I hope the GOP has a plan to counter this

The Biden campaign is reportedly working on lining up an “army” of online “influencers” to convince young people to vote for Biden against their own best interests. This would explain why Biden dodges real journalists while giving interviews to people like “trans” social media star Dylan Mulvaney.

https://www.breitbart.com/2024-election/2023/04/09/report-biden-recruits-army-influencers-2024-race/

As that Breitbart.com article reports, they hope all these “influencers” will turn out the vote for Biden among 18 to 29-year-olds, who “preferred Biden over the former president by a 26-point margin during the last presidential election and preferred Democrats over Republicans by a 28-point margin in the 2022 midterms, according to a Tufts University Tisch College poll.”

Both the far-left politics of young people and the credence they give to wackjobs on TikTok are testaments to just how bad a mistake it was for conservatives to let leftists take over our education system. But in one tiny ray of sunshine in this intellectual darkness, a former undergraduate dean at Stanford has written a book to teach students how to think critically so they can succeed in college.

https://www.thecollegefix.com/stanford-deans-new-book-helps-undergrads-learn-to-think-critically/

I must be getting old because I can remember when college itself was what taught you critical thinking.

Related: Budweiser seems to be waking up to what a yuuuuuge mistake it was to sign flamboyant "trans" activist Dylan Mulvaney to endorse Bud Light. I'm not a drinker, but from what I hear, it was already pretty hard to swallow, and this has just made it worse.

Keep the Newsletter Going: Buy Mike Huckabee’s Book: The Three Cs That Made America Great: Christianity, Capitalism and the Constitution

America faces a war of values that will determine its future and likely decide if it will continue as a great nation on the world stage. Mike Huckabee and Steve Feazel sound a needed alarm to Christians and conservatives to answer the call to action and push back against the forces that desire to move America from its heritage and founding principles. It is time for God's people to take an active role in the political arena, not with violence, but with votes and voices that proclaim and defend the values that made our nation the brightest light of freedom the world has ever known.

An invasion of privacy

First came news that tech people at companies that make robot vacuum cleaners were obtaining and sharing video made in people’s homes. Now, we learn that employees at Tesla were sharing “highly invasive” video and images made by Tesla owners’ car cameras.

https://redstate.com/jeffc/2023/04/09/tesla-accused-of-breaching-customer-privacy-with-secretly-shared-camera-footage-n728896

Wow, whoever imagined it might lead to an invasion of privacy to let big corporations fill our homes and cars with Internet-connected cameras and microphones? I’d say, anybody who lived through the Cold War and ever heard of the Stasi.

For those who don't get that reference, I’d suggest watching this movie before allowing any more spy devices into your life.

No Google Doodle for Easter

I hope you had a safe and blessed Easter. And if you happened to go online yesterday and saw that Google had no special graphics (or “Google Doodle”) at all for Easter, I assume you weren’t surprised. They honor everything from Gay Pride Day to Juneteenth, but not Easter.

https://thelibertydaily.com/woke-google-wont-doodle-on-easter/

Their excuse is that it’s “100% religious,” unlike Christmas, which is also a secular celebration. So Santa’s not in the Bible, but the Easter Bunny is? I suspect the real reason isn’t that Easter is “100% religious,” but that Google knows that any acknowledgement of it, even on a secular level, would remind users of its vitally important Christian origin, and they can’t allow that.

Or maybe as good Democrat lapdogs, Google just didn’t want to remind people of Easter because it would make them think about how, under Biden, eggs are so expensive that some people considered dying potatoes for Easter eggs.

“MAKE AMERICA FREE AGAIN” --- stop the tyranny of the FBI

Now that Trump has announced he’ll run again, some Republicans are re-assessing the slogan, “Make America Great Again.”  (What does it mean?  “Great” in what way?  Was America always great?  When did it stop being great?  On and on.)

Might we suggest an update on this slogan for ‘24:  “MAKE AMERICA FREE AGAIN.”

I say this after months --- years, really --- of seeing story after story about abuses of Americans’ constitutional freedoms by the FBI and ‘Justice’ Department.  This had been going on for a long time but launched into hyperdrive when Trump was running for President in 2016.  If anyone’s to blame, it’s the Obama DOJ, which is still essentially in place now under President Biden.  As the “Twitter Files” have shown, these and other government agencies reached their tentacles into social media to control what we are even able to know.

Trump himself is the perfect vehicle for the campaign, as he personally has been victimized by this corrupt system over and over.  He not only has the strength to stand up to it, but he is “Exhibit A.”  But as we’re increasingly seeing, especially by the treatment of those detained after January 6, these abuses threaten all of us who dare to show up and speak up.  We certainly are not “free” the way freedom was originally envisioned for this country --- far from it.  We need to make America free again.

Just in the past few days, several more stories about the FBI emerged to support this view.  After gradually learning more about the role played by the FBI in the events of January 6, mostly through court filings related to the latest Proud Boys trial, we were pushed over the edge by this one from Matt Margolis, relating to a motion in that case obtained by Julie Kelly.  (Julie literally wrote the book on January 6, called JANUARY 6.)  The motion by an attorney for the Proud Boys, who have been charged with seditious conspiracy, says that the FBI informants who were involved were “vastly outnumbered” by confidential human sources being run by yet another group, called Homeland Security Investigations, and by plain-clothes operatives from other law enforcement agencies.

“The new information is plainly exculpatory,” the motion says.  Undercover agents seen in bodycam footage weren’t just observing but actively encouraging protesters, chanting, “Go, go, go!” “Stop the steal!” and “Whose House?  Our House!”  There are apparently 10 to 12 previously unidentified plain-clothes Metro Police officers in the crowd, bringing the total to at least 50 who had infiltrated the Proud Boys on January 6.

As the motion says, “We still do not know the extent to which the crowd’s First Amendment demonstrations were transformed into violence by undercover law enforcement officers.”  That, my friends, would be entrapment.  A set-up.

There is more.  “Oh, my,” Julie Kelly reported via Twitter.  “DOJ withheld info re: Metro Police involvement until just recently (Proud Boys trial started in DECEMBER) and one officer deleted evidence from his device.”

The court documents are at the link.

https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/matt-margolis/2023/04/10/explosive-revelation-feds-potentially-instigated-in-jan-6-capitol-riot-violence-n1685972

In light of these revelations, we thought it would be fun to hop into the Way-Back Machine and return to June 21, 2021, the day “fact”-checker Mackenzie Sadeghi at USA TODAY wrote a piece headlined “Fact check:  Claims of FBI role in January 6 Capitol attack are false.”  This is the kind of (yes, I’ll say it) “misinformation” we’ve been pelted with ever since the riot.  Note that if you’d wanted to re-tweet this so-called “fact”-check or share it on Facebook, you could knock yourself out, but if you wanted to suggest the FBI had played a role, your content would no doubt be flagged.  It’s certain now that the FBI played a role --- the only question is, how big a role?

Sadeghi wrote, “The narrative started with a June 14 report by conservative website REVOLVER NEWS.  The story says there’s a ‘strong possibility’ the federal government had ‘undercover agents or confidential informants embedded within the so-called militia groups that were seeking to obstruct the Senate certification of the 2020 election results.”  Of course, we now know that REVOLVER was correct --- the government DID have agents and informants there.  We would also question her reference to seeking actual obstruction of the certification, as opposed to simply making their objections clear.

It’s really quite amusing to read this now.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/factcheck/2021/06/25/fact-check-no-evidence-fbi-organized-jan-6-capitol-riot/7753276002/

As you know, this trial of several Proud Boys was suspended last month after it was revealed that one of the witnesses expected to testify was actually a government informant.  If memory serves, the defense had been informed of this shortly before court.  The unnamed female informant had been “in contact via telephone, text messaging and other electronic means, with one or more of the counsel for the defense and at least one defendant” between April 2022 and January 2023.”  That’s right, she had infiltrated the Proud Boys’ defense team.

An informant who did testify said that the group had no plans to breach the Capitol building or engage in violence.  He had told his FBI handler on January 6 that the Proud Boys did not knock down any police barriers.

https://www.theblaze.com/news/proud-boys-fbi-agents-informants-capitol-jan6

Julie Kelly has another new report on January 6, this one about the Secret Service, who last month informed Congress that they had erased “many” text messages from January 5 and 6, 2021, as part of a “device-replacement program,” 11 days AFTER Inspector General Dr. Joseph Cuffari had requested those records as part of their “evaluation of events” on January 6.

It seems the Secret Service pulled a ‘Hillary Clinton,’ destroying records that were supposed to have been preserved.  The Department of Homeland Security and other agencies, including the Secret Service, had been instructed --- by congressional Democrats yet --- to retain all records involving the events of January 6.  Oops.

The communications director for the Secret Service tersely denied any malicious intent, saying this “system migration” had been in the works for three months.  Know what?  That doesn’t matter.  They were supposed to save those communications, period.  And by this time, Biden had been inaugurated, which means this happened on his administration’s watch.

Details in AMERICAN GREATNESS certainly suggest that the OIG’s access to those communications was impeded.  As Kelly reports, “The trove would presumably contain thousands of messages and perhaps hundreds just from January 5 and 6.  But in response to a subpoena by the January 6 select committee, the Secret Service revealed a bombshell:  they could find only ONE TEXT.”   House Democrats are reportedly livid, but they appear to be focusing their rage on (of all people) IG Cuffari (a Trump appointee) and want him gone.  This is a must-read, as it outlines the important questions that likely could have been answered by these deleted messages.

https://amgreatness.com/2022/08/08/the-scandal-of-the-secret-services-deleted-texts/

And there’s more.  The group America First Legal obtained documents that show the FBI gained access to 15 boxes of Trump’s archival records through a “special access request” FROM THE BIDEN WHITE HOUSE on behalf of the DOJ.  It’s not supposed to happen that way.  As AFL explains, “The special access statute authorizes special access requests to an incumbent President ONLY when the records in question are needed for ‘the conduct of current business’ of the White House.  Providing documents to the DOJ for purposes of a criminal investigation is not the ‘current business’ of the White House.”  But it might have created a pretext for the raid of Mar-A-Lago.  More to come on this developing story.

https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2023/04/10/report-joe-bidens-white-house-involved-in-raid-on-donald-trumps-mar-a-lago-residence/

Finally, do you recall the recent report that the FBI, in its zeal to surveil “domestic violent extremists,” had targeted those Catholics who prefer Mass in Latin?  (We’re guessing it’s because of their strong pro-life stance.)  When questioned by Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley, Attorney General Merrick Garland denied this, but we know how much his denial is worth, because, as Robert Spencer at PJ MEDIA reports, the FBI actually has been running informants there, targeting Americans in churches as potential threats simply for being traditional Catholics.  They referred to the churches as “new avenues for [suspicious activity] tripwire and source development.”

“This is nothing short of breathtaking,” he writes about the chillingly bureaucratic content of the FBI’s internal documents, “in its resolute determination to construct a reality other than the one we happen to be living in.

https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/robert-spencer/2023/04/10/confirmed-the-fbi-has-spies-in-catholic-churches-to-hunt-for-domestic-terrorism-n1686051

Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan has addressed this in a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray.  I’m sure Wray will drop everything and get right on it.  Details here...

It seems the spies are everywhere they want to be, from social media to churches to school board meetings, spying on Americans they deem capable of political violence.  As they say, you’re not paranoid if it’s really happening.  Again, as long as this is left unchecked, America is not free.  We have to MAKE AMERICA FREE AGAIN.

In case you missed it: Good Read

Law professor Jonathan Turley on why the judge in the Trump case should grant an immediate change of venue out of Manhattan. But he probably won’t because if he wanted to ensure Trump a fair trial, he would have already either recused himself or thrown out the ridiculous indictment entirely.

Louisville shooting

Monday morning in Louisville, Kentucky, a 25-year-old man who had recently been told he would be terminated from his job at Old National Bank entered the bank and opened fire. Police were on the scene within minutes, but four people were pronounced dead on the scene, and a fifth later died. The police killed the shooter, but three cops were injured, one critically. Officer Nickolas Wilt had just graduated from the police academy on March 31st. He heroically rushed toward the shooter, sustaining a head injury that required brain surgery. He’s in critical condition, and I hope you will pray for his full recovery and for all the victims and their families.

https://www.foxnews.com/us/louisville-police-multiple-casualties-officers-respond-active-aggressor

The shooter live-streamed his atrocity, so he was probably hoping to go out in a blaze of notoriety. That’s why I refuse to give the names of anyone who hopes to achieve fame through killing others, and I’m glad to see that practice is catching on. Greg Gutfeld expressed it just last week, in warning that giving these people the media attention they crave creates copycat shootings.

As expected, Democrats ignored the motivations of the shooter and immediately blamed the gun and the Second Amendment. As this article at Redstate.com argues, you can expect more of that, after it was discovered that the killer was not a MAGA Republican or NRA member but yet another angry leftist with a social media history of posting anti-Trump memes.

The COVID emergency is over

If the sunshine seems a little brighter today, and the birds’ songs a little sweeter, it’s because the COVID-19 “emergency” is finally OVER. Yesterday, President Biden signed a Republican-led bipartisan (at least in the Senate) bill terminating the official national state of emergency that was used as pretext for the government to seize unprecedented power and crush countless Americans’ civil rights.

https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2023/04/10/joe-biden-signs-bill-ending-coronavirus-national-emergency/

Biden opposed the bill but didn’t try to veto it, since it had passed the Senate by 68-23. But he did darkly warn that ending the state of emergency “early” (!) would “create wide-ranging chaos and uncertainty throughout the healthcare system — for states, for hospitals and doctors’ offices, and, most importantly, for tens of millions of Americans.”

That’s odd, I could swear that tens of millions of Americans live in red states like Texas and Florida, where they’ve been going about their business as if the world weren’t ending for a couple of years now, and the only chaos they’re suffering is in their Democrat-run cities, and it’s not because of a virus.

Well, at least we can thank God that the government power grab is finally over, and hopefully begin clawing back that power and resolving to never let this happen again. It’s also a good opportunity to look back in nostalgia to three years ago, when we were actually naïve enough to believe the government when it claimed the lockdowns were just for “two weeks to flatten the curve.” We discovered it was actually three years to flatten us all.

Democrat meltdown

Democrats are having meltdowns over a federal judge in Texas suspending FDA approval of the abortion drug, mifepristone. They’re declaring that it’s stripping women of their freedom, interfering in women’s health care, and noted constitutional scholar AOC declared that President Biden should just ignore the ruling. I would tell her that Presidents don’t have the power to ignore federal court rulings or to enforce laws they like while ignoring those that they don’t, but that’s precisely what this President has done ever since he came into office, so maybe she has a point.

https://pjmedia.com/columns/stephen-kruiser/2023/04/11/the-morning-briefing-aocs-small-brain-big-mouth-syndrome-gets-worse-every-day-n1686004

As to the nonsense that defenders of this drug are protecting women’s health, the ruling wasn’t based on politics but on the fact that the FDA, whose mission is public health safety, not advancing political agendas, ignored its own scientific protocols for approving drugs. Many women who are given this drug, especially now that it’s being mailed out all over in the wake of Roe v. Wade’s overturn, aren’t made fully aware that it can have very serious side effects, and I don’t just mean ending the baby’s life.  In order to get around that, the FDA had to ludicrously classify pregnancy as an “illness.” None of this is science or “women’s health care.” Just like allowing huge “trans” men to compete against women in sports, It’s prioritizing political agendas over women’s health and safety.

Budweiser's Kamikaze mission

Bud Light’s promotion of “trans” activist Dylan Mulvaney has turned out to be the biggest kamikaze mission since World War II. John Rich is the latest high profile country star to distance himself, pulling Bud Light from his popular Nashville bar. But he says it’s not a political decision: he has to listen to his customers (what a novel concept in 2023!), and overnight, Bud Light went from their #1 seller to “cases and cases and cases” of it stacked up with nobody buying it.

https://www.foxnews.com/media/country-music-star-pulls-bud-light-nashville-bar-dylan-mulvaney-partnership-arent-ordering

Rich’s story jibes with what distributors are saying: that they’ve never seen such a plunge in sales for a major product.

https://www.westernjournal.com/bud-light-hit-terrible-news-heartland-rural-america-report/

Budweiser’s VP of marketing, Alissa Heinerscheid, didn’t help when she explained that they went with the trans/woke direction because Bud Light was a brand “in decline,” insulting its core customer base by claiming it represented a “brand of fratty, kind of out of touch humor” and they had to shift the tone to “representation,” “evolution” and being “truly inclusive.”

https://redstate.com/nick-arama/2023/04/10/watch-bud-light-vps-interview-explains-why-they-trainwrecked-the-brand-with-mulvaney-n729183

If “inclusivity” is the goal, I’d say they’ve achieved that. Regular Americans who used to drink Bud Light now wouldn’t touch it with a 10-foot pole, and the woke crowd that wouldn’t touch a non-trendy, non-craft beer with a ten-foot rainstick won’t, either. So they have managed to bring Americans of radically differing views together in not drinking Bud Light. Congrats on that, I guess.

One dissenting voice among conservatives: Stephen Kruiser of PJ Media thinks that Budweiser’s leftward lurch might actually work, but in the same way that the leftward lurch of all the late night talk shows did. The product was in decline, so they’re trying to desperately nail down a smaller niche audience and pander to that instead of appealing to a broad audience.

https://pjmedia.com/vodkapundit/2023/04/10/why-bud-lights-woke-rebranding-will-probably-succeed-n1685885

Personally, I wouldn’t want to own stock in something known as “The Steven Colbert of Beers.” If anything, I imagine the number of trans-supporting leftwing hipsters who would drink Bud Light would be even smaller than the number of people who find Colbert to be funny.
