At a time when we have plenty of reason to be down on social media, it’s wonderful to find a story like this being shared all around on Facebook: Young Marine named Walter makes tremendous impression with his humility and work ethic, walking literally from midnight till dawn to make 20-mile trip to get to first job as trainee with moving company. Walter’s 2003 clunker car had conked out and he couldn’t find a ride, but he wasn’t going to let that keep him from his first day on the job as a “Bellhop.” A police officer found him walking when he was almost to the worksite, took him to breakfast and drove him the rest of the way. He worked a full day after that, just as energetically as everybody else. Jenny Lamey, the woman whose family was moving that day, was so touched by this that she wrote the “moving day” story and posted it on Facebook. I’ll wait while you go and read it.

Rosenstein impeachment update; also, Mueller sinks to investigating Trump's TWEETS

By Mike Huckabee

Reader Philip Crane, after seeing my Thursday commentary about the move in Congress to impeach deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, had this to say:

“Governor...landing a man on Mars this week would be more probable than this action --- it’s not going to work.  He needs to be FIRED by the President, along with all the other conspirators.  They must be tried for treason or sedition...whatever.”

Although the word “treason” should be used judiciously, I agree wholeheartedly on the “Mars” part. Sure enough, the resolution was tabled and, since Congress recesses this Friday, it won’t be taken up for at least five weeks (if then --- a lot can happen in five weeks). For now, Rosenstein isn’t budging from his official perch, as inappropriate and fraught with conflict it might be.

DC: A city of glass houses

By Mike Huckabee

The saying “People who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones” has apparently never made it to Washington, DC, judging by the number of people who dwell in crystal bubbles and keep hurling bricks at other people.

For instance, I’ve been hearing plenty of carping and mockery lately about the lack of progress from North Korea on its promises to President Trump. Ha! See?! They told him so! He foolishly dealt with Kim Jong-Un and got lied to and snookered, just like…well, they did, but let’s not bring that up. Let’s also not bring up that they’re painting Trump as a failure, a rube and an incompetent because it's been a month since that summit meeting and North Korea still hasn't completely dismantled the missile and nuke program they spent over 20 years building under the leadership of Trump’s "smart diplomacy" critics.

More San Francisco problems

By Mike Huckabee

Among the many crises in San Francisco that are directly attributable to loony leftwing governance, add the lack of affordable housing. Leaders like to make excuses, like a lack of developable land, but that’s nonsense. There’s plenty of land for housing, but it would easier to saw through a petrified redwood tree with an eco-friendly hemp drinking straw than to hack through all the government paperwork and “no growth” restrictions that keep anyone from building there.

"Death to America"

By Mike Huckabee

For eight years, Iran’s leaders chanted “Death to America,” threatened the US and Israel, and brutally crushed public uprisings against them, and the Obama Administration responded with looks of measured concern, a sweetheart nuclear deal never approved by the Senate and a literal planeload of cash.

Last week, Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani pulled the same tactics with President Trump, threatening to block the Strait of Hormuz, through which Middle Eastern oil is shipped, if Trump escalates sanctions on Iran, and warning that any US hostility to Iran would result in the “mother of all wars."  And he learned that there is, indeed, a new sheriff in town.  Or more accurately, that there is finally a sheriff in town.  Trump responded to him via Twitter with the following message (the ALL-CAPS are the President’s):

My family and I huge supporters of President Trump. We feel he can do no wrong....except in one small but HUGE way. He uses Twitter, even though they are clearly guilty of shadow banning conservatives. His continued use of twitter as his social platform promotes their ultimate liberal agenda and income stream. My son, Jimmy, told me of a new neutral twitter kind of social platform that is like duck duck go to google. Here is the link below. Can we encourage Trump and his supporters to abandon the Twitter far left leaning social platform for a new neutral platform? We need to start REAL change in this liberal dominated world. Communication without censorship and shadow banning is key! Thank you Mr. Huckabee for your wise, insightful and humorous take on all of the important issues. I pray God will help right all of the wrongs that have happened in our country for far too long.

Read a comment about Sarah Sanders and how she handles the 'haters.' "Don't mess with Sarah Sanders!." Amen and don't mess with her (our) President.
