BIBLE VERSE OF THE DAY

The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.

Story To Make Your Weekend

By Mike Huckabee

In Vail, Arizona, hundreds of parents showed up at a school board meeting to protest the mask mandate on children and demand that masks be made optional. The board members didn’t want to listen and walked out before the meeting began. So under Roberts’ Rules of Order, the parents elected a new school board to replace them, which promptly voted to make masks for kids optional.

Since Democrats are always talking about defending democracy, I’m sure they’ll love this story as much as I do.

Hot Mics

By Mike Huckabee

What is more dangerous to the leftist cause? Two "woke" college professors who don't realize their microphones are on when they're talking about how they abuse their positions to force a lot of social justice propaganda on their students?...

https://redstate.com/alexparker/2021/04/29/two-social-justice-professors-get-caught-on-an-open-mic-before-a-school-board-meeting-n371577

...Or President Biden talking when he DOES know his microphone is on?

Reminder: Our Police Put Their Lives On The Line Everyday

By Mike Huckabee

This week brought some horrifying reminders of what a dangerous job police officers have, and how they put their lives on the line every day to protect the public. Those who preach about how they should be doing their jobs from the safety of their homes that the police protect should take a look at these stories and ask how they would act if their jobs required them to deal with people like this. Needless to say, I hope you will join me in praying for all the victims and their families.

In Watauga County, North Carolina, five people are dead after a 13-hour police standoff with a shooter who eventually committed suicide. Two deputies who were called for a welfare check were ambushed and killed. Another was shot in the head, but saved from injury by a protective helmet. When the stand-off ended, police discovered a mother, stepfather and son dead inside the house, but it’s not clear at this writing which one was the shooter who killed the other two and the two officers.

In New Mexico, Las Cruces police officer Adrian De La Garza was shot by a suspect wanted for killing another state trooper during a traffic stop. But De La Garza got up, returned fire and survived. The shooter/alleged cop killer did not.

In Delmar, Delaware, police Corporal Keith Heacook has died of injuries from being viciously bludgeoned by a suspect who also assaulted two elderly neighbors. Heacook had no backup when he was sent alone to investigate a report of a fight because of “major understaffing and underfunding within the department.” Please note: Defunding the police kills people.

In suburban Phoenix, a violent felon stole a car and led police on a wild chase, during which he struck and killed 18-year veteran officer Christopher Ferrar and critically injured another officer.

https://www.sfgate.com/news/article/Arizona-1-officer-killed-1-hurt-by-suspect-in-16141371.php

Yes, I know there are examples of bad policing, and a need for reform and better training in some cities. But those who blame the police for every interaction with suspects that turns violent never seem to consider whether the suspects might bear any responsibility. Nor do they show any empathy for officers who never know when they leave for work each day if they’ll come home alive, and who never know what’s waiting behind that closed door or inside that dark car that they have to deal with. It’s a job that I can’t imagine their critics being able to handle for a single day.

And speaking of those critics who can’t see how unreasonable they’re being, check out this professor at California’s Cypress College berating a student in class for saying that cops are heroes and there's nothing wrong with showing them on a children’s show called “Paw Patrol.”

https://www.toddstarnes.com/campus/video-college-professor-lashes-out-at-student-for-saying-cops-are-heroes/

You know who are definitely not heroes? Nasty, arrogant college professors who impose their radical politics on a captive audience of students.

Fun With Polling

By Mike Huckabee

A new Rasmussen poll found that a plurality of US voters, 44 percent, think that President Biden’s first 100 days have been a failure. Only 36% think he’s been a success, and 18% say it’s somewhere in between.

https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/matt-margolis/2021/04/30/a-plurality-of-voters-deem-bidens-first-100-days-a-failure-n1443775

In light of that, it’s truly amazing that a CBS poll claims that 85% of Americans approved of Biden’s address to Congress on Thursday. As noted by Redstate.com, those are the kind of leader approval numbers you expect from the North Korean media.

https://redstate.com/nick-arama/2021/04/29/americans-call-b-s-on-cbs-poll-claiming-85-approve-of-biden-speech-n371200

So they took a closer look at CBS’ “representative poll sample.” Considering it was only 18% Republicans, I assume they were looking for a sample that represents the political leanings of the Brown University faculty, the ladies on “The View,” or possibly the Emmy Awards.

Here’s our Friday Feel-Good Story

By Mike Huckabee

Dylan Shakespeare Robinson, 23, a BLM “mostly peaceful protester” who helped set fire to a Minneapolis police station during a mostly peaceful violent riot, has been sentenced to four years in federal prison, two years of supervised release, and repayment of $12 million restitution.

He was charged with helping tear down the perimeter fence and lighting a Molotov cocktail that another “peaceful protester” hurled into the occupied building, putting those inside at risk of being burned to death. All this while other “peaceful protesters” stood by chanting, “Burn it down! Burn it down!” (Note to Nancy Pelosi: This is what an actual insurgency looks like.) Three others have pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit arson in connection with the assault, but have yet to be sentenced.

https://www.westernjournal.com/justice-rioter-fined-12-million-helping-set-fire-minneapolis-police-station-blm-riots/

Robinson’s attorney protested that there is “no realistic chance” that he’ll be able to pay back $12 million, but he can think about how to do that during all the spare time he’ll have behind bars, along with, let us hope, reflecting on what he did and how he allowed his “passion for justice” to justify committing arson of an occupied building.

The Acting US Attorney said that Robinson chose (and “chose” is an important word to emphasize; these are not children but adults who should be able to control their behavior) to depart from legal protest and commit violence and destruction that put people’s lives at risk and contributed to widespread lawlessness. He said, “With today’s sentence, Mr. Robinson is held accountable for his actions.” Since the leaders of BLM keep lecturing us on accountability, I assume they have no objections to his sentence.

Note to Democrats in high political positions: If you had dealt with violent rioters this way right at the start - by arresting them and holding them accountable for their crimes instead of ordering the police to stand down, refusing to allow federal troops to stop them, blaming Trump for their violence, making excuses for them, contributing to funds to bail them out, or just letting them go the next day to do it again -- we wouldn’t still be dealing with their lawlessness to this day.

Maybe they wouldn’t be so convinced that they can get away with murder that Antifa (not a terrorist group but merely an “idea,” according to President Biden) released a video literally threatening to murder Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler. It also gave out his home address.

https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/bryan-preston/2021/04/29/breaking-in-chilling-video-antifa-doxes-threatens-to-kill-portland-mayor-ted-wheeler-n1443543

The coward making the threat was wearing a mask, but I presume it was hiding the face of a particular individual who has left some sort of trail on the Internet that authorities can track. If the feds can take the time to raid Rudy Giuliani’s apartment just to look for something he might have done wrong, they can find this punk. So get on it. Dylan Shakespeare Robinson needs a cellmate.

A Reader Writes Back...

I also was offended when Biden remarked that "We the people" are the government. The people ELECT the government, the government represents "We the people"...it is NOT the people. Thank you, Gov. Huckabee, for your continued service.
