Around Hunter Biden, whole lotta spyin' goin' on

Suddenly, stories are appearing about Hunter Biden’s assistant --- the one he had during his association with corrupt Chinese energy company CEFC --- being a suspected Chinese honeypot, as if this were some new revelation. Readers of this newsletter have been aware of this for some time, though we did not allege a sexual affair, and there still doesn’t seem to be evidence of that. The story broke in the U.K. DAILY MAIL over a year ago. Here’s their updated version…

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9522591/Hunter-Bidens-close-relationship-Chinese-American-secretary-revealed.html

This was during a particularly debauched period in Hunter’s life, and JiaQi ("Jackie") Bao was extremely focused on him, writing him three-page, single-spaced letters musing about all sorts of things. She strongly encouraged him to get his father –- “Uncle Joe” –- to run for President and even provided him with opposition research to help his dad’s campaign. AMERICAN THINKER has a...thoughtful...piece that concludes, “If Bao was indeed a Chinese agent, she held him in the palm of her hand.”

https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2022/09/hunter_bidens_close_relationship_with_the_assistant_to_chinas_spy_chief.html

The reason this is news again is that apparently there’s a whistleblower who’s come forward to confirm that, yes, she was a spy. But back in January of this year, Peter Schweizer, in his book RED HANDED, mentioned her by name and said she’d been employed by the Chinese government’s National Development and Reform Commission as a research assistant. Then she went to work for an investment firm called OpenGate Capital, which had known ties to the CCP. So, along with her move to the CEFC, her employment history shows a solid association with the Chi-Comms. And in 2017, when Hunter Biden went into business with CEFC, she was “assigned” to him. It’s hard to imagine they would “assign” any person to him who wouldn’t be spying.

As House Oversight Committee member James Comer of Kentucky says, it’s yet another “national security nightmare” connected to Hunter Biden. JiaQi (“Jackie”) Bao certainly did prove invaluable to Hunter in brokering the deal between CEFC and natural gas suppliers in the U.S.

https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/victoria-taft/2022/09/27/joe-and-hunters-fang-fang-problem-n1632746

And why would a short-term Chinese assistant be so interested in getting "Uncle Joe" elected as President?

Leftists, predictably, have focused on the somewhat indelicate phrasing of Rep. Comer’s comments about the Chinese assistant so they don’t have to think about the national security ramifications of Hunter’s relationship with her. Comer was even accused of being racist towards Asian women, when he was talking specifically about women enlisted to spy for the CCP. One stellar tweet that reveals the leftist mentality: “Lmao [laughing my a** off] they are sh** scared of the upcoming J6 hearing, not to mention the DOJ/FBI catching Trump red-handed stealing classified documents.”

If you’d like to read more inane drivel, here’s a link, but please don’t feel obligated to go there unless you want an excuse to pound your head against the wall.

Also, concern about this is not sexist towards “very attractive” (Comer’s words) lady spies. Recall that Hunter himself referred to CEFC’s Patrick Ho as “the f-ing spy chief of China.” (Bao came to Biden’s office after being Ho’s assistant.) We still don’t know how much of an exaggeration this comment might be, but spy chief or not, he was tried in 2017 in the Southern District of New York for bribing African leaders at the UN on behalf of CEFC, was found guilty and sentenced to three years in prison. From October 2020...

Interestingly, the 2017 news story from CNN about Ho being convicted does not mention the Biden family connection AT ALL. It must have been a closely-held secret then.

As it happens, that’s not the only spy story for today. Just as the Chinese spied on Hunter, so Hunter, through his attorney, allegedly spied on the crew that was filming the movie MY SON HUNTER last November. In an update, filmmaker Phelim McAleer has filed an ethics complaint with the California State Bar against Malibu lawyer (and Hunter's neighbor and so-called “sugar brother”) Kevin Morris for infiltrating the set of his movie. Morris allegedly flew in on a private jet and pretended to be an independent documentary filmmaker so he could find out more about McAleer’s Hunter project. As the complaint alleges, he was “performing legal investigative work on behalf of his client, Mr. Biden.”

https://nypost.com/2022/09/27/hunter-bidens-lawyer-allegedly-spied-on-my-son-hunter-set-complaint/

McAleer’s complaint says, “Mr. Morris intentionally concealed from us that at the time of this conversation and during the many hours of filming and interviews that he was retained by Mr. Hunter Biden. In a “planned deception,” “Mr Morris intentionally misrepresented to me that he had never met or spoken with Mr. Biden...”

This attorney, through his misrepresentation, gained full access to the set and the actors for several days, and it’s estimated that he and his team left with about 40 hours of film. Morris also represents Matt Stone and Trey Parker, the creators of SOUTH PARK, and allegedly used his 25-year relationship with them as cover while spying on the MY SON HUNTER set. No word on what they think about this.

The complaint alleges that Morris violated three rules of the State Bar of California and therefore is “unfit to be a lawyer in California or anywhere else.” It calls for Morris’ disbarment.

Morris has been called Hunter’s “sugar brother” because he lent Hunter $2.9 million to pay off his delinquent IRS bill and has been paying the $20,000-a-month rent (!) on his Malibu beach house. That’s enough sugar to cause diabetes. He described the indie film as “an amateurish movie that bombed.”

On the contrary, this movie is a viral sensation. And though Morris is a wealthy Malibu attorney and addict-enabler, he is not a film critic. The movie –- directed by my friend Robert Davi, who recently visited my TBN show to talk about it –- is very well-made, not a documentary but based on real events and possessing a satirical sense of humor reminiscent of other political films such as PRIMARY COLORS and WAG THE DOG. McAleer is a fine filmmaker who also produced and co-wrote the remarkable anti-abortion film GOSNELL.

I’m amazed MY SON HUNTER got made at all, considering the rampant political blacklisting for both actors and crew that goes on in Hollywood. Reportedly the made it on a budget of under $3 million. They shot it in Serbia, but even so, you know that almost the entire Hollywood talent pool would be scared out of their minds to participate, as they surely would be canceled. For conservatives –- or even non-conservatives who might dare to work on a project like this, the threat “You’ll never work in this town again!” hangs over their heads like the Sword of Damocles.

If you haven’t yet seen MY SON HUNTER, here’s where you can…

30 former FBI officials praise integrity of Steve Friend

In a piece of extremely gratifying news, Miranda Devine at the NEW YORK POST reports that 30 former FBI officials have come forward to back whistleblower Steve Friend, who protested against the heavy-handed use of SWAT teams against January 6 defendants facing misdemeanor charges. Many of them called him a “hero” for refusing to participate in the raids, which he characterized as unconstitutional in their use of excessive force against political dissenters.

Friend sent a report to Inspector General Michael Horowitz, saying also that the FBI has been manipulating case files to exaggerate the threat of domestic terrorism.

As you know, Steve has faced retaliation from the FBI for voicing his concerns and is now suspended. But he receives glowing praise from these former agents.

One after another, the comments are absolutely stellar. “It’s time to stop the FBI from being the enforcer of a political party’s ideology,” said Ernie Tibaldi, a retired agent from San Francisco. “We need to re-establish the FBI as the apolitical and independent law enforcement agency that it always was.”

Terry Turchie, who led the Unabomber task force, said he didn’t even use a SWAT team in 1996 when apprehending violent terrorist Ted Kaczynski, who had killed 3 people and injured 23 others. He called Friend “a model example of what FBI agents nationwide should be.”

“No real FBI agent would defend the position of using SWAT teams to arrest non-violent senior citizens and others with political opinions not currently tolerated by this administration,” he said, “compounded by the idea that many of these cases involve misdemeanor criminal charges.”

John Solomon has a report specifically about Turchie’s comments on the use of SWAT teams.

https://justthenews.com/government/federal-agencies/ex-fbi-boss-who-led-unabomber-task-force-decries-swat-teams-jan-6

Retired Special Agent David Baldovin, who served 25 years on SWAT teams, thanked Friend “for having the courage to say ‘hell, no’ to to the current bunch of FBI bureaucrats and tyrants. They do not represent Fidelity, Bravery and Integrity, but you, sir, certainly do.”

Echoing what whistleblower Kyle Seraphin said in that two-part interview we reviewed, Baldovin said, “The SWAT colleagues of yours who agree to participate in these police state tactics are doing the same thing as those in Germany who participated in war crimes. ‘Only following orders,’ right?” It’s great to know that the day-long visit by agents-in-training to the Holocaust Museum is still resonating with many of them.

Special Agent Dewanna Jackolski was of like mind and speaks with an eloquence that could be called Jeffersonian: “FBI Agents pledged to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic. [We] did not pledge unquestioning loyalty to any supervisor, director, president or political party. The oath does not state that we are to obey orders if those orders are being used to persecute individuals who disagree with the actions and policies of the politicians in power. There comes a time and place where our conscience, morality and humanity demand that we speak out and condemn the actions of the FBI.”

Former Supervisory Special Agent Urey Patrick articulated what we’ve suspected about changes at the FBI: “The FBI has mutated over the years. [When I joined, it] was an independent investigative agency essentially devoid of political partisanship, subordinate to but not subservient to the DOJ...Since then, it has inexorably devolved into just another supplicant agency doing the bidding of whatever political regime is in control of the DOJ. I don’t know if that is irreparable or not, but I do know that, if there is to be a restoration of FBI integrity, honor and calling to duty, it will only be because of men and women like you. For what it is worth, I am with you...in any way I can be –- as are countless others.”

This outpouring of support is what had to happen, and it did. Whistleblowers who said that rank-and-file agents were largely frustrated and concerned about the turn the FBI have been telling the truth. That realization is the first step.

Of course, just because some agents speak up, that doesn’t guarantee reform. Turchie told of how, after 9/11, some agents expressed their concern about abuse of surveillance powers to then-head of the FBI Robert Mueller. It probably won’t surprise you that Mueller rejected their advice. When Mueller retired, hundreds of agents signed a letter to incoming Director James Comey warning about “political bias and political compromise at the FBI.” Oh, yeah, he’d get right on that. Actually, he didn’t even acknowledge receipt of the letter. And current Director Christopher Wray is cast from the same mold.

This time, though, agents’ complaints are being offered much more publicly, at a time when our institutions truly are at a crossroads. This time, it has to be the start of something big.

You probably noticed that those who came forward in support of Steve Friend are retired agents who at least aren’t risking the loss of their job or pension. (That doesn’t lessen their contribution, for which we all should be eternally grateful) In breaking news late Thursday, FOX NEWS reported that whistleblowers are telling Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan, ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee, that the FBI now is so politicized, they’re trying to purge their staff of conservatives. They do this by revoking their security clearances (the right threatens “our democracy”?), which effectively prohibits them from working.

Jordan has written to Jennifer Moore, FBI assistant director of the Human Resources branch, to say “...we have received protected whistleblower disclosures that the FBI is engaging in a ‘purge’ of employees with conservative views by revoking their security clearances and indefinitely suspending these employees...” He told her it’s essential that she testify and formally requested that she preserve all “existing and future records” relating to the topics at issue. Whistleblowers have told him that Moore herself has been involved in revoking these clearances.

An FBI spokesperson released a statement denying they take action against employees “for exercising their First Amendment rights or for their political views.” They can deny it all day, but we see it happening. Attorney General Merrick Garland wrote a memo just two weeks ago to intimidate prospective FBI whistleblowers from speaking to members of Congress. And there HAS been retaliation, by suspension in the case of Steve Friend and revoking security clearances in others. The FBI has lied so much, we believe John Solomon’s reporting over their denials.

https://justthenews.com/accountability/whistleblowers/fbi-using-security-clearances-muzzle-critics-one-whistleblowers

Jordan appeared Thursday evening on Sean Hannity’s show, pointing out that Garland’s memo went out the very next day after he went on the show to announce there were 14 whistleblowers. “It was a memo designed to chill the speech,” he said, “of brave whistleblowers who want to come forward and tell us the truth.”

Former FBI Special Agent Jonathan Gilliam came on FOX NEWS early Friday morning to address the FBI’s denial. “Justice as we know it is not impartial,” he said. “We know that the DOJ is ideologically driven.” But he noted that Jim Jordan today is saying the same thing he did in 2017. “I look at Jim Jordan like Paul Revere...” he said. “The problem here is that we rely on the GOP largely to go and do battle with these leftists, and they have no strategic plan and nothing is being done.” We’re battling against an IDEOLOGY, he said, not just the DOJ and FBI. We’re fighting a conspiracy between elements in the public and private sectors “to bring this nation down.”

RELATED: The FBI supposedly raided Mar-A-Lago because...why? Because of documents he’d kept that had classified markings. The special master wanted the Trump team to produce evidence that he had declassified them. According to Matt Margolis, that evidence exists in the person of former White House adviser Kash Patel. He was there and saw it being done. That should be enough.

Also, another way the ‘Justice’ Department is targeting conservatives is by hitting them with “seditious conspiracy” charges, VERY rarely used and stemming from post-Civil War days. The trial of Oath Keepers co-founder Stewart Rhodes and several others started this week --- they’re in jury selection --- and that’s the big charge they face. It could mean 20 years in prison. Recurring theme

The latest conservative organization to be punished by YouTube for telling truths that the left doesn’t want you to hear is TK News. YouTube demonetized a brilliant video they created, claiming it “isn’t suitable for all advertisers.” This allegedly offensive video has no narration and makes no political statements. It’s just a tightly-edited five minutes’ worth of prominent Democrats (Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, Karine Jean-Pierre, Rob Reiner and many more) assaulting democracy and fomenting insurrection by claiming (“without evidence!”) that the 2016 election was rigged and stolen and that Trump was an illegitimate President.

https://instapundit.com/545243/

After the story started getting attention, YouTube reversed the ad ban, blaming it on “an error in our automated systems.” Funny how those errors always seem to go in one direction.

It’s also funny how leftists never seem to get banned from social media for telling lies, but conservatives are constantly getting banned for showing truths.

Hurricane Ian update

After ravaging Florida, Hurricane Ian weakened to a tropical storm, but it’s strengthened back to a category 1 hurricane over the ocean and is expected to make landfall again later today in South Carolina. If you are in its path, please watch the news closely and take all necessary precautions. If you are not in its path, please pray for those who are, and for those in Florida who have been left devastated by taking the blunt of Ian at its full strength. Here’s a link to Fox News’ continually-updated news on this deadly storm.

https://www.foxnews.com/live-news/hurricane-ian-tracker-news-path-weather-09-30-2022

In addition to massive property damage, officials in Florida have confirmed 10 deaths at this writing. So far, the claim by the Lee County Sheriff that he feared hundreds of deaths has not been substantiated, and let’s all pray he’s proven wrong, as I’m sure he is as well.

To give you an idea of the destructive power of Hurricane Ian, a Twitter user created a video from before-and-after photos of structures on Fort Myers Beach. It looks like a bomb site.

https://twitter.com/dww/status/1575595127988375552

A lot of people are still trying to use the hurricane to score cheap political points, which is reprehensible, whether they’re using it to attack Gov. DeSantis, who so far has shown outstanding leadership in preparing for and coping with the damage; or to promote their climate change agenda without scientific evidence.

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/democrats-blaming-climate-change-hurricane-ian-odds-science-experts-say

One important point to remember when activists cite the rising dollar amounts of damage as evidence that hurricanes are becoming more powerful is that hurricanes have been coming ashore in the Gulf for thousands of years, but it’s only recently that there have been so many structures in their paths for them to destroy.

It’s been pointed out that there were only 600,000 homes in Florida in 1940, and by 2020, there were 10 million. And of course, everyone wants a home right on the beach. You can learn more about why there was so much ocean swell damage from watching HGTV shows like “Beachfront Bargain Hunt” than from watching MSNBC, but then, that’s true of most topics.

To put the cynical divisiveness merchants out of your mind, scroll through the Fox News feed. You’ll find many inspiring stories, showing how Americans from many states, all walks of life and all races are volunteering their time and money, and in some cases even risking their own lives, to help their fellow Americans in time of need. That’s the real America that so many people are trying to convince us doesn’t exist.

I guess Kash Patel needs to go to the J6 committee and the DoJ and testify under oath about his witnessing the declassification. Sounds pretty loosey-goosey to me.
Under thee rules, if Hunter Biden believed that President Obama had thought about declassifying whatever documents Hunter had on his laptop, then Hunter will walk for lack of "intent" to break the law.
Is this really how we want to run the government of a great nation?
Let's not forget that the FBI was told by President Trump's attorneys that ALL the requested documents had been turned over. Were they unaware that their client had them in his desk? Did they ask him?
The D's have plenty of problems, but so do the R's, and we need to confront them all.
