GQ magazine named Colin Kaepernick, the NFL player who started the whole protesting during the National Anthem craze, as its “Citizen of the Year.” You know, because he’s risked so much to defend his principles. Personally, I might have chosen US military veterans for the honor, considering they didn’t just risk lucrative NFL contracts but their lives and limbs. But then, I guess they don’t fit GQ’s preferred lifestyle of “metrosexuality.” Or maybe GQ just sympathizes with Kaepernick because they know how it feels to experience a steep erosion in customer support.

Only other reason I can think of for GQ honoring Colin Kaepernick would be if GQ were owned by Major League Baseball.
