I received a thoughtful response to my recent post of a friend’s parody song lyrics about Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (“I’m Just A Wide-Eyed Socialist”), defending socialism and using Finland as an example of a place where socialism works. To show that I do read the comments and appreciate the chance to have a friendly discussion with people who disagree, I thought I would write about the rise in popularity of socialism among American Democrats, particularly young ones.

So, what was so wrong with these FISA applications? Everything!

By Mike Huckabee

“If this is the way the FISA courts are going to behave, if you can take political dirt, open up investigations into political campaigns, this is how a democratic republic falls apart. It’s just unacceptable...If the shoe was on the other foot, you would have protests in the street, cars being blocked, fires in the street, tires being burned, and I guarantee you, all the heads would have rolled already at the FBI and DOJ. You’d have all the major newspapers, all the media saying what a crime this was that this happened.”

So said House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes on the air with FOX News host Laura Ingraham Monday night.  And we all know he’s right.  Just imagine if the intelligence agencies had pulled something like this to sabotage, say, the Obama campaign and it had been discovered.  We would hear about nothing else EVER AGAIN.  (The outrage would be justified, by the way.)  Heads would roll?  Oh, yes, and perhaps literally.  Compared to Democrats’ explosive reaction, that volcano in Hawaii would look like a tealight.

Satirical interview outrages Left

By Mike Huckabee

For years now, liberals have been selectively editing interviews with conservatives to make them look stupid and calling it “satire.”  But when a conservative site did a deliberately obvious shuffling of an interview with socialist “It” girl Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to poke a little fun at her, leftists were so “OUTRAGED,” they not only didn’t think it was funny, one didn’t even recognize it as satire and took to Twitter to expose it as being misleadingly edited. The responses were hilarious.  My favorite: “Thank you, Captain Obvious!”

Things That Make You Go “Hmm…”

By Mike Huckabee

A bunch of “Abolish ICE” radicals in Portland, Oregon, set up a camp/fortress that has clearly-defined borders that they enforce, along with rules people inside have to follow. I think maybe they should go abolish themselves.

Kemp wins

By Mike Huckabee

In Tuesday’s GOP runoff election for Governor in Georgia, Secretary of State Brian Kemp easily defeated Lieutenant Gov. Casey Cagle by 69-30%. It was another victory for a candidate endorsed by President Trump, but Kemp also racked up endorsements from a number of other Republicans, including every other candidate for Governor who lost in the general election.

Despite it being one of the more combative races of the season, Cagle congratulated Kemp, offered his support and urged his supporters to rally around Kemp in November, when he’ll be facing Democrat Stacey Abrams. She’s the first black female major party gubernatorial nominee ever, but she’s also a hardcore liberal. In 2016, Trump carried Georgia by about 5 points over Hillary Clinton, so Georgia Republicans will need to fire up their base and turn out to overcome Democratic enthusiasm and the identity politics vote.

    Re.: "...identity politics vote."

Are you saying that people can get elected for little other reason than because certain groups will vote for someone due to their matching skin color? I'm shocked, I say, shocked!
