Perhaps the worst revelation to emerge during the investigation of an obvious attempt to bring down a duly elected President is that Lady Justice is not blindfolded –- that there is one form of “justice” for the politically well-connected and another for those whose persecution can HELP the politically well-connected.

It should also be mentioned that more often than not lately, Lady Justice has been wearing an “I’m With Her” button.

We’re getting an infuriating look behind the curtain now at how the “deep state” bureaucracy worked to keep Hillary Clinton in the game at all costs, under the assumption that if she could just be kept on legal life support until the election, she would be the next President of the United States, and all their abuses of power would be buried forever.  And it’s still working to help those well-connected people.

Consider the two very different stories of a couple of former business partners:  one-time Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort and his partner Tony Podesta, who happens to be the brother of former Hillary campaign chairman John Podesta.  (I know, it seems odd that these two would have been in business together, but that’s Washington DC.)

Paul Manafort has been pursued relentlessly by special counsel Robert Mueller, for allegations of financial misconduct that go back a decade and are totally unrelated to any work he did for Donald Trump.  He’s got cases against him filed in two different courts, one in DC and one in the Eastern District of Virginia, and the Virginia judge has not made a secret of his opinion that Mueller’s prosecution is designed to get his target to “sing,” or, if necessary, “compose.”  Because of allegations that Manafort tried to contact potential witnesses, he’s now denied bail and languishing in SOLITARY CONFINEMENT until he is tried.  Talk about a way to get someone to sing!

Tony Podesta, in contrast, is one of five witnesses being offered immunity by the Mueller team in exchange for his testimony.  The brother of John Podesta –- who is perhaps best known for being the “weak spot” in Hillary’s email chain because his password was “password” –- worked with Manafort in a PR campaign for the nonprofit organization European Centre for a Modern Ukraine, which may have been funded by a pro-Russian Ukrainian political group that was funded by Russian oligarchs.  (“Oligarch” is just a shady-sounding word for “billionaire.”)  The now-defunct Podesta Group got in trouble because it may have violated the sporadically-enforced Foreign Agents Registration Act, or FARA, which states that Americans who lobby for foreign governments, leaders or political parties must disclose their activities with the Justice Department.  Oops, they didn’t.

Commentary continues below advertisement

As Tucker Carlson said on his show Thursday night, both Manafort and Podesta would have been facing essentially the same charges, but they’re being treated very differently.  “In other words, for a near-identical crime, Bill and Hillary’s friend could escape and emerge completely unscathed while Paul Manafort may rot in jail,” Carlson said.  “Only one of them made the mistake of chairing Donald Trump’s presidential campaign.”

It’s reportedly the Virginia case in which Podesta was given the immunity deal to testify against Manafort.  I’d love to know what the judge is thinking about that!

let's simplify by remembering to pray that Justice will be done but also let's remember God can take the bad and turn it into good and I'm positive he is working to do that. These people think they've escaped Justice, but their ignorance will In trap them. Let's pray for wisdom for all the judges that are involved! Thank you mr. Huckabee for this newsletter as I enjoy your humor juxtaposed with the daily news feed! Keep up the good work God bless you always!! Connie Miller

What is the statute of limitations for 'financial misconduct' ? Since Manafort did these 'crimes' 12 years ago isn't it a little late to be charging him now? Is the Mueller group bribing Podesta to testify against Manafort ? Why would the government and court systems allow bribery for a testimony? I am at a loss for what is going on with this dog and pony show !

The only hope for changing all this chicanery is for someone to clean out the DOJ and put people in there who aren't bought and paid for by the Deep State (Rosenstein for a start) or lack the ability to stand up and use their power to bring all this to a close (Sessions). I'm so tired of hearing about the hypocrisy in our federal judicial system while nothing is being done about it by anyone who has the power to do so.

With all the "drama & circus" putting attention on DC Jerry Springer show, illegals walking into US at border and getting to stay, and NFL cry babies -- what is our government doing that's going to bite us US born people trying to get by? I look all around and see a sudden majority of Asians buying property and getting jobs. What about men 50+ being rif' d and unable to get new job, who have families and mortgages? I'm 55 female with only remaining paycheck, covering 4 on medical insurance, and 2 in college. And Now days they have to have master's and residencies before they can be independently employed. Where are the jobs?

Some solutions - (1) If Manafort is convicted and sentenced, commute his sentence and grant him a full pardon. This would crush Herr Mueller; (2) Then Manafort should sue Herr Mueller AND his band of leftist attorneys; (3) Commute his sentence and pardon Rod Blagojevich contingent upon him agreeing in writing to register as a Republican to embarrass Obama and his cronies in IL.

When I hear about these injustices in both the political arena and just in the private sector arena I always wonder what we can do about it at our level (just working class Americans that seem to go unnoticed). I would want my fellow citizens to rise up and help if that were being done to me or my family members. What can we do that would let these people know we are not going to sit by while they do this to our fellow citizen? I voted for Trump (proudly, happily, and thankfully). I still thank the Lord for him. But while he is trying his best to repair things for us, what can we do aside from casting our votes at election time, in order to help Manafort and others like him who are used as pawns in this way.

It’s time to expose the shadow government. You should bring Kevin Shipp on your program and point people to his videos. Of course, you better make certain you have body guards

Why aren't we hearing about the connection with Peter Strzok's wife. She is also a part of the dark, dismal, dank swamp!!! She has been blocking investigations into the money laundering by the Clintons. Look into that connection, please.

The truth be known, it is not justice for all. Justice is truly portrayed as blind but not for equal justice any more. She is suppose to be blind to prejudices, color, race, age, vocation, position, political, or anything else. Just the facts. I am afraid that she is blind to the truth and blind to equality under the law for all. The corruption has gone so far and so deep that it is like a cancer that just keeps eating away.

I am sharing this with all my Senior friends. This is unreal. The American people need to know this. If Manafort is proven guilty ; I think a presidential pardon is in order. The only way that can happen is this summary you just shared must be presented to the American people and have us demand a pardon. I am going to have some of my friends sign up for your newsletter.

Thanks for being honest and open and for living your Christian values and still maintaining a sense of humor.

I am so frustrated that Muller is way off base going after Manafort and Cohen trying to get to Trump. The waste of taxpayer money for the skum Muller to keep on protecting Hillary and the rest of the Deep State. Muller has a bad history of the bag of dirty tricks he goes after the innocent to protect his scallywag friends. It is high time they all go to jail.

Governor....yes, it's pathetic what is transpiring in today's America concerning the law, justice and cover-ups. Just imagine how it is for us little known taxpayers...what we have to deal with daily.
The Left/Deep State/RINO/FBI leadership/Obama's/Clinton's......they don't have to answer to anyone. They can go from petty theft (in government petty theft is your basic $1million)...of course you knew that all the way to murder (read the Clinton file on dead bodies) and real Treason.
England has already turned into what they're trying to turn America into: The Elite Left vs. American Citizen. The left is winning because no one calls them on their fallacies.
They Call Trump treasonous for talking to Putin...yet the Clinton's can make millions off selling Russia our mineral rights. They talk about Russia collusion in our voting and elections....yet, they allow an invasion of illegal aliens and then give them voting rights. They release hardened criminals by the thousands (both foreign and domestic ones) out of our prisons only to recommit crimes. They talk Social Justice for felons, but they silence the victims. Now there's an ex-president (Obama) going to South Africa and backing genocide and land theft against white people.
Lord...I'm no politician but if I were these things I just mentioned would be part of my speeches and talking more. As long as John McCain (tired of his POW spiel...I'm a Vietnam vet too) is a Republican...I won't be.....I'm just anti-leftist. Thanks for listening.

How do we get the former Lady Justice to recover her virtue? Right now she is a prostitute for the Democrat party. We need your powerful voice to shout loader and more forcefully, PLEASE. This is the MOST serious thing to happen to this country because it is now under the Trump Administration. Pres. Trump CANNOT allow this or he will FOREVER be tainted with the same brush as Hillary and her minions.

I am flabbergasted that this kind of corruption exists in the FBI. Should we be protesting in front of the FBI office or Congress or both? Something has to be done before all the CRIMINAL DEMOCRATS get a get out of jail card free. Rosenstein, Mueller and the lot of them need to be fired and have their security clearances revoked.
I think WE want Mueller to provide what evidence of collusion he has or END THIS INVESTIGATION. I am appalled at the amount of TAXPAYERS DOLLARS that have been waisted on this investigation.
There has been lots of evidence against DEMOCRATS uncovered which investigators seem to be ignoring. WHY?! They need to be held accountable. NOT GIVEN FREE PASSES.

The operative words in your news letter is "IMMUNITY TO COMPOSE". It is the favorite tool of the dirty DOJ Lawyer's and dirty Mueller's , is to indict a person, immediately give that person immunity, to get that immunity person to testify scripted false testimony against another indicted person. On most occasions, those immunity persons would give false testimony against their mother to avoid spending years in prison and being financially ruined at the same time. The real question here, is why hasn't congress impeached or fired Mueller, Roberstein, and every other FBI and DOJ individuals that have violated every law on the books including treason.

A second special counsel must be appointed NOW to investigate the several (many) corrupt actions taken by US intelligence and the US justice system, including this most recent wrongdoing involving Manafort and Podesta. Where is Sessions, the spineless, worthless AG nominated by President Trump? Tell Sessions to appoint a much needed second special counsel. I voted Trump for president and for the people Trump would put into office who are like minded. I did not get that with Sessions and did not get it with "attorney general" Rosenstein. Not only disappointing, but a disaster for republicans.

It is sad to see that justice in the US not be equally applied. It is equally sad to learn of the recent revelations of the moral bankruptness of our President regarding his infidelities. Prayers are being said for the people of this country to realize what is truth versus fiction.

Why does this continue? I see a lot of talk, but no actual prosecution of the deep state! Are the people of this country expected to swallow this? President Trump is persecuted daily... Democrats get away with unacceptable behavior, right down to calling for Anything from physically harming to killing our President and anyone associated with him!!! Isn’t this against the law???

I just dont understand how injustices like these can happen and they can get away with it. It goes against everything we believe in in our great country. How can Trump allow Manafort to rot in solitary confinement? Cant something be done to right this injustice. It is unbelievable.

Dear Governor, this is so very horrible. I have read about the criminal behavior of Tony Podesta and I cant believe that he would be offered immunity. This in itself should be grounds to end the Mueller Investigation immediately. It truly is like the 1690's in Salem, Mass. This is just a Coup with Mob enforcement via the left with their violence, destruction of any conservatives or moderates, who are Trump supporters. Janice Harte
