BIBLE VERSE OF THE DAY

Woke Capitalism

By Mike Huckabee

Recently, there was a Zoom meeting of 90 top corporate CEOs and other executives to discuss withholding political donations and other measures their companies would take to fight “this spreading of the disease of voter restrictions.” Since this is a Washington Post story quoting a Yale professor who organized the meeting, let me translate that into honest English: they want to fight any attempts to ensure that elections are trustworthy and that only people who are legally allowed to vote do so.

At that link is a list of some of the big name corporations involved in this, some of whose leaders made it clear that they’re not afraid of any reprisals. The CEO of Delta Airlines, Ed Bastian, has been particularly contemptuous of the idea that people might have a choice of airlines (United and Americans’ CEOs were also in on the Zoom meeting), and has echoed misinformation about Georgia’s new election laws, which has caused the hashtag #BoycottDelta to trend on social media, and to prompt accusations of hypocrisy, considering how impossible it is to get on a Delta flight without showing a legal photo ID.

And as Victor David Hanson points out, a man who makes $17.3 million a year (about $65,000 a day) doesn’t have any room to be lecturing the rest of us about “equity.”

In fact, with certain industries still struggling to recover from the pandemic, one wonders why any airline, or certainly the CEO of AMC Theaters, would risk ticking off 70% of Americans who support voter ID laws in order to placate a loud 30% of leftists who are lying about them? An activist group called Civic Alliance is at the forefront of pushing these “woke” companies to join in attacking states that try to secure their elections. They’ve helpfully listed them all here:

Warning, there are over 1100 of them, but it’s really not that hard to deal with. Since they’re alphabetical, just think of a company you might want to patronize and scroll down to find it. For instance, McDonald’s is on the list. Next, scroll up to the B’s and down to the W’s. Burger King and Wendy’s are not on the list. Now, where will you have lunch?

Or, Hilton is on the list, while Hyatt (which refused to knuckle under and cancel the CPAC conference because, as they wisely put it, they respect the right of people to peacefully express their views independent of whether they agree with Hyatt’s) is not. Which hotel chain do you prefer to stay in now?

There’s also a more succinct list of the 100 biggest companies that are putting kowtowing to opponents of election integrity laws above maximizing profits and serving their customers. It’s at PJ Media, but it’s only available to subscribers.

But that brings up another important point: these companies aren’t afraid of offending conservatives because they assume we’ll keep giving them our money anyway, so matter how many times they spit in our faces or how much they fund people who want to destroy us and our values and undermine election integrity. So how would they react if the vast silent majority suddenly started speaking with their dollars? One way we could do that is by supporting people who support us.

For instance, instead of giving your money to the Washington Post or the New York Times, a subscription to PJ Media’s site also gets you Townhall.com, Redstate.com, Twitchy.com and more. And if you had a subscription to PJ Media, you could read that entire article by Paula Bolyard that contains these two paragraphs that just might make you pull out your credit card and subscribe:

“Essentially, what they’re doing is calling everyone who believes that we should have secure elections racists, while suggesting that black and brown people are too dumb to vote unless they’re led by the hand to the voting booth. These CEOs (and presumably the boards they answer to) have calculated the risk of angering half of America and decided it is in their best interest to support policies that lead to election fraud and chaos in our electoral system. That, or they’re swimming in so much cash that they don’t care if their companies lose money—the financial bottom line is secondary to getting invited to all the right cocktail parties and adding humanitarian awards to their trophy collections…

While woke capitalism seems like a runaway train, we are not powerless. We can vote with our feet and our pocketbooks by not patronizing these companies that are trying to destroy America. While some of them seem impenetrable (Facebook), other companies may respond to having their bottom lines threatened. Corporate boards tend to pay attention when companies bleed customers and revenue. Unlike our corporate overlords, most of us have a finite pot of money to spend every month. We should think long and hard about where we’re spending our hard-earned dollars.”

In a related story, here’s a link to a podcast and transcript on how to fight “woke” corporations seeking to impose their political views on states. It’s an interview with one of the founders of a group I already told you about, www.StopCorporateTyranny.org.

Yet another reason, not to listen to Woke CEOs

By Mike Huckabee

As long as we’re discussing today the hypocrisy of big, “woke” organizations, here’s a story about a new report from the Australian Strategic Policy Institute.

It reveals how over the past year, the communist government of China, aided by executives of the World Health Organization and the UN, have ramped up efforts to spread pro-Beijing propaganda on big social media sites, including YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and the Chinese-owned Tik-Tok. The intent is to smear Uyghur victims of the CCP as well as journalists and researchers who report on it and the outlets that employ them.

Yet another reason why I don’t feel like listening to any lectures from companies that cuddle up with the Chinese government about how Georgia doesn’t live up to their lofty moral standards.

J&J Vaccine on pause

By Mike Huckabee

The FDA and CDC have called for a pause in the rollout of the Johnson & Johnson COVID vaccine after six women developed a rare, severe type of blood clot after taking it.

It is extremely rare, since there have been only six cases out of over 6.8 million Americans who’ve received it. But the article at the link includes some possible symptoms to watch out for and what to do if you’ve already had the vaccine.

On that subject, I read someone recently describe Dr. Anthony Fauci as America’s leading anti-vaxxer, because his insistence that we have to keep following strict lockdown procedures even after being vaccinated is making so many people think, “Well, then what’s the point of getting vaccinated?” Here’s the latest example of that.

Angry, Lying Democrats

By Mike Huckabee

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer claims a “layer of misogyny” is partially to blame for criticism of her handling of the pandemic.

In a related story, I hear Gov. Andrew Cuomo may announce that he now identifies as a woman.

“Squad” member Rep. Rashida Tlaib called for an end to all policing, calling it “government-funded murder.” I assume she makes an exception for police who arrest people who cause violence at the Capitol that might endanger herself, even if one of them commits homicide against an unarmed protester.

A Reader Writes Back...

I agree that voters would be outraged about what the Left is doing but only if they KNOW what the Left is doing. The reason why Trump lost the last election is because so many people simply absorbed the curated media/celebrity propaganda. I currently see no reason why that would change in 2022. Most people, especially young people, just aren't paying enough attention. Your newsletter is great for those who bother to read it, but can't break through the information curtain of Big Tech and MSM.

I am driven to comment on the hue and cry for the need for more police training as it relates to resisting arrest incidents. There are two sides to this problem and all the noise is about fixing the law enforcement side. Would it not be wise to focus a little attention on the main reason these encounters end badly? What if schools, media, parents and churches try to place focus on teaching people to respect the position of authority granted to police. Instead of choosing the proven dangerous reaction to resist police, say yes sir or aye, aye sir as we said in the Navy. It means I understand and will obey. Have police shot anyone who has chosen to comply with a policeman's instructions? The excuse that minorities act that way out of fear doesn't produce good results, but continues to be used. Police also have fear which is exacerbated when the person they are dealing with chooses obstinacy rather than compliance.

It's time to push back hard on the PC bullies and speech police. When the media told the MN police chief not to go there when he used the term riot, His response should have been "check the dictionary you moron". In addition, he should have told them in no uncertain terms that they have not been given the right to control his speech. "Go to Hell" might be another clear response. These people are power happy bullies who lack parenting.

If ever there was a case of Anti-Trust with these companies, it is now. It may not be anti-trust in the business sense, it is truly in the honesty and integrity sense. Would still like to see a link to just a list of those companies colluding with the Democrats to screw our future elections.

My perception of pelosi is she is an evil person as a polictian she is very good, pelosi will step away from tliab's remarks about ridding society of law enforcement only one reason pelosi knows over half of the population knows that it is a disastrous idea so to reduce tliab's voice. pelosi will renounce her idea for now but pelosi still wants law enforcement removed. The names of the two are not worthy of having their names with a capital letter or even their names spelled correctly. Yes they are of low character.

The beauty of living in a one party State Democratic is we get bond fires of epic size cities let people set buildings on fire and shoot fireworks at people and buildings and for fun party goers throw bricks frozen water bottles at people then do a fire drill running into buildings stealing everything they can get their hands on, the fun doesn't there people dress up as police and they shoot canister with smoke and gas at the party goers after all the fun is over at 10pm the chaperons tell the party goers to go home and leave the trashed surroundings behind, for years the buildings stand without repair Thanks for the good times Governor Walz you know how to party. PS Gov I will settle for a small fire in my control fire pit without all your party props.

I agree with your reader's comment: not enough Americans do not pay attention to what's goin on in our governements (National, ate & local) and schools. Perfect example: man-on-the-street interviews by some well-known TV show hosts show just how ignorant many people are about our history, as well as our current government and events. Some don't bother to vote (PTL) and others vote informed only by the liberal MSM. Educating the masses is the most important goal for conservatives.

write why I am not funding them any longer. I am a firm believer in boycotts. They do work.

Could not the voter ID law in Georgia, (or anywhere) be seen as an anti-Jim-crow law? With a valid ID any person would/should be allowed into the polling location, without that proof a person could be prevented from entering the polling place. I imagine this has occurred in the long past and the not to distant past, also. (Philadelphia, with the Black Panthers in 2008) With proper ID a voter would have grounds for legal action against anybody who blocked their way.
FYI: I still think HR1 is a veiled attempt to suppress Woman voting.

Since I changed to BRAVE I cant share your newsletter. I can share many of the articles you link but I love your take on things and your witty way of saying things. Please get your tech crew to set up the share symbols. I dont use google anymore and really want to share your newsletter. This is the 3rd or 4th time I've asked this. Is there a problem with doing this? Thanks

WRT woke CEO's, I think they are afraid of becoming targets of a minority mob that trashes their business of they do not act proactively. There are probably more than a million folks living in the greater Portland, Oregon area yet a relative handful cause havoc for the vast majority. In short I believe the woke CEO's are afraid of being shaken down by the relative handful. Myself, I would rather they just stay away until drug in and then use the law to wreak havoc on the perpetrators. The problem with that approach is the law is only enforced one way and the CEO's know that just like everyone else in our society. Bottom line, this time of woke corporations may be a by product of our not so justice system.

Hey Mike!!! The list of woke companies not to shop with is daunting. Are you able to put together a list, or find one, of freedom believing companies to continue spending our hard earned dollars with? I'm thinking Chick-fil-A would be on it :)

So 100 woke corporations trying to tell us that they are courageously battling voter restrictions .
    That's a laugh .
We all know did they are simply scared to death of the Blue Reich who what continuing voter fraud. They know that if they don't play ball what the so called Democrats can and will do to their companies and their last lifestyle. After all , they have done it in the past bringing false charges ruining companies and sending their bosses to jail.
Further in telling Americans our elected officials cannot fight to ensure voter integrity then what happened to democracy ?
We the People can see right through and they're fooling no-one. Fight on Americans voter an election integrity .
