By Mike Huckabee

Yesterday, President Trump signed an executive order on police reform, saying that there are a “tiny” group of bad cops and nobody wants to get rid of them more than the overwhelming majority of good cops. Sen. Tim Scott has been working on a GOP police reform bill as well. The Republican measures include new federal guidelines for training and professional standards (such as banning chokeholds unless the officer’s life is in danger), providing police with non-lethal weapons, having non-police professionals involved in dealing with cases such as homeless people and addicts, and perhaps most importantly, allowing the sharing of information, perhaps in a national database, among police departments, so that cops with a history of complaints can’t simply move to a new location.

Police unions usually oppose reform plans, but they seem to like Trump’s. The unions adamantly oppose Democrat demands to end “qualified immunity,” which protects officers from being held legally accountable for damages unless they violated a clearly established right.

The mother of Ahmaud Arbery, a black man shot to death while jogging in Georgia, also praised Trump’s order as a good start.

As usual, Democrats blasted Republican plans for not going far enough. Every crisis always seems to result in a Democratic plan written in two days that goes too far and mostly does things they wanted to do anyway, from dealing with climate change with a $92 trillion “Green New Deal” to fighting the coronavirus by spending $3 trillion on Democratic dream projects like voting by mail. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said the House plan will not pass the Senate because it’s typical Democratic overreach, trying to run local police departments from Washington. He urged Democrats to work with Senate Republicans and get serious about passing a law, not just playing politics.

But the Democrats are already playing politics by denying even the existence of reforms that President Trump has already achieved to help African-Americans, and by blasting Republicans for not going far enough. When you hear that, remember this: they talked for years about prison sentencing reform and never did it. Trump signed it. They talked for decades about creating jobs for black workers. Trump did it. They talk about the failures of schools in black neighborhoods but protect those schools from serious reform while blocking black parents from taking their kids elsewhere. The cities with the worst records of police corruption and violence against blacks have been under solid Democratic control for decades. And they held both Congress and the White House for two full years under Obama and never did a single thing on police reform or any of the other current issues they claim are long-standing crises. They even said they were crises back then, and still did nothing. As Sen. Lindsey Graham said at the press conference, this has been around since long before Trump and Democrats did nothing about it, so spare us all the blaming of Trump for it.

On the other hand, if Democrats can’t blame Trump for everything that’s wrong in life, what would they do with all that free time every day?

Whenever some big tech platform bans someone for violating its terms of service, they always claim they’re non-partisan. But they always seem to deplatform conservatives for the slightest, even imaginary, violations, while allowing the most violent and offensive speech from the left. But this week, Google may have finally whacked the beehive too hard and brought so much negative attention that the law could end up being changed. Some Silicon Valley socialist billionaires might wish they’d been more even-handed.

It all started when NBC News, citing a dodgy and biased British self-proclaimed “watchdog” (you can see how dodgy and biased here)…

...accused the conservative websites The Federalist and ZeroHedge of “pushing unsubstantiated claims” about the Black Lives Matter movement, and Google reportedly banned them from taking part in the Google Ads program that generates their revenue. NBC didn’t bother to identify what this alleged “content that promotes hatred, intolerance, violence or discrimination based on race” was.

After the story caused a major uproar, Google claimed that The Federalist had never been demonetized, and that the offensive content was in the unmonitored “comments” section. But the backpedaling might not be enough this time: NBC and Google are being accused of colluding to silence smaller, non-leftist voices, and there are calls to break Google up as a monopoly. Sen. Ted Cruz called Google’s actions an attack on free speech and sent them some questions that might be the first step to new legislation to reign in the power of big tech platforms.

One of these issues might involve changes to “Section 230,” the part of federal law that allows social media platforms to avoid lawsuits by being classified as neutral “platforms” that aren’t responsible for what commenters say, rather than “publishers” who control what gets seen. Cruz pointed out that Google tried to hold the Federalist and ZeroHedge responsible for what their commenters say, while Google enjoys Section 230 protection, even though it owns YouTube, where thousands of “profane, racist, and indefensible comments” are posted daily.

Full disclosure: over the past couple of weeks, we’ve had a couple of pages at barred by Google, and they were completely inoffensive. They weren’t even commentaries; they were just posts of video of news makers from Fox News interviews. When challenged, Google removed the bans. But I can’t help wondering if this is a new move to try to hold conservative sites responsible for comments when the big tech sites are not.

In the meantime, please be careful when writing your comments. We wouldn’t want to violate Google’s double standards.

In the rush to do away with police, the Denver School Board voted unanimously to remove police from schools, where they have been monitoring students and campuses for 22 years.

Critics of the police in schools claim that they disproportionately arrest and ticket black and Latino students and that being in contact with armed police “messes with your psyche” and the monitors should have more of a mentoring relationship with students. But a police spokesman said the critics don’t understand the nuances of the job: they don’t set out every day to arrest and ticket students, but the public doesn’t realize how many knives, guns and drugs they’ve confiscated from students.

Good luck to the caring, unarmed mentors in getting a gun away from a teenage drug dealer. Incidentally, I thought that one of the main reasons for having cops in schools was to prevent school shootings. So we now know that students can bring in guns and there will be no cops around to take them away. How quickly they forgot what that can lead to. And in Colorado! Apparently, school children’s lives don’t matter.

Speaking of guns, liberals have actually found yet another way to be hypocrites. For years, we’ve heard that we desperately need “common sense” gun control laws, such as bans on “assault weapons” and carrying weapons in public places, extensive background checks, safety training and waiting periods whenever a gun changes hands.

But at the occupied lunatic zone in Seattle, the self-proclaimed “warlord” Raz not only carries around a semi-automatic rifle in a crowded area, he was also captured on video handing them out like Halloween candy from the trunk of a Tesla to people of unknown age and background – and who obviously barely knew which end of a gun the bullet comes out of.

So to recap: the coronavirus is deadly and can’t be allowed to spread by letting people go to work or attend churches or synagogues or a Trump rally – but if you go to a BLM protest, no problem…

...In fact, it’s not even necessary to track your contacts, as long as you made them at a BLM/anti-police rally…

...Also, only the police should be allowed to have guns – but the police should be fired because they’re all violent racist monsters. And well-trained, law-abiding citizens who carry guns are terrorists, but terrorists who carry guns in violation of every law, both formal and common sense, are “keeping the peace” in a festival atmosphere.

Blame America First: Virginia Democratic Senator and Hillary Clinton 2016 running mate Tim Kaine has a law degree from Harvard, but he’s joined the “don’t know much about history” crowd. In a speech on police reform, Kaine declared that the first slaves came to America in 1619, and that “the United States didn’t inherit slavery from anybody. We created it.

As noted at the link, not only did the United States not yet exist in 1619, but slavery had existed for many centuries, all over the world (indeed, in nations that did not fight a bloody civil war to end it, slavery still exists.) I know that liberals love to attack conservatives for believing that the Bible is actual history, but in this case, I’d suggest that Sen. Kaine pick up a Bible and discover just how long slavery was around before there even was a United States of America for Democrats to blame for all the evils since the beginning of time.

"Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning;

for in thee do I trust:

cause me to know the way wherein I should walk;

for I lift up my soul unto thee."

Psalm 143:8 (KJV)

As people in charge of Justice in their districts show a dislike for America Judges Sullivan, the moron in Texas that wanted the Salon Owner to knee before him, the AG in Atlanta, with charges of stealing funds, and overcharging the Atlanta Police department, John Roberts of the Supreme court and his use of office and refusal to be responsible to the Constitution maybe for monetary gain now has Niel G. on the same path, the 9th District and all of its abuses going into court is has always been scary so many laws people are unaware of for sure when Judges do not abide by the law thats when the country starts in downward spiral. I want Justice, what happens when an over charged person walks away from a crime because of public pressure, people being charged of crime that they did not commit. My opinion of the Mpls. charge of Murder may not be convicted the chance is fair the policeman may get away, the Atlanta charge is moronic it maybe time for these Judges to get a new wardrobe and color change to the color of orange.

I read your newsletter almost daily and find it so inspiring to hear something that's not from the leftist media. It would be a good idea if you could somehow provide some of your comments for his campaign. I find it so informative. Maybe you are already doing so, but if not, I hope someone is paying attention to take on the events happening around our nation. God bless you and keep up the good work.

I appreciate reading your articles. Could your staff do some real reporting on how the Marxist Red Letter "Christians" are undermining groups like Christianity Today and the fake narrative about racism being pushed by BLM and Antifa. Some are waking up to the lie. Recently black conservative preachers are stating the problem is bias and bigotry. It us sad to see how many who say they are believers being led down.the rabbit trail and their faith becoming a social gospel Marxist faith

I think I am having trouble reconciling the notion that apparently anger and hatred are barriers to contracting the CCP virus & create a healthy personality/environment versus just wearing masks and practicing physical distancing. OR that the statue of the freed slave getting up off his knees to thank President Lincoln is offensive, but the House of Representatives kneeling in submission/homage to hate & anger is not.

Trumps executive order is spot on. having a national database to weed out the "bad apples" .

on the social side to start a program when the child is born- to identify ALL Cultures the father or father figure. then start visiting and teaching men to be fathers. checking on the home life and how the child is being guided by the father. (even if not living in the house- I know it is all about child support and how they are not going to pay it- but somehow to divide the two distinct issues) we have visiting nurses for the new mothers. a program for new fathers. to handle the men anger/violence before it is passed on the babies.

question: where are the drug tests for the police and criminal when an arrest happens ? (construction workers if there is an accident - no matter how minor- a drug test MUST be done)
we need to document the usage of drugs. cocaine makes a person Hercules strong and gruesome crimes. the union did not want a database and the lawyers do not want a drug test. it should be mandatory .

OJ could have been on drugs when he might have killed Nicole. His drug test was not done until he underwent emergency hand surgery and a haircut that shaved his head. Then the test was done. Johnny Cockran was his lawyer. And also William Jefferson Clinton's behind the scene lawyer until the blue dress showed up.

In the movie Gladiator - who ever controls the crowd- controls the power. all this verbal attacks from the left is to control the crowd. The right needs to - not by arguing- because the left loves to argue - as they intend to win every argument - that is what narcissistic personalities do. The right needs to Lead..... Trump understands that instinctively.

I think the president getting involved in local police matters is wrong. Where in the constitution is the federal government given authority over local police? It is not there so it is reserved for the states of the people.

    Amendment X

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

I’m very glad that when I attended public school we didn’t have police guards. I’m even happier because we didn’t need them. Sad that we do now.

Do you know what it feels like when EVERYONE is SO concerned about "black people" who are receiving unfair treatment by the cops? It feels like discrimination! It's wrong to choose to defend one race because it's popular. Whites die just as often, if not more often than blacks. Where is the outrage? Why doesn't anyone care about other races? I'm not racist, I determine who an individual is by their soul no matter the color of their skin. It hurts me deeply every time I hear the US screaming over Floyd when my son was also murdered by an angry cop. No justice has been served, no one to investigate since the "bad cops" investigate themselves and have everyone in this area in their "back pockets". I'm never going to get any kind of justice for my son compared to what Floyd is getting. All I want is justice in my son's case, for someone to be responsible for taking my child away from me. Is that too much to ask for?

After a person told me she was a graduate of an Ivy League school I just said the country is worse off because of it. Immediate anger, as i tried to leave my message behind for her to think about it. Didn't happened she grabbed my arm and wanted an explanation. Are you old enough to handle the reasons? I gave her a few your entrance to school was thru the gift of money, influence to get more money for the schools the endowments the school have are larger than most countries have, the anti American traits you get from Chinese backers and other anti American contributors is it any wonder you lean outside of this country for loyalty, most people of those schools deal on a large scale of corruption it doesn't matter what corruption you are taught the methods. I was making it up at the time about 12 years ago and as I look at it today I may not have been too far from the truth. I let her know I would trust a graduate of the Wisconsin run State school before I would trust an Ivy Leaguer. She finally let go of my arm. I still think of the IVY Schools as some good mostly bad.

We have had a Country of Prosperity in Spite of Democrats sense Slavery, The Great Depression, and their Overwhelming Regulations to Tax our Citizens out of a Prosperous Economy by Sending our Jobs Over Seas! Our Working Citizens did this even under Democrats Crushing Regulations of Government Tax Tyranny for Power and Wealth, Obama Lied about who Built this Country! It was Working Citizens, not Corrupt Government who has never Produced a Penny, only Taken from those who do! With every vote for 200 years Democrats have Proved they do not Represent Citizens, But themselves only! Democrats have turned a Country where Citizens Work their whole lives and should be Happy, Healthy, and Wise, into a Society under the Control and Oppression of the Democrat Created Government Criminal Organization of Protection Money Tyranny Crushing Citizens Lives! Think about it for even a minute and you will realize a Country as Prosperous as America and Citizens who work all their Lives and Support themselves, could not and would not have the Problems and Poverty We do, if not for Democrat Racism, Oppression, Corruption, and Tyranny! The things Trump ran for Office to End and could with Citizens Full Support! We must Vote the Democrat Wise Guys out of Government to take Back our Country and Lives! Vote Conservative Republicans or Support that which you Protest against! How Hard is that!
