Joe Biden tried to bail out his listing presidential ship by giving an interview to CNN. But even in that friendly forum, it did not go well. Biden is reeling from getting punched by the left for not being left enough and abandoned by the establishment for veering too far left to keep up with his crazy competitors.
In the CNN interview, he tried to distance himself from the Bernie-style “Medicare For All” scheme by offering a more sensible, workable, popular plan: bringing back Obamacare. I kid you not. And not just Obamacare, but also the much-hated individual mandate, which forced Americans either to buy insurance they didn’t want or couldn’t afford or to pay a tax penalty, leaving them even less money in their pockets to pay for their health care out of pocket. I’m sure this will be a winning issue for the Democrats. Like bringing back typhus.
Biden also made the ever-popular Democratic promise to raise taxes (but only on other people, of course, not you.) He claims that rescinding the Trump tax cut and jacking up corporate taxes wouldn’t derail the economic boom. Why, he scoffed at the very idea that people working in restaurants got any benefit from those tax cuts!
How about the benefit they got from someone being able to open a restaurant, make a profit and hire them? In cities like Seattle, which “helped” low wage workers the leftist way by taxing businesses and raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour, restaurants are closing left and right (mostly left, of course.)
By coincidence, the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office just issued a report estimating that the Democrats’ plan for a national $15-an-hour minimum wage would destroy 1.3 million low wage jobs resulting in a net total loss of $9 billion in income to low-wage families. Thanks, Democrats!
If you’re looking for a very short edited version of Biden’s CNN interview that provides cheap laughs but nevertheless gives you a pretty good idea of how it went, try this:

You’ll hear, “Oh, man! Come on, man!” about a dozen times, and it finishes with Joe asking if anyone believes that Russian meddling in elections would have happened on his and Barack’s watch. Yes, Joe. I believe a fairly large number of us believe that…
