuses many workers enjoyed due to the GOP tax cut as “crumbs,” House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi is now desperately trying to put a negative spin on the latest eye-popping economic news.
A quick round-up: an unexpectedly high 223,000 jobs were created in May; unemployment fell to 3.8%, trying a record low set 49 years ago; in just one month, black unemployment plummeted from a previous record low of 6.6% to a new record low of 5.9 percent; and the Atlanta Federal Reserve just estimated that the recent quarterly GDP growth hit an annualized rate of 4.8%. That’s the kind of economic growth number that Barack Obama and his acolytes assured us was no longer possible, and that 1 to 2% growth was now the “new normal.” Turns out it was really just the old pathetic.
So when the economy under the Republicans is roaring like a lion in a Ferrari, how do the Democrats win over voters? They could renounce the kind of high tax, big government policies that kept growth stifled until recently, but they have no other platform. So Nancy Pelosi has taken on the unenviable task of trying to convince us that stupendous GDP growth and record low unemployment are just more meaningless crumbs.
Her spin is that the low unemployment numbers “mean little” to Americans who are struggling with the GOP’s “cruel, cynical health care sabotage campaign” (i.e., trying to root out Obamacare), which is “already spiking families’ premiums by double digits.”
I hate to bring this up – well, actually, I don’t – but under Obamacare, the bill Rep. Pelosi had to pass so she could find out what was in it, premiums were already spiking by double digits, and in some cases, triple digits. Plus Americans won't have to worry so much about premiums now that there are a growing number of good full-time jobs with benefits, which under the Democrats was like trying to find a MAGA cap in Barbra Streisand's closet.
Rep. Pelosi went on, “Democrats know that the American people deserve A Better Deal, with Better Jobs, Better Wages and a Better Future…We are committed to creating millions of new good-paying jobs and raising wages, lowering the soaring cost of living for families and giving every American the tools to succeed in the 21st Century economy.”
Wow, that sounds great! So…how are you gonna do that? By raising taxes on businesses? And if you know how to do it, why didn’t you do it when you had the chance? From 2008 to 2010, Democrats controlled both Congress and the White House. What they gave us was Obamacare, which along with other big government policies, helped depress GDP growth and hiring for years past the official end of the recession. It’s one thing to toss out cotton candy phrases like “Better Jobs, Better Wages.” But how do you plan to do that now when you seemed utterly incapable of it the last time you were in charge?
Personally, I’d say that anyone who can dismiss a two dollar-an-hour raise, a $1000 bonus, 4.8% GDP growth and record low unemployment as “crumbs” really takes the cake.

Of the many groundless slanders that the left aims at…well, everyone not on the left...I let most of it roll off my back. But one line of attack is genuinely offensive, and that’s the accusation that if you don’t endorse draconian gun control laws that disarm the law-abiding and would have had no effect on any actual school shooting incident, it means you don’t care about children. Conservatives care deeply about children (we want to keep them all from being slaughtered, including those in the womb), but wasting time and money on more freedom-destroying laws that would have no impact on shootings is of zero help. There have to be better ways to stop these atrocities that do protect our children but don’t infringe on others' rights.
Well, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott just unveiled a set of proposals for protecting kids without harming Second Amendment protections, and he has some innovative ideas that should be looked at by every state, especially blue states that seem to think more laws on people who don’t shoot up schools will do the trick.
The most interesting of them all is so simple, it’s incredible we aren’t already doing it. Abbott notes that all police officers have to spend a certain number of hours doing paperwork. So why not have the schools set up offices where they can write their reports instead of at the police station? Any would-be school shooters would know that at any time, there would likely be one or more armed police officers in the designated cops’ office who could respond within seconds.
This is not only a brilliant idea for keeping kids safe without having to spend any extra money on hiring guards, it also finally provides us with the first good reason anyone’s ever come up with for requiring so much government paperwork.

The latest extravagant waste of taxpayer money by EPA Chief Scott Pruitt for Trump critics to be OUTRAGED™ over: the Washington Post revealed that Pruitt spent $130 each on 12 custom fountain pens from a jewelry store. The left is howling that you could get Bics for 29 cents each! Or steal pens from the bank, if they weren’t chained down!
Before you join the calls for Pruitt’s scalp, here are three things liberal media outlets are failing to mention: 1. These are ceremonial bill-signing pens that are given to foreign officials as gifts. 2. President Obama not only did the same thing, he used pens that cost $55 more apiece (and used 22 of them to sign Obamacare alone.) 3. Since when have Democrats been so worried about wasting the taxpayers’ money that they demand officials use the cheapest pens possible?
Even if Obama had used a 29-cent Bic, it would still have cost the taxpayers billions every time he signed a bill. Under the Democrats, the only pen in Washington that could've saved the taxpayers some serious money was the veto pen.
