How we got here with North Korea

September 22, 2017 |

With North Korea threatening the world with nuclear missiles, some concerns are being raised about our ability to intercept all those missiles. If even one gets through, it could be catastrophic with a death toll in the millions, and the most likely American target would be the solidly Democratic West Coast states.

That would not only be tragic but also ironic, because as Mark Thiessen recently reminded us in the Washington Post, Republican Presidents ever since Reagan have been trying to improve and expand missile defense, while every Democrat who got elected immediate set to worth trying to defund and dismantle the effort.

Before you swallow the media narrative that all of our problems with North Korea and rogue nuclear regimes started the second Trump was sworn in, read this for a detailed refresher course on how smug, Ivy League liberal leaders mocked the very idea of missile defense and made sure that we don’t yet have an advanced, reliable system to protect ourselves and our allies.

Also always worth a reminder, as Hillary Clinton makes the talk show rounds to blast the way Trump is handling the North Korean nuclear threat: it was her husband who allowed North Korea to build modern nuclear reactors, for “peaceful energy-generating purposes.” UN inspectors were going to make sure they kept their promise never to build bombs. That deal worked out so well, Obama repeated it in Iran.

We not only need a missile defense system, we need a Democratic President defense system.

Hillary Clinton should just shut up.....her husband and all the subsequent presidents did nothing to stop North Korea, until Trump inherited a regime that wants to use nukes to get what they want!

Thank you for pointing this out. The truth is obscured these days by the liberal media. I have lived through all of this and know it well. With this concise summary I can speak to this issue without the anger that surrounds me regarding our great country and those who wish to take it down.

I remembered about Reagan's Star Wars and it made me feel safer but I didn't know how much it had changed. Thank you for helping me understand the situation better. It is odd how the democrats seem to forget our history and what they have done to put our lives in peril. They blame others for the results of actions that they have taken. It is great to think that people will do what is humane and what is right, but we must always plan for those that are not going to conduct themselves in the manner that we think is moral and right. It is hard for Christians, non Muslims, to understand why Muslims would want to kill us , just like it seems insane that anyone would want to use nuclear weapons in this day and age. Thank you for being that small voice in a crazy world.

Considering the threats from North Korea and IRAN, our top priority for the survival of our nation must be development of a strategy for dealing with an EMP attack.

The obvious weapon of choice for the future will be the EMP Bomb, and the only workable (and Humane solution) will be a Preemptive First strike using a controlled EMP. One Nuclear bomb that is powerful enough to knock out the electronic infrastructure of the enemy, insuring their inability to respond, but also limiting the immediate impact on the human population, must be seriously considered by our Congress and the President.

I am hopeful that you will take a comprehensive look at the latest report from the Congressional EMP commission, and that you will recognize the catastrophic results that are predicted and expected, if Congress does not take immediate action to protect our nation.

Again, Gov. Huckabee, you are right on target without verbiage. Truly, I find you to be the clearest communicator of our time. (Newt is a very close second.).
Your approach is always refreshing to me and gives me hope for another day.
    Thank you, friend.

Lets go back to Pres. Truman, a Democrat, who fired Gen. Douglas MacArthur for wanting to clear Korea of the Communist influence even if he had to go to Manchuria to do it. We wouldn't be where we are now if Truman had let him go. Another LIBERAL mistake. Truman is the one we have to blame, not the latest past Presidents.

Glad someone (with guts) has decided to put the truth out there, for all to read.

If my feeble memory serves me somewhat, I seem to remember that the USA, under then President --- What was his name??------ Oh yeah, ----EISENHOWER~~~he SENT TROOPS TO S. KOREA IN 1952/1953. I keep hearing on the fake news that Afganistan is our longest war. Not even close. Lets see-- 2017 now, 1953 then: My gradeschool math says that would be 64 years. Neither Korea, Viet nam, Afganistan, Iraq, Syria were "declared wars" All of them have been called some other thing--conflicts, weapons of mass destruction de-fusing. love you, Gov. Mike..

Thank you for this grim but honest reminder of how we got here. Wish everyone would read AND BELIEVE it then support our president in his attempt to protect us in whatever way necessary.
