I promised I wouldn’t cover all the rumbling over whether Biden will or won’t drop out of the race, but here are a few of the more interesting moments in that saga from Monday.
1. The White House denied that records showing eight visits over eight months by a Parkinson’s disease expert had anything to do with Biden, claiming it’s part of the doctor's regular visits to the White House Medical Clinic for White House support staff.

2. In a testy exchange with reporters, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre announced that later this week, President Biden will hold a “big boy press conference.” Reporters seemed taken aback that she actually used that term. Apparently, it means a press conference where someone answers unscripted questions, like Trump used to do for 90 minutes. I’m assuming this will take place before 4 p.m., but even so, it could be another Buttigieg-level train wreck. At least, judging by story number 3…
3. Monday morning, Biden called in to Joe Scarborough’s show on MSNBC to dispel the notion that he’s too mentally unstable to be President. If you think angry ranting is a qualification for the Oval Office, then mission accomplished. He challenged any Dem “elites” who think he can’t do the job, “If any of these guys don’t think I should run, run against me. Go ahead. Announce for president. Challenge me at the convention.”
(Note: The party did everything in its power to prevent anyone from challenging Biden in the primaries, which is why he ran unopposed, but still lost a significant percentage of the vote to “Uncommitted.” Maybe they thought the choices were between “Uncommitted” and “Should be committed.”)
Another bizarre moment came when Biden again repeated the widely-debunked lie that Trump called fallen World War I soldiers “suckers and losers” during a visit to France, this time adding something new, ranting, “I was with him!” No, Joe, you weren’t.
