Our Daily Verse...

Breaking news in a week that promises to be full of breaking news: In what surely will be a case of “Be careful what you wish for,” Democrats Jerrold Nadler, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, and Adam “Shifty” Schiff, chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, announced Tuesday night that special counsel Robert Mueller is scheduled to testify in a public hearing on Wednesday, July 17, after being subpoenaed to appear.

Nadler and Schiff said in their statement, “Americans have demanded to hear directly from the special counsel, so they can understand what he and his team examined.”

News flash:  Plenty of Americans are not demanding this at all –-- in fact, they’re more than ready to be done with this and for Mueller to go away (as he is supposed to) –- but it’s obvious why Democrats are salivating at the thought of Mueller testifying.

With gratitude,

List of border crisis deniers

By Mike Huckabee

With Congressional Democrats now attacking Republicans as cruel and unfeeling for not yet passing a humanitarian aid bill for the border crisis that Republicans had been pushing for a month only to have Democrats block it about a dozen times, this is a very handy thing to have at hand.  It’s a by-no-means complete list of politicians, celebrities, “news” figures and even conservatives who insisted that there was no crisis at the border and President Trump was making it all up (or “manufacturing” a crisis.)

The Incredible Shrinking Candidacy

By Mike Huckabee

Another good read from Kurt Schlichter on how President Trump was smart enough not to fall for a trap in launching a military strike on Iran, and why the other tools he has will be more effective without giving his political opponents the opening for attacking him that they thought was within their grasp.

Pelosi slip

By Mike Huckabee

Remember President Trump’s “crazy, unhinged” threat of tariffs against Mexico if it didn’t do something to stop the flood of illegal immigrants across its territory and into the US?  Well, so far, it’s working spectacularly well.

Of course, some people would never admit that, just as they have to be dragged kicking and screaming to admitting that there even is a crisis on the border – and some only admitted that so they could blame Trump for it.  Their professed concern about border security isn't very convincing, though, when their leader made a gaffe (under the Washington definition of "accidentally saying what you really think) by mumbling “what’s the point” of deporting illegal immigrants who are already inside the US?

FYI: The vast majority of illegal immigrants deported by ICE are serious repeat criminals.  If you live in a “sanctuary city” and don’t want them deported, then you are demanding that the federal government let dangerous criminals walk around on the streets where you and your family live.  Lucky for her, Speaker Pelosi can afford to be unconcerned about that since she has armed guards and lives behind security walls.

So I guess what’s she’s really implying is that if you want to be safe from criminal illegal aliens, better follow Nancy Pelosi's lead: carry a gun and build a wall.

Other news you might have missed...

From Our “Investigate Everything!!!” Desk:  The Treasury Department has agreed to Senate Minority (Pray He Stays That Way) Leader Chuck Schumer’s demand for an investigation of why the Trump Administration has postponed replacing the Andrew Jackson $20 bill with a Harriett Tubman $20 until 2028.

The Treasury Department says it’s because it’s taking longer than expected to insure that a new bill is counterfeit-proof.  In this era of computer scans and high-tech printers, the design and creation of a new bill is a complicated process involving a number of factors designed to prevent counterfeiting.  Now, the Treasury will have to add a 10-month audit of employee conduct, followed by a review and writing a report to assure Chuck Schumer that the delay isn’t because they’re a bunch of racists and sexists who want to keep a woman of color from appearing on US currency.  I can’t help wondering if this partisan investigation of the delay will delay the bill’s arrival until 2029.

Incidentally, this stems from the leftist trope that Trump is a racist who doesn’t want to honor Tubman but admires Jackson for famously disrupting the elitist grip on Washington with his populist uprising.  They never have explained why Republicans would prefer Jackson, known as the father of the Democratic Party, to Tubman, a veteran, gun owner (and user) and (while she couldn’t register to vote in that era) someone who obviously would have supported Republican Abe Lincoln over any slavery-defending Democrat of her time.

I’ve been telling you about, the new alternative social media site to Twitter that does not censor conservative speech.  Well, here’s an example of just how much they’re spooking Silicon Valley leftists:

The CEO of Parler says he’s been contacted by Apple, warning that they will remove the free Parler phone app from Apple’s download store if they don’t agree to remove “offensive” content.  He wrote, “We flat out refused and now we cannot push updates. Obviously, by offensive they mean conservative content.”

Remember, the best way to fight leftist big tech censorship is to take your business to sites that don’t censor speech and support them instead.  Make them big while shrinking the leftist totalitarian sites.

Here’s a little good news that will surprise those who believe everyone is corrupt and must be monitored by the government at all times to make us behave properly.

In a $600,000 international experiment, university researchers dropped 17,000 wallets in public places in 40 nations to see if people would try to return them to their rightful owners.

Contrary to economists’ conventional assumptions (“people are selfish”), those who found the wallets were more likely to return them the more money they held.  Forty percent of empty wallets were returned, 51% of wallets with a little money in them were returned, and 72% of wallets containing a lot of money were returned.  Results varied from nation to nation but overall, the more money a “lost” wallet held, the more likely its finder was to return it. It suggests that most people around the world are more honest than they are selfish.

One caveat: two wallets dropped off in government anti-corruption bureaus were never returned. So I guess the conventional assumption about the honesty of government officials still stands.

That 23-year-old, out-of-the-blue-with-no-evidence accusation of rape against President Trump never seemed very solid, but that didn’t prevent some media outlets from trying to make it into a major story.  But the more airtime they give the accuser to promote her book, the more that seems like a bad decision.  Even Anderson Cooper at CNN was struck speechless at what she had to say and bailed out by going straight to a commercial.

As Jim Treacher at PJ Media reports, this is not the first time this particular writer has dabbled in bizarre public comments and behavior.  Bear in mind, she’s an advice columnist.  People ask her for advice.

CHECK THIS!!!! Kamela Harris says she was bused in school. BUT her father was a Stanford professor, so what is the likelihood she was going to a "black school" and was bused to a "white school"? So, was she a "black kid" in a "white school" being bused to a "black school"?

I watched the interview of President Trump on Meet the Press last Wednesday. I watched as the interviewer would ask our president questions & then not let him answer, treating our president with such disrespect. He constantly interrupted President Trump with his own little-minded comments. It made me angry. If I were in President Trump's shoes, I would walk out on that kind of treatment. I'm not a big news watcher because of how our president is treated by the news media. If & when I watch, it'll be Fox News only.
