A GOOD LOOK AT HOW SAVAGELY INTOLERANT DEMOCRATS ARE
The “Party of Tolerance” is giving African-Americans a good look at how savagely intolerant they really are toward anyone who expresses a non-approved thought. If the Republican Party ever treated its black members with such harsh disrespect, the charges of racism would be headline news. And there are two glaring examples that have arrived simultaneously.
First came the story of Democratic Michigan State Rep. Karen Whitsett, who thought she was going to die of COVID-19 until she received the treatment mentioned by President Trump. She quickly recovered and publicly thanked him, saying the drug saved her life. For that, a group called the 13th Congressional District Democratic Party Organization announced that it will meet tomorrow to consider censuring Whitsett.
Now, think for just a moment of all the outrageous things various Democrats (cough-Adam Schiff!-cough!) have done for which they were never censured – but they want to censure her for saying something positive about Trump for recommending a drug that she believed saved her life.
Trump drew attention to that “disgraceful” move and offered a great suggestion to Whitsett: “Should join the Republican Party!”

COURT CASE TO WATCH
A five-year-old girl’s biological father is fighting in the Texas State Supreme Court for his parental rights against the fiance of his late ex-wife, who died in a car crash. Believe it or not, lower courts sided with the non-relative, holding that anyone who claims to have had a parental-like supervisory role in a child’s life has the right to challenge a biological parent for custody. Incidentally, there is no question of the biological father being an unfit parent.
The attorney for the dad says that if they lose, it could set a legal precedent that nannies, live-in boyfriends, roommates or anyone who lives in the same house as a child and has a minimal role in his or her life can sue the parent for custody and get rights and time with your child. This is definitely a case to watch and pray over, and be thankful it’s in Texas and not California.
GREAT READER COMMENT ON TRUMP CRITICS
From Lawrence:
Regarding the second-guessing about whether we should have shut down the whole country that will come (already has in some cases), I learned in Vietnam, and again in Iraq, second-guessing is second nature to some folks. In both wars, we would provide intelligence to commanders that an attack was planned for a certain base and a certain time period. The commanders would then undertake very visible upgrades to their defense, readily observed by the enemy, and if an attack did not come, they would deride the intelligence unit instead of saying that they had deterred the attack by their defensive upgrade efforts. I guarantee, at some point Democrats will say the shut-down was unnecessary, and Trump did it for his own self-gain, and the damage to the economy was Trump's fault.
From the Gov:
Anything they can twist to make the President's choices seem at fault, you know they will. They would never have given him credit for the fabulous economy we had pre-virus, but they’ll hang this on him for sure. It won't even have to make sense. Thanks, Lawrence, for being such an astute observer of human nature and writing in.
SECOND WAVE
This week the head of the CDC warned of a possible second wave of the COVID-19 (Chinese) coronavirus later this year, after the economy reopens. The best way to mitigate that is for Americans to keep observing basic precautions, and to remember, as I pointed out this week, that you cannot avoid ever getting sick by hiding behind closed doors for the rest of your life. That was a lesson that Edgar Allen Poe taught us all the way back in 1842 in “The Masque of the Red Death.” Viruses infect people, and there’s nothing we can do to stop that, including destroying the economy. But we can slow it down, learn everything we can about the virus and how to treat it, and make sure we’re prepared to deal with the cases as they inevitably arise.
PELOSI SKEWERED
The left might own 90% of the media, but there’s no question that Trump supporters have the best messaging. Like this devastating commercial from the Trump campaign, comparing Nancy Pelosi to Marie “Let them eat cake” Antoinette as she enjoys her stockpile of $13-a-pint gourmet ice cream while holding up emergency relief funds to people who have nothing in their fridges.
There’s also this hilarious parody commercial skewering Joe Biden. It was not created by Trump’s campaign but retweeted by him. It’s an altered Allstate commercial that replaces spokesman Dennis Haysbert (who coincidentally played the first black President on “24”) with Barack Obama.
Having no substantive response, Trump critics fell back on their go-to response, claiming the parody ad is racist because all the men on the couch are black. But that’s because all the men on the couch in the Allstate ad it alters are black, and nobody called that ad racist.
Trump got the last laugh because the parody ad got more views in 13 hours than Obama’s video endorsing Biden got in a week. Maybe because the Trump video actually made people laugh, while the Obama video which hailed Joe Biden’s “knowledge and experience, honesty and humility, empathy and grace” and accused Republicans of only wanting power and being supported by "a propaganda network with little regard for the truth" provoked only unintentional laughs.

TERRIFIC ARTICLE
A closer look at two kinds of Americans, two ways to be a human being, and two paths you can choose from: quiet, selfless, heroic and responsible…or resentful, angry and entitled. They were both on stark display in recent news stories. Which would you rather be, or have your children follow?
FEDERAL JUDGE BLOCKS CALIFORNIA GUN LAW
A federal judge in San Diego blocked a California law requiring people to undergo a background check to buy ammunition, calling it “onerous and convoluted” and in violation of the Second Amendment.
Might I add that since people already have to undergo a background check to buy guns, why would they need to do it again and again every time they buy bullets? Unless the California legislature thinks that ammo buyers who don’t own guns plan to throw the bullets at people.

See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
