"Al Green is a gift from God,” said Trey Gowdy to Ed Henry on Thursday’s THE STORY, “and we should buy him time during the Super Bowl so he just keeps talking.”

Rep. Green filed an impeachment resolution against President Trump two years ago, long before the special counsel investigation was completed and the tepid Mueller report was released. But that didn't matter.  As Trey Gowdy pointed out, 60 Democrats in Congress actually joined with him. Evidence, shmevidence, who needs that? And all these months later, they still have no evidence and still push for impeachment.

But one thing about someone with as big a mouth as Al Green’s: he can be counted on to occasionally and unwittingly spew a little truth, as when he said the President had to be impeached or he'd get re-elected. (He also said a President could be impeached more than once.)  Thank you, Rep. Green, for unthinkingly admitting what Democrats are really up to with this impeachment business. They’ve been working on this nonstop ever since Trump was inaugurated --- even before he was. They know they can’t get this Senate to convict Trump --- especially with ZERO evidence and a ridiculous case based on hearsay and “presumption” --- but they can try to use the issue as a wedge to defeat some Senate Republicans.

Their reasoning, as Gowdy pointed out: if Republicans don’t hold the Senate this next time, Trump will be rendered essentially impotent even if he wins re-election. He won’t be able to get any nominations through, especially Supreme Court nominees. (My belief is that all this has more to do with Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg’s imminent retirement than just about any other factor.) This is the dream that keeps Democrats working overtime to make fools of themselves.

One reason the Democrats have been in such a hurry to get their impeachment vote and call more witnesses in the Senate –- never mind Nancy Pelosi’s pathetic attempt to use the Articles of Impeachment as a bargaining chip –- is that they need a stronger-looking case against Trump before U.S. Attorney Durham comes out with his report. They essentially have NO CASE, while Durham is sure to uncover “very problematic findings” about the counterintelligence probe into Trump’s campaign. That’s what Rep. Mark Meadows had to say in an interview Thursday on Steve Bannon’s WAR ROOM: IMPEACHMENT.

Especially troubling, he said, is what Durham is learning about what the FBI was still doing in January of 2017, after Trump had been elected President. They were still trying to take him down, even though by this time, they knew they had no case against him. I’d call what they were doing to him a hideous bluff, designed to “get” him by going after his associates and also trying to goad him into any action they could call obstruction.

I mentioned yesterday that Attorney General William Barr, who appointed Durham, is focusing on former CIA Director John Brennan’s communications regarding the January 2017 Intelligence Assessment which concluded that Vladimir Putin worked to help elect Trump and damage Hillary Clinton during the 2016 election. Recall that Adm. Mike Rogers, now a cooperating witness for Durham, disagreed with Brennan and then-Director of National Intelligence James Clapper on that point, but that didn’t stop them from writing it up that way in the report. Rogers had also disagreed with them on the reliability of the Steele “dossier,” which Brennan pushed to include in the report.

Meadows called the impeachment debate a matter of both policy and power, with emphasis on the power. He said, “This is all about ‘are we going to let the American people, along with their representatives and the President of the United States, establish foreign policy, or are we going to let the intel and national security apparatus continue to do whatever they’ve done for years, which is not effective?’ That’s the reason why there was such a big pushback with Brennan and Clapper.”

In other words, who gets to run things: the duly-elected President and representatives, or unelected and essentially unaccountable bureaucrats who think they know best? We got a taste of that arrogance during the House impeachment hearings, when State Department bureaucrats put their elitism on display. How dare this "President" Donald Trump go his own way instead of doing what we want him to do in Ukraine!

Here’s the whole Bannon podcast with Rep. Meadows’ interview. It gets going at around the 19-minute point. His message: “Their day is coming, I promise you.”

Something else of interest that Durham surely has seen right in the IG report (though it’s buried in a footnote on page 176): British ex-spy Christopher Steele testified that he was “absolutely flabbergasted” when BuzzFeed published his Trump “dossier” after a staff member for the late Sen. John McCain shared it with them against Steele’s wishes. He’s not named in the report, but McCain staffer David J. Kramer has testified that he invited a BuzzFeed reporter to meet with him at the Washington DC McCain Institute office about this highly imaginative piece of fiction and that the reporter took pictures of it without permission when Kramer left to go to the men’s room.

And how did Kramer get it? The WASHINGTON POST reported last February that after McCain had expressed interest in the (salacious and unverified) dossier, Fusion GPS had delivered it directly to Kramer. Just like that.  Recall that Fusion GPS had been paid by Hillary Clinton’s campaign and the DNC (same thing) by way of the law firm Perkins Coie. According to the IG report, McCain provided then FBI Director James Comey with five separate reports relating to unsubstantiated allegations of Trump/Russia “collusion.”

Isn’t it amazing how much interest and credulity was generated by such a steaming pile of unverifiable hearsay? (I would add that in a way, this is similar to the interest and credulity given to the worthless “hearsay” testimony in Schiff’s impeachment hearings. Anyone who might be able to damage Trump MUST BE BELIEVED.) This all smells so bad, I have to hope that both Barr and Durham are equipped with industrial-size nose clips.

Finally, the refreshingly outspoken attorney Joe diGenova had plenty to say about accountability –- all the way to the top –- in an interview Tuesday on One America News. “There’s no doubt that Brennan was the primogenitor of the entire counterintelligence investigation,” he said. “It was John Brennan who went to James Comey and basically pummeled him into starting a counterintelligence investigation against Trump.” Brennan and Comey led the coup, he continued, adding, “People do not have the beginning of an understanding of the role that John Brennan played in this. He is a monstrously important person and I underscore monstrously important person. He has done more damage to the Central Intelligence Agency. It’s equal to what James Comey has done to the FBI.”

"You have to be an idiot” to think this was not a coup d’etat, he said, which, come to think of it, brings us full circle to the impeachment musings of Rep. Green.

DiGenova: Comey and Brennan 'Are The Coup Leaders' and 'Obama Knew All About This'

Not sure what the whole truth is but I do know something is definitely wrong with the Democratic party politics! I am praying that voters are much smarter. I, as a a youngster, wanted to be a journalist because I thought they were the most (or at least trying to be) honest people in the world...not anymore. We are all human, and as such, fall into temptations and sin. I pray that the truth prevail and this nonsense stops, and soon!!
    Blessings in Christ Jesus,

Gov Huckabee, First, if Whacky Nancy Pelosi and Mad Maxine Waters gave as much attention to the disgusting health problems that exist in both SF and LA, as they are to getting President Trump impeached[ the streets would be free of the crap, needles, etc., that is being left behind by the homeless and drug abusers. Frankly, I would be embarrassed, if I lived in LA, to have such filth for the world to see, when the Olympics come in 2028. The IOC should find a much better place for those Summer Olympics.

Great information. Maybe you already have, but if you want to fill in some of the blanks, listen to George Papadopoulos podcasts. "Punching Back" I just listened to #3. Totally outrageous what was done to this young man! Not to mention, unethical and criminal!
And let's not forget Kevin Clinesmith, the lawyer from OGC. These people must be held accountable.

I keep hearing that the Senate may go Democrat majority this fall, but it seems to me that all representatives in the house are up for reelection. Couldn't it swing Republican?

So where did this all start? This hatred for a man.a business man ?He was not of their kind .
I know that’s where the hatred started out of fear. Fear because he could find and rid the Washington crowd and eliminate “the Swamp”. He’s doing what he promised and more.
Oversimplification I’m certain but it is reality.

The more they talk the better off we are. Trey Gowdy has it right. Thank you for all you do Mr. Huckabee.

Racist Al Green should stick to "singing" (if that is what you call it) lame songs. He is a sorry excuse for an elected official.

I am ready for the impeachment trial to begin so it can be shut down showing that Trump was not guilty of anything worthy of impeachment.

Love your letters governor. Just thought it interesting just as the (perpetual) Christmas break is ending and push was coming to shove on the impeachment, all this breaks out in M E. Their usual tactic. Remember who was trying to do his own negotiations there? As to Ginsberg yes and no. Age and health yes. The no is that the Demonrats have something on some of the SCOTUS members and they will “retire” to be with family. (Let us hope that is how they leave). Not another suicide with self inflicted gun shot but no gun found at scene. The hubris of the dims has begun to catch up to them.

Th more seats the GOP Senate has the better chance grandkids may have a freedom like lifestyle. The Constitution if upheld will allow a Free society. The GOP has to control the 3 Branches for this to occur. America needs time to educate the kids as to what Socialism really is and how close it is to Communism then educate; then educate about the societies that rule with the two systems. As our older population set into the sunset the radical left is going to keep the brainwashing about free education, healthcare, income, housing, and if you have a job no take home pay; why work when everything is free, people can remain 5 years old for their lifetime why do anything if everything is free? Thats your Maxine Watters Pelosi Schumer Harris Sanders Warren Schiff Nadler Swalwel, Booker Omar Talib AOC the whole Dam Dem. /Socialist gang educational signal.

I like Gowdy, I really do. But did he not fall flat on the Benghazi/Clinton/Obama investigation? He talks a good line and then he walks away. He quit, correct? Now he's back, sort of. Go figure.

I think in the impeachment trial, everyone who was bent trying to find a reason to impeach like this Mr. Green and the other 60 committed democrats should be the first witnesses in the trial to lay the foundation and get them on record and tv to the American people as their commitment to impeachment without a cause to begin with. If they lie then we will charge them with perjury. I think they all will be running for a hole like the cockroaches they portray. Maybe I’m being harsh. Accept my apologies. That is just the way I feel.

One reason the Swamp is so "swampy" is because Wastington, DC, is not so much run by bureau-CRATS as by Bureau-TYRANTS. Demo-CRATS, for the most part, have put these critters into posts of TYRANNICAL control, to the deficit of us all. John Brennan is surely KEY, as he is a Muslim, by 'conversion' while in Saudi Arabia, back in the 1990s. This DOES matter. Obama knew it when he appointed JB to that post. Figures of this Bureau-tyrannical sort have tried to control US foreign policy for decades, to our detriment.
Removal of Suleimani from the scene will certainly unsettle the Iranian push for hegemony in the region. "QUDS," by the way, is from the Hebrew, Qadosh, for the Holy House [Temple]. In the Iranian case, it was the "holy warriors" of whom Suleimani was head, at the beck & call of the ayatollah. Since Shi'ite Islam sees this all as "holy war" no one can think that Islam is not at the heart of it. As Boris Johnson (who has studied this matter & is not speaking out of turn!) says,
"Islam is the problem." Muslims in droves are beginning to see that, too. Pray for the hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions, in Iran & elsewhere, who are leaving it for truer pastures...

It is obvious, they want to immobilize Pres Trump and get majority in Senate, so it will not matter who is president. The Democrats will be in control then. A genius strategy, if it works we will not need elections. Democrats will de facto A DICTATOR GROUP IN USA GOVERNMENT

I would love to know if Al Green has accomplished anything other than being a shrill for the desperate Dems. The only time I have ever seen him is when he’s blowing off about President Trump.

Why still two levels of justice...slap on hands for Comey, Brennan, Obama, etc when it's really treason and should be so enforced with extreme prejudice....Yet any other American Citizen can be spied on and prosecuted to the full extent of the law???

I hope these investigations lead to the real culprits. Those behind these stooges. I think the suspects can quickly be narrowed to multi-billionaires.
These power people control the politicians with blackmail or assist in electing those who agree with them. By extension they control the Judiciary. They own the media and only hire those who are in agreement with them. Even conservative media is limited in what they can talk about i.e....Try doing a few shows opposing homosexuality and watch how quick they are reigned in.
Anyway, don't think it is going to happen. Slap a few low level wrists, delay until people forget and move on. It's standard procedure for this corrupt system we live under. But, all of us better not do 1% of what Hillary has done or we will spend the rest of our lives in prison.

Mike, all this interwoven intrigue...behind this impeachment so sick, what AUTHORS the headache I get AFTER I read it is that my brain keeps throbbing "can't compute"...."can't compute"....."can't compute".....BECAUSE I cannot rationalize irrationality which is another word for INSANITY!

People who do not view this impeachment story from GOD'S righteous perspective don't have a clue as to WHY that which AUTHORED this impeachment story is....FROM God's perspective....a graver sin than the sin the Democrats are accusing President Trump of and wanting him impeached for! This statement is proven by the fact that Trey Goedy would CALL Al Green"a gift from God!"

I am a Christian who is willing to lay down my life for my Lord (and, down the road, He might just test me on that if He leads me to take a stand against some "name" people) and I say this to confirm that what I am about to say is being said not because I DON'T love His righteousness, but because I DO....despite the fact that "Christianity Today" would not see it that way....SO HERE GOES....

I would not vote to impeach President Trump....even IF he was proven to be guilty of a Constitutional impeachable sin.....not only because, as I just stated, I view the Democrats' sin against their duly elected President as being a graver sin than the one they are accusing their President view OF the fact that they had decided they were going to impeach him from the day he took office.....but also because by my voting in favor OF impeaching President Trump I would see it as my helping Satan himself win BECAUSE he was the one that birthed the idea IN the minds of the Democrats TO impeach the President before he DID anything to deserve it!!!!!!!!!

Christians who are taking a stand against impeachment are taking a stand against Satan who authored the Democrats' evil heart motive behind this impeachment saga in the same way that he authored their evil heart motive for saying it's OK to kill God's unborn babies and it's also OK to support same sex marriage despite the fact that it is an abominable sin in the eyes of Almighty God!

If the above posture IS being taken by Christians who KNOW God...and is, therefore, OF God....someone should inform "Christianity Today" that their indictment against Christians.INCLUDES God!!!
