In a long-overdue turn, billionaire (alleged) pervert Jeffrey Epstein has been indicted for paying off dozens of underaged girls, as young as 14, for sexual services or to recruit other young girls. His private plane was known as the “Lolita Express,” and he had a private island sometimes called "Pedophile Island," where he was rumored to have engaged in similar perverted acts, sometimes with wealthy guests.
Epstein avoided jail 10 years ago by reaching a plea agreement with federal prosecutors in Florida, which was roundly denounced as a sweetheart deal. A judge recently ruled that it violated the law by not informing his victims so that they could oppose it. The new indictment is in New York, and involves alleged victims who are now adults. There could be more charges: prosecutors are seeking more victims, and in a twist that suggests astounding stupidity and hubris, they reportedly found photos of what are believed to be underaged girls when they searched his home.

Of course, it’s a given these days that any negative news story must somehow be hung on President Trump, no matter how tenuous the connection. And so we see the herculean efforts now being made to make us believe Trump and Epstein were close associates.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is also demanding that Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta resign because he was the US Attorney in Miami who oversaw the plea deal that let Epstein off with 13 months in county jail (mostly on work release) instead of federal prison.
The deal was widely blasted at the time, although Acosta maintains that it was appropriate under the circumstances. The media aren’t bothering to tell us that those circumstances were largely dictated by the lenient local Palm Beach County prosecutor, who decided what (and how little) evidence to show to the grand jury.
As Liz Shields at PJ Media notes, there are also very few media outlets reminding us that the head of the FBI at the time the Epstein case was handed off to the local DA was Robert Mueller.
Mueller isn’t the only current icon of the left who looks bad with the reemergence of the Epstein case: New York DA Cyrus (“Slap Paul Manafort in Ricker’s!”) Vance Jr’s office believed Epstein’s lawyers and without even consulting Florida authorities, lowered Epstein’s New York sex offender registry ranking from the highest Level 3 to the lowest Level 1.

Meanwhile, the efforts spin on to try to convince us that Trump was somehow a close pal of Epstein’s, despite no evidence that they were more than nodding acquaintances on the New York social scene, and that the Clintons hardly knew him, even though Epstein claimed to help create the Clinton Foundation and Bill reportedly took 26 trips on the “Lolita Express.”
To be clear: nobody should be accused of guilt by association, and so far, there’s been no evidence that either Trump or Clinton had anything to do with Epstein’s sickening sexual practices. It’s just interesting to see the lengths to which the media will go to sweep the innuendo about Clinton under the rug while blowing up any rumors about Trump into front page news.
Why am I reminded of another story – Russian collusion – where Trump was made the target of accusations and investigations for something that the Clintons actually did? Maybe it’s because both of those fake stories could ultimately be traced back to the same Clinton-connected source. I’ll give you three guesses who that was, and the first two don’t count:

Remember how we were told that President Trump had given up on putting the citizenship question on the 2020 Census after the questionable SCOTUS opinion written by Justice Roberts (basically, “you have the power to do it, but we don’t care for your explanation of why” – which is irrelevant if the executive has the power to do it)? Trump said that was “fake news,” and he was called a lying liar for the umpteenth time. Well, guess what: he hasn’t given up on putting the citizenship question on the 2020 Census.
The details of what the DOJ is planning to do are at the link, along with Nancy Pelosi’s baffling argument against finding out how many people in the US are actually citizens, which would seem to be a pretty basic question for a Census -- particularly if some states are padding their populations with illegal immigrants to get more representation in the House than they deserve at the expense of other states and actual US citizens. Speaker Pelosi seems to be under the delusion that only white people can be citizens. Sad. And frankly, kind of racist.
