June is busting out all over, and I’m busting into your living rooms tonight with a brand new episode of “Huckabee” on TBN! Once again, we have more variety than a barrel of Ed Sullivans, starting with David Horowitz. He’s the entire political spectrum rolled into one: the son of communists, raised to be a good Marxist, figured out what Marxism really was, and now he’s one of the leading conservative authors in America. I’ll also talk to the most popular young conservative thinker on the Internet, Ben Shapiro. I have a Huck’s Hero to inspire you, comedy magician Jason Michaels to amaze you, and Felix Cavaliere of the classic ‘60s rock group The Rascals to get you up on your feet and dancing. All that and more, tonight at 8 EST, 7 CST (repeated at 10 EST and the same times on Sunday) on TBN.

As the Peanut Gallery was howling and hooting at President Trump’s woeful incompetence at deal-making, his cancellation of the nuclear summit with North Korea forced Kim Jong-Un to fold like a garage sale card table. The summit is back on, still on June 12th in Singapore – except Kim is in an even weaker position because Trump established dominance by walking away, and Kim had to beg him to come back to the table. He even sent Trump a personal letter, which Trump’s critics mocked as comically large because…well, throw them a bone, they have nothing else.

Wait, I take it back: they can distract us from the historic nature of the summit with a deeply dumb story about Kim’s hotel bill. Kim is demanding that the US cover his $6000-a-night bill at a five-star resort. But that could run afoul of the sanctions on North Korea, or be seen as insulting if it implies that North Korea can’t afford the hotel bill. I don’t see why the truth should be insulting; they’d be lucky to afford Motel 6 without a loan from us.

I checked online and couldn’t find any Trump hotels in Singapore. Too bad, that would be the ideal solution. I love the idea of Kim preparing psychologically for his meeting with Trump by staying in a room with the name “Trump” staring back at him from everywhere he looks, from the Room Service menu to the shampoo bottle.

After sneeringly dismissing the raises and bonuses many workers enjoyed due to the GOP tax cut as “crumbs,” House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi is now desperately trying to put a negative spin on the latest eye-popping economic news.

A quick round-up: an unexpectedly high 223,000 jobs were created in May; unemployment fell to 3.8%, trying a record low set 49 years ago; in just one month, black unemployment plummeted from a previous record low of 6.6% to a new record low of 5.9 percent; and the Atlanta Federal Reserve just estimated that the recent quarterly GDP growth hit an annualized rate of 4.8%. That’s the kind of economic growth number that Barack Obama and his acolytes assured us was no longer possible, and that 1 to 2% growth was now the “new normal.” Turns out it was really just the old pathetic.

So when the economy under the Republicans is roaring like a lion in a Ferrari, how do the Democrats win over voters? They could renounce the kind of high tax, big government policies that kept growth stifled until recently, but they have no other platform. So Nancy Pelosi has taken on the unenviable task of trying to convince us that stupendous GDP growth and record low unemployment are just more meaningless crumbs.

Her spin is that the low unemployment numbers “mean little” to Americans who are struggling with the GOP’s “cruel, cynical health care sabotage campaign” (i.e., trying to root out Obamacare), which is “already spiking families’ premiums by double digits.”

I hate to bring this up – well, actually, I don’t – but under Obamacare, the bill Rep. Pelosi had to pass so she could find out what was in it, premiums were already spiking by double digits, and in some cases, triple digits. Plus Americans won't have to worry so much about premiums now that there are a growing number of good full-time jobs with benefits, which under the Democrats was like trying to find a MAGA cap in Barbra Streisand's closet.

Rep. Pelosi went on, “Democrats know that the American people deserve A Better Deal, with Better Jobs, Better Wages and a Better Future…We are committed to creating millions of new good-paying jobs and raising wages, lowering the soaring cost of living for families and giving every American the tools to succeed in the 21st Century economy.”

Wow, that sounds great! So…how are you gonna do that? By raising taxes on businesses? And if you know how to do it, why didn’t you do it when you had the chance? From 2008 to 2010, Democrats controlled both Congress and the White House. What they gave us was Obamacare, which along with other big government policies, helped depress GDP growth and hiring for years past the official end of the recession. It’s one thing to toss out cotton candy phrases like “Better Jobs, Better Wages.” But how do you plan to do that now when you seemed utterly incapable of it the last time you were in charge?

Personally, I’d say that anyone who can dismiss a two dollar-an-hour raise, a $1000 bonus, 4.8% GDP growth and record low unemployment as “crumbs” really takes the cake.

Of the many groundless slanders that the left aims at…well, everyone not on the left...I let most of it roll off my back. But one line of attack is genuinely offensive, and that’s the accusation that if you don’t endorse draconian gun control laws that disarm the law-abiding and would have had no effect on any actual school shooting incident, it means you don’t care about children. Conservatives care deeply about children (we want to keep them all from being slaughtered, including those in the womb), but wasting time and money on more freedom-destroying laws that would have no impact on shootings is of zero help. There have to be better ways to stop these atrocities that do protect our children but don’t infringe on others' rights.

Well, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott just unveiled a set of proposals for protecting kids without harming Second Amendment protections, and he has some innovative ideas that should be looked at by every state, especially blue states that seem to think more laws on people who don’t shoot up schools will do the trick.

The most interesting of them all is so simple, it’s incredible we aren’t already doing it. Abbott notes that all police officers have to spend a certain number of hours doing paperwork. So why not have the schools set up offices where they can write their reports instead of at the police station? Any would-be school shooters would know that at any time, there would likely be one or more armed police officers in the designated cops’ office who could respond within seconds.

This is not only a brilliant idea for keeping kids safe without having to spend any extra money on hiring guards, it also finally provides us with the first good reason anyone’s ever come up with for requiring so much government paperwork.

The latest extravagant waste of taxpayer money by EPA Chief Scott Pruitt for Trump critics to be OUTRAGED™ over: the Washington Post revealed that Pruitt spent $130 each on 12 custom fountain pens from a jewelry store. The left is howling that you could get Bics for 29 cents each! Or steal pens from the bank, if they weren’t chained down!

Before you join the calls for Pruitt’s scalp, here are three things liberal media outlets are failing to mention: 1. These are ceremonial bill-signing pens that are given to foreign officials as gifts. 2. President Obama not only did the same thing, he used pens that cost $55 more apiece (and used 22 of them to sign Obamacare alone.) 3. Since when have Democrats been so worried about wasting the taxpayers’ money that they demand officials use the cheapest pens possible?

Even if Obama had used a 29-cent Bic, it would still have cost the taxpayers billions every time he signed a bill. Under the Democrats, the only pen in Washington that could've saved the taxpayers some serious money was the veto pen.

For people like me that follows the news I cannot find a single reason why the Congress would not stay Red but for the Medias obsession with being proven wrong about the election. My first vote was for a Democrat and I will never know if I made a mistake or not, since JFK was removed from the world by a Socialist, aka Progressive. Joe Biden's comments about the decision to go ahead and take out Bin Laden speaks volumes to me about Politicians in general and Democrats in particular. The Party is God and the Country be damned. The R party is now and has always been at war with itself on at least two fronts and usually more while the Dim party will walk lockstep into Lucifer's den singing onward Christian Soldiers. Not sure how that many people can be so easily manipulated except if the Money Talks, BS walks theory is really true??? It can't be in the water unless they still have segregated drinking fountains in the hallowed halls of Congress so it has to be a mental deficiency of some sort. Getting the message past the media is going to be a tough row to hoe since all the sane part of America has is one cable outlet and social media and now Google & Facebook and Twitter seem to be getting on the censorship bandwagon along with the alphabet networks and CNN.

I look forward to reading your newsletter every is so refreshing to be able to read about pertinent issues from a conservative perspective of truth, sensibility, and with a little humor included. I can picture Kim Jong Un sitting in that Trump hotel room as you described and it just makes me can have humor without using foul language to belittle, and without being beligerate or deliberately hurtful to express an opinion or point of view. The Gipper himself would be proud of your work I'm sure. Keep it coming and thank you.

I just received a notice in English from Medicare. It was two lines long. It was accompanied by the same notice translated into fourteen other languages that occupied a page and a half!! President Trump should make English the national language. This would give non-English speakers a big incentive to learn English and to assimilate. It would also save taxpayers a ton of money by eliminating the need for these farcical, long-winded notices and all their translators.

Hello Mr. Huckabee; I appreciate your frank and honest comments. I really liked the statement about the Texas Governor suggesting room for the law enforcement officers using a room on campus to do their bundles of paper work. Not only would it provide our schools with more security but would be a big money saver especially in Walton county as we have offices every where for this purpose. They could be closed and sold or given to some needy family.
Keep up the great work you do and may God Bless and keep you .

I tried to read the full story of the comparison between Pruit and Obama on the cost of the pens to sign documents, but a Twitchy vote popup obscured the story and would not go away. I intended to forward it to both FB and Twitter. Can't you control these popups?

I first want to say I admire you and your daughter. Nancy Pelosi is great at shooting her mouth off and helping us with her idiotic comments. We should stress the fact that the dems could have passed immigration laws for the dreamers when they controlled the Senate and house. Taxes will be raised if they get back in power and our government will be corrupt again. The swamp has to be cleaned thoroughly. What happened with Goudy. Did he have a senior moment? I am almost 90 and so disgusted with what our government has become. Sessions is a traitor. Thank God for you and your daughter. I am a staunch Republican. Have been all my life. Had two cousins in Congress. As a kid I use to hang up posters for Cousin Seymour Halpern. My Uncle Great Uncle Ralph started it all.

pelosi's slogan has a bit of a problem....That is part of the MAGA--and it's already working!!! I had read a comment that the boom in economy should be credited to obama--I guess it just took 9 years for all his work to start showing results. Funny, obama blamed everything negative on GWB even up til the end, but claimed credit for anything positive. Now, we are supposed to believe anything negative is Trump's fault, and anything positive even today should be credited to obama.

Perhaps, even after all this time, pelosi hasn't read much, if any of the obamacare provisions--otherwise she would know that premiums were skyrocketing because of obamacare.

PS to the prior comment i left about gun control: let's NOT state on TV the other ways people who want to kill could use if guns were outlawed. we do NOT want to give anyone ideas!! also, if you ever run again, you have my vote!!

  • Patti Hummel

the best answer to gun control advocates i can think of is: there have ALWAYS been guns in this country. logically, this new phenomenon of children shooters is deeply based on something newer. has anyone thought of checking what are NOW longer term effects of medications recent generations of children have been put on without knowing the long term effects (they would not have been available until now)? i know a lot of kids diagnosed with attention deficit disorder are automatically put on meds anymore. worth a closer look, in my opinion. praying for God to reveal the REAL reason soon so it can stop. but it sure is NOT because we have guns. anyone wants to kill, they will find another way: knives, bombs, poison... things we can't even think of.

Governor Huckabee, I am a faithful supporter of you. I wish you were my president, but thats not why I am commenting. I would like to know where you stand on the "ELD MANDATE" issue. I am an independent trucker. I find my loads, pay myself, pay the taxes I owe and dont ask the government for anything except to protect me and stay far away from my life. This unconstitutional mandate is killing the small trucker. But thats what the ATA and the Arkansas Trucking Association wants. They payrolled the lobby for this mandate. I dont recall Walmart needing special legislation to put small stores out of business, they did it with a great business model. Our Congress, who is supposed to act in the best interest of it's people has once again givin in to the promise of re-election campain money promises from lobby groups. I have sent letters to President Trump, Secretary Chao, my Congressman and Senators from our state (WV) 4 Fox News people, director of FMCSA and others offering advice on this issue. No reply from anybody. I put my 1st truck to work in 1973, no accidents since and no logbook violations. But they lump me in with new driver trainee's that cant even find their way out of a paper bag. I'm asking for help from anybody that will listen. You may be pro-eld, I don't know. But I can point out where you have been misguided by the so call "experts" that shine leather seats in their chairs all day. Hope this catches your attention. Hope to see you at TODD STARNES FALL GETAWAY. He said he invited you. Thank you sir for listening. WES

Re: Democrats' Midterm Message? MS-13 killers aren’t so bad! ...Crazy, right?!!! We do NOT need these evil MS-13 people in our country. Yes, they are animals. What if that was your daughter or loved one they tortured, raped, dismembered and sacrificed to Satan??? Think about it! These killers are evil and cannot be tolerated. Law and order is a must in this country for our safety and protection. These criminals including the illegal cartels, and illegal immigrants need to be banned from our society or they will bring nothing but violence, hate & anarchy. It's time for the U. S. citizens & patriots to speak up and support our President, and to abide and enforce the laws as written. Thank You Mike and Sarah for your informative and interesting commentaries. I admire you both for your fine character, ethics, values and morals. Keep up the good work! We need you and appreciate your dedication and effort in giving us sound direction. Nutty Pelosi is a perfect example of Isaiah 5:20, which says "woe to those who call evil good and good evil". Under Obama the credit rating for the entire country was degraded and she thought that was a good thing, yet prosperity under President Trump is a bad thing. "Better Jobs, Better Wages" .. someone should tell her Papa Johns called and they want their slogan back!! The only "jobs" Democrats know how to create are government jobs, which destroys the economy because the people working real jobs have to work harder to pay salaries of the government employees, who sadly never seem to be qualified to fetch coffee let alone work for the government, anyone who ever went to the DMV would agree with that opinion.
