At this writing, news is starting to break --- though details are yet to come --- about the FBI’s “collaboration” (it’s fun to use “collaboration” in this context) with lawyers working for Hillary Clinton and the DNC to damage President Trump.  The story should be out sometime Tuesday, and it’s expected to be huge.  If the evidence is there, it’s just one more case of Democratic politics corrupting everything it touches.

Sara A. Carter has already reported that there were meetings between then-FBI general counsel James Baker and Michael Sussman, an attorney for Perkins Coie, the law firm that was paid millions by the DNC and Hillary’s campaign to hire Fusion GPS to dig up anything it could on Donald Trump, which they did by hiring virulently anti-Trump British ex-spy Christopher Steele to write his unsubstantiated “dossier.”  According to John Solomon, the news also concerns the classification of FBI documents:  a “smoking gun” that shows this was not done to protect national security but to cover up what they’d been doing.

Catherine Herridge at FOX News has reported that Sussman not only met with the FBI, but passed them documents pertaining to alleged Russian hacking.  On Monday’s “Hannity” TV show, Sara Carter said that Sussman even gave Baker some version of Steele’s dossier.  At this point, we’re waiting on evidence that reportedly shows someone at a “very high level” in the DOJ was seeking revenge for Trump’s firing of Comey.

All this is consistent with what we’ve suspected for a long time and have talked about here, and it makes sense out of the FBI’s many months of stonewalling in the face of subpoenas and Freedom Of Information Act requests.  After all, why should they want us to see anything that so thoroughly incriminates them?  The testimony by Baker is reportedly explosive.

Hurricane Michael

By Mike Huckabee

Residents of the Florida Panhandle are bracing for Hurricane Michael, which is being described as a “monstrous” and potentially historic storm.  Yes, for those who are concerned, I do have a home in the storm’s projected path, and we’ve been very busy battening down the hatches, preparing and praying.  I hope everyone else does, too.  Please keep tuned to local news for the latest weather bulletins and evacuation orders.  And of course, your prayers for everyone in the storm’s path are much appreciated.

"More ruthless"

By Mike Huckabee

As if an approaching hurricane weren’t bad enough, here’s another scary thought for today: Politico reports that after smearing Brett Kavanaugh as a drunken teenage gang rapist and exposing him, his family and supporters to death threats failed to stop his confirmation, Democrats are wondering if it might be time to get “more ruthless.” editor Jon Gabriel has the perfect response to that at the link.  I’d ask how it would be possible for them to act more ruthless, but I’m afraid they’d show me.  They’re probably already planning it, anyway.

Special education teacher tweets about killing Kavanaugh

By Mike Huckabee

Update: The story about the special ed teacher in Minnesota who wrote a tweet urging someone to “take one for the team” and kill Brett Kavanaugh is apparently true, and she’s on paid leave while authorities investigate.  Sickening that this is someone entrusted with teaching our most vulnerable children.  Let’s hope the authorities teach her, and all deranged leftists who gin up violence toward those who don’t share their politics, a very important lesson.  More details at the link.

Madison, Wisconsin leaders vote to desecrate a mass grave

By Mike Huckabee

I have way too many occasions these days to quote the famous McCarthy-era line, “At long last, have you no decency?”  A lot of people on the left have been competing recently to see who can display the least amount of decency, but the leaders of Madison, Wisconsin, might have set a new low bar be demonstrating a vacuum of human decency.  As Rod Dreher notes at the link, it is one thing to call for taking down monuments to Confederate generals.  But Madison’s politicians voted overwhelmingly to remove a tombstone that did nothing but list the names of Confederate soldiers who died there in a prisoner-of-war camp. Do they really believe that they are signaling their virtue to the world by desecrating the mass grave of long-dead POWs?  Pathetic.

Compare that to the story Dreher relates of how both sides stopped fighting and showed respect for the dead when a Union naval commander committed suicide during an attack on the South.  The current leftist leaders of Madison have actually found a way to express less basic human decency than earlier Americans displayed in the middle of a Civil War.

Courage under fire

By Mike Huckabee

A Huck’s Hero salute to Patrick Shields of Jackson, Tennessee.  Friday night, he was cleaning up after a tailgate party for his son’s high school football game when a teenage shooter began firing a pistol.  While everyone else was running away, Shields sprang into action.  He rushed the shooter from behind, grabbed him by the pistol arm, threw him against a fence and held him on the ground until police arrived.  Two young men were struck with bullets, but they were treated and will recover.

Police praised Shields for saving many lives. But considering he’s a 22-year Army veteran who served three deployments and currently serves in the National Guard, his heroic actions and courage under fire weren’t surprising.  And you could safely say that he’s probably already saved many lives even before this.

Daily Verse

"And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."
