THE LATEST NEWS

1. PA secretary of state tries to block Senate's Dominion audit:

The state Senate in Pennsylvania is trying to conduct an audit of the 2020 election, but the auditors they hired from the Amistad Project have run into a roadblock put up by the Pennsylvania Secretary of State.

It comes in the form of yet another lawsuit designed to prevent transparency. It’s hard to imagine a pushback this forceful unless it’s motivated by sheer terror over what auditors might find.

https://www.theamistadproject.org/blog/pa-secretary-of-state-sues-to-block-access-to-dominion-machines

As Phillip Kline, former attorney general of Kansas and now of the Amistad Project, tweeted: “Pennsylvania secretary of state is now suing to prevent the State Senate from examining Dominion machines from Fulton County. The courts have no business micro-managing a co-equal branch of government. Judges in PA seem to understand that. The left is terrified they won’t be able to stop the legislature from conducting a genuine investigation of the lawless 2020 election.”

He continued: “The US Government, in monitoring foreign elections, requires transparency, inclusion, and accountability. Yet, Democratic officials in PA and the [Merrick] Garland-led Justice Department threaten and sue legislators who in fulfilling their constitutional duties seek to access machines.”

And more: “Things Dominion does not allow government officials to do with its voting machines:

1) Transfer or copy any part of the software onto any other device.

2) Decipher or analyze any part of the software.

3) Make any ‘derivative works’ of the software.”

How is anyone supposed to determine whether or not there was a problem with Dominion software? We have to wonder if DNC attorney Marc Elias might be part of the group holding the line to make sure no one looks at those voting machines or any data from them. As Kline put it: “Pennsylvania’s governor, AG, secretary of the commonwealth [secretary of state], and their high-powered law firms are all coming after tiny Fulton County and The Amistad Project, just to prevent state lawmakers from inspecting Dominion voting machines. It’s like David vs. a whole army of Goliaths.”

https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2021/12/absolute-panic-pennsylvania-democrat-secretary-state-sues-prevent-state-senate-audit-examining-dominion-voting-machines/

Here’s the “emergency application” for an order prohibiting “spoliation of key evidence [examination of the Dominion machines] scheduled to occur on December 22, 2021.”

https://www.scribd.com/document/548219058/PA-AG-Application-for-Emergency-Relief-to-Prevent-Elec-Audit-in-PA#from_embed

In the application, they even include this provision: “Petitioners shall take all necessary steps --- which may include returning the Electronic Voting Machines to Dominion Voting Systems in a manner that maintains chain of custody –- to preserve the Electronic Voting Machines, and any data stored thereon, in a secured and unaltered state pending further order of this Court.”

They’d like that, wouldn’t they? How convenient to return the voting machines –- “and any data stored thereon” –- to Dominion without anyone having the chance to examine them.

We like to look at what local news outlets are saying about a local story, so here’s a link to one. Be warned, however, that it editorializes in the usual way by saying claims of voter fraud are “baseless.” The claims might not be proven beyond doubt, but they certainly are not baseless, and the obligatory use of this word strikes us not only as baseless but also brainless. There is plenty of reason to audit these machines.

https://www.pennlive.com/elections/2021/12/pa-gov-wolf-manufacturers-want-to-keep-republican-election-investigation-away-from-voting-machines.html

Phill Kline also wrote a great op-ed for the Wisconsin Daily Star about this case. I’m glad this appeared in Wisconsin, as that state has its share of problems, too, with trust in the system, and rightly so.

https://wisconsindailystar.com/2021/12/15/phill-kline-commentary-its-not-good-when-public-officials-fear-transparency/

Dominion Voting Systems says that allowing the Pennsylvania Senate Republicans’ contractor access to its equipment’s digital data violates their contract. If it does, then by this statement Dominion has shown this is not the way we should be doing business, as such a contract with a voting systems company effectively renders any election impossible to audit.

And if these electronic voting systems can’t be audited –- and I mean immediately, the day after the election –- they need to be GONE, banished from our shores. Americans should not have to wait weeks, months, even years to know what the real outcome was, if we ever do. Since state legislatures are in charge of running elections (regardless of what Marc Elias and other Democrat attorneys might think), they some of them could start a push for this NOW. Perhaps the various banana republics around the world that need only the appearance of real elections can provide them with enough business to keep voting systems companies profitable.

Leftists always say they’re so interested in protecting “our democracy” and maintaining faith in the system, but if they really were, they’d want these dicey electronic systems gone as well, as roughly half the country doesn’t trust them, and for good reason. If leftists really wanted to stop voter suppression and make sure elections reflect the will of the people, they’d join us in calling for old-fashioned in-person voting with paper ballots and I.D., to keep voter fraud from canceling out REAL votes.

Of course, we know that’s not what leftists want at all.

Readers ask me every day what we can do to help with the grassroots effort needed to bring back accountability and honesty in our elections. The Amistad Project links to an organization called American Voter’s Alliance, which is a network designed to help concerned citizens find election-integrity groups in their state. It also has an events calendar for various election-related deadlines. It promotes the elusive election standards of transparency, inclusivity, accountability, participation and simplicity. And membership is free.

2. MAILBAG --- Attention Wyoming voters:

This letter came in response to our story on Liz Cheney being “the new Adam Schiff.”

From Lynette:

We have a serious problem in Wyoming. As much as we'd like to get rid of Liz, we don't have "run off" elections and two people are running against her which almost guarantees she'll get the win due to $ and name recognition (low information voters!!). We've been trying to get some form of a "run off" election passed through the legislature but so far we have not been successful. I am praying the Anthony Bouchard will bow out and support Hageman.

From the Gov:

Thanks for writing, Lynette. This is the problem with three-way races, just as it is with third parties in general. The will of the Republican voters in red-state Wyoming surely is that Liz Cheney be sent packing, but unless you can go to a primary system with a run-off, the Republican vote will be split and Cheney, unbelievably, could still win. In the meantime, one of the real Republicans --- Cheney is not a real Republican --- will have to see the writing on the wall and drop out of the race to ensure that the other real Republican wins. If he doesn’t, one has to wonder what purpose he is really serving in the race.

3. Abuses of power threaten our nation:

Regardless of who is in power, the one thing Americans deserve and demand of their government is that it sees its power as a sacred trust from the people and operates even-handedly within the law. There should be no difference at all in how a Democrat or a Republican is treated by the government, whether it’s agencies like the IRS or by the Department of Justice, the FBI, and the court system. Lady Justice is supposed to be blind to everything but the law and her scales are to be even. Sadly, most of us know that is simply not the case these days. The weaponization and politicization of the highest levels of law enforcement such as the FBI in trying to tie Donald Trump to the Russians are a prime example. Indictments handed down by special prosecutor John Durham already reveal that there was a vast conspiracy that started from the Hillary Clinton campaign and its operatives resulting in fabricated dossiers used to actually spy on the Trump campaign in 2016 and even after he was sworn in as President. The cover-up led all the way to the Director of the FBI, the head of the CIA, as well as corrupt members of Congress like Adam Schiff, Eric Swalwell, Jerry Nadler, and others who unleashed the full power of the federal government to discredit Donald Trump and to protect those who abused their positions of trust in the government and who should be in prison right now.

This is not a small thing. When Richard Nixon abused his power as President and surrounded himself with those who committed crimes to influence an election and then to cover it up, there was a universal anger from not just Democrats, but Republicans as well. And the media relentless pursued the truth wherever it led them.

Those days are gone. We’ve seen disgusting abuses of power in our government toward people just like you. In the Obama years, Lois Lerner, a high-level IRS official, singled out conservative, pro-life, and pro-Christian organizations to deny them non-profit status and targeted some with such heavy-handed tactics that they ultimately ceased to exist because they couldn’t match the resources of the federal government to fight back.

The greatest threat to our nation, its institutions, and to our children is not the national debt, although it’s a serious threat to our economy. It’s not what China or Russia might do or attempt to do, regardless of how bold they might be in cyber-attacks or worse, a military assault. The greatest threat to America is not even the hyper-partisan and radically left social media and high-tech giants, and they pose serious threats to Constitutionally protected free speech. The greatest single threat to our nation is that our own government would engage in nothing less than criminal enterprises to deprive some Americans of due process and equal protection under the law and would excuse and ignore criminal behavior on the part of those who are on the side of the political party in power. If we can’t trust our law enforcement officials, the courts, and the legislature and executive branches to play straight, it’s not a matter of IF we will collapse, but WHEN. During my tenure as Governor, one of my regulatory agencies came to me and told me that a personal friend and long-time supporter of mine was engaging in unlawful activities regarding that industry. When they asked what they should do, I immediately said, “It’s simple: You treat that individual no better or no worse, but if the law has been broken, spare nothing.” That cost me the friendship of the individual as well as friends as family members of the individual, but better to lose friends than lose one’s honor and solemn duty to treat all persons the same. That means treating a political adversary as fairly as a friend and a friend no different than a foe. If government fails to do that and treats power as if it’s a political license to destroy opposition, our government is more corrupt than anything or anyone it tries to adjudicate. And we really will have lost the country.

4. Manchin is a no:

Sen. Joe Manchin announced on Fox News Sunday that after months of negotiations and doing “everything humanly possible” to try to make Biden’s “Build Back Better” Act acceptable, he cannot vote for it.

With 50 Republican Senators also a hard “no” and Sen. Kyrsten Sinema still on the fence, that pretty much sticks a fork into the left’s hopes of shoving through a massive, transformative spending and government bloating bill disguised as a budget resolution. Manchin said that between rising inflation, the national debt, "geopolitical unrest," and the COVID-19 pandemic, this bill was just too much, and he couldn’t explain to his constituents why he would vote for it.

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/manchin-says-he-cannot-vote-for-build-back-better-ive-done-everything-humanly-possible

The panic in the White House over Manchin’s surprise announcement was obvious. Having gotten wind of it, they tried to place a frantic phone call to Manchin before he went on the air. He refused to take it.

https://www.westernjournal.com/power-move-manchin-refused-1-frantic-phone-call-right-killed-bidens-bill-live-tv/

From the wailing and gnashing of teeth among liberal media talking (or shrieking) heads, you’d think that Manchin had voted to ban hair mousse. They called Manchin’s decision “devastating,” and some complained that one man was blocking the “people’s agenda.” Among the more hysterical were MSNBC’s Medhi Hasan, who said he was “killing the Biden legislative agenda, and perhaps the future of American democracy” and WaPo’s Jennifer Rubin, who ludicrously tweeted, "If Manchin is no on both BBB and voting, Biden is done. Democracy is hanging by a thread. Hard to think of anyone more destructive."

https://www.foxnews.com/media/manchin-media-critics-predict-vote-democracy

And of course, “The Squad” were spreading vitriol and ignorance all over Twitter, claiming that West Virginians wanted this bill and would benefit from it, while socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders declared that Manchin “has a lot of explaining to do” to West Virginia voters.

https://www.westernjournal.com/squad-rages-manchin-kills-build-back-better/

Okay, to throw some cold water of reality on all that flaming nonsense: the latest poll of West Virginians by MBE Research found that Manchin has a 60% approval rating compared to Biden’s 32%, and they want Manchin to oppose the BBB bill by 74-24%.

https://www.wvnews.com/news/wvnews/polling-shows-west-virginians-approve-of-justice-manchin-disapprove-of-biden/article_2ca94712-46e7-11ec-853e-3b947a5f34de.html

As for all that “threat to democracy” palaver: first of all, we don’t have a democracy, we have a republic. Each of the fifty states gets two Senators. Manchin is beholden to the people of West Virginia, not Biden, the Democratic Party, the media or the wishes of Bernie Sanders.

But since they do seem so fixated on “democracy” and majority rule by even the slightest majority, here are some basic facts: one Senator couldn’t possibly block this bill. But one Democrat plus all 50 Republicans equals 51 votes, or 51%, and that’s a narrow majority. In fact, it's the exact same vote (including the VP’s tie-breaker) that they claim would be legitimate grounds for forcing this boondoggle on us all. So in that sense, “democracy” hasn’t been destroyed, it’s been upheld.

When I saw the terrifying results of the 2020 elections, I knew that the future of America was indeed now “hanging by a thread,” and that thread was Joe Manchin’s sincerity about being a genuine moderate Democrat who would represent the will of the people who voted for him. While I still disagree with him on certain issues, he’s proven to have incredible strength of character and a willingness to endure the kind of all-out vicious media assault that the left has turned into a science.

It’s possible that he’s not only helped save America by blocking these awful bills, but also by giving us a shining example of how someone can stand up to the media and social media bully mobs, refuse to cave to them, and come out more popular than ever. America owes him a profound debt of gratitude on both counts.

PS – This still doesn’t mean that Republicans can let their guards down even for a moment. Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer are already vowing to try to resuscitate this dead donkey after New Year’s. And as we learned from Obamacare, never underestimate their determination to pull every maneuver and dirty trick in the book to force a massive, expensive, transformative bill that most Americans don’t want down our throats anyway.

5. CNN Update:

Today’s Bidenism #1: In signing a measure to speed up the process of Congress raising the debt ceiling by another 2-1/2 trillion dollars, President Biden declared, “The United States pays its debts when they are due. That’s why today, I signed a bill to fast-track the process to raise our debt limit.”

I don’t think “pays our debts” means what he thinks it means.

Today’s Bidenism #2: Here’s a new word for your vocabulary: “Expodentially.” Try to use it in a sentence with “strategery.”

GOOD KING WENCESLAS

Today's Christmas Carol is recommended by Chris M.

LISTEN: https://youtu.be/l4MWOpEXe5w

1 Good King Wenceslas looked out on the Feast of Stephen,

When the snow lay round about, deep and crisp and even.

Brightly shone the moon that night, though the frost was cruel,

When a poor man came in sight, gath’ring winter fuel.

2 “Hither, page, and stand by me, if you know it, telling,

Yonder peasant, who is he? Where and what his dwelling?”

“Sire, he lives a good league hence, underneath the mountain,

Right against the forest fence, by Saint Agnes’ fountain.”

3 “Bring me food and bring me wine, bring me pine logs hither,

You and I will see him dine, when we bear them thither.”

Page and monarch, forth they went, forth they went together,

Through the cold wind’s wild lament and the bitter weather.

4 “Sire, the night is darker now, and the wind blows stronger,

Fails my heart, I know not how; I can go no longer.”

“Mark my footsteps, my good page, tread now in them boldly,

You shall find the winter’s rage freeze your blood less coldly.”

5 In his master’s steps he trod, where the snow lay dinted;

Heat was in the very sod which the saint had printed.

Therefore, Christian men, be sure, while God’s gifts possessing,

You who now will bless the poor shall yourselves find blessing.

I was so surprised to see Helena, Montana featured in your America the Beautiful section.
But I was equally disappointed in the picture that was chosen.
I'm not sure if this photo is copyright protected, but this is by far my favorite picture of our fair city. It features St. Helena Cathedral in front of a mountain formation that we call the Sleeping Giant. Hope you like it.

"Be warned, however, that it editorializes in the usual way by saying claims of voter fraud are “baseless.” - I have the misfortune to live in PA and you hit the nail on the head with your warning about the editorializing that PennLive.com does. My local paper (The Harrisburg Patriot-News) which owns that website is also famous for editorializing in so-called "news stories," which is why I stopped getting it years ago once it became an unrepentant socialist rag. PA is like the country in microcosm because the governor (Der Fuhrer Tom Wolf) and his minions do what they please without regard for the law or the state constitution and the local media dutifully report that all is well, put on your mask and stop asking questions. It was no shock to me that the state AG is suing to stop an investigation into the 2020 election since the Dems stole it fair and square and believe no one is allowed to look into their criminal activities. PA has a long tradition of crooked politicians getting off with a slap on the wrist, if that, so the fact that a few Republicans found the backbone to push for an investigation of the rigged election is quite heartening to those of us who still think the law applies to everyone. Since most judges in this state were appointed by Dem governors, that will undoubtedly be the deciding factor, but they get an E for effort anyway. Thanks for your refreshingly frank articles. Your newsletter is one of the only places I can read an honest account of what's going on in the country.

Years of donating to the Salvation Army was changed to 10% of past years donations. Observing our local CA (yes..California) Salvation Army during the many fires, windstorms, and homelessness...we have personally witnessed a true commitment to following Jesus Christ. Gov Huckabee, could you please explain what's going to happen now that the 6th circuit court has upheld Biden's vaccine mandates on businesses with 100 or more employees. Is this the beginning of the end??? I am truly frightened! Me & my family refuse to be vaccinated due to the inadequate testing of these vaccines particularly relative to children nor have the long-term affects been sufficiently explored. I am 67 & perfectly healthy, my daughter has auto immune issues & my grandchildren are also healthy. We continue to live our lives as if there is no pandemic & guess what, we are fine! We live in New Orleans, LA & Mayor Cantrell has imposed vaccine mandates on the city & now mandating children here have to be vaccinated to attend school in the city! Businesses are closing down right & left because of these mandates. I am totally feeling dejected!

Regarding the PA senate audit, or more specificly the Sec State's attempted blocking of it: I found the wording of the "emergency application" rich in irony--examining the evidence would be "spoilation of key evidence". So, you are saying that the dominion machines contain key evidence, but if you look at it you'll spoil it? Am I the only one who is seeing a "Schroedinger's Cat" moment here?! --

I also have a question for you: is there an easy to access source for a listing of the actual material evidence of voter tampering and fraud that occured in the 2020 election? I have read volumes of articles about the many various ways that this election was attacted, but it would be nice to have a "handy reference" source when trying to convince others.
Keep up the good work, Mike(and research team)!

Right now no one in the Biden Administration or in Congress or the Department of
the Treasury or Federal Reserve can see that 800 Pound Gorilla preparing to bust down
the door except for Manchin and Republicans and secretive Democrats fearing being known to Schumer and Pelosi and the Squad. That Gorilla is called Hyper Inflation and when he or she busts down the door, no one will be safe from its effects and we will look like a Venezuela on steroids as China and Russia and North Korea and Iran are sitting there laughing at our worthless dollar in the World Money Markets.

I've been thinking about the quality of military leadership we have now. I've come to the following conclusions:
If they had been in charge during the first two world wars, Eisenhower, McArthur, Patton and Bradley would have been dishonorably discharged before they could have been promoted to First Lieutenant.
We would all be speaking German and/or Japanese.
This column wouldn't be allowed to exist.
