Since many of you reading this likely watch my show, I suppose I need to warn you that according to some recent news articles, you are watching a show hosted by a hateful bigot.  And that was about the nicest things said about me.

I recently spoke at the National Religious Broadcasters meeting in Anaheim, CA and was interviewed by the Christian Post.  They asked me what did I believe was the biggest threat facing our culture.  I replied that it was the abandonment of the Biblical standards of the family.  The view that there is no such thing as maleness or femaleness anymore.  That marriage doesn’t really matter so therefore divorce is no big deal and any form of marriage is equally valid—not just between a male and female.  That fathers aren’t that important to the development of a child.  That gender is fluid and we can just choose a gender based on how we feel rather than how we were created.  And that the Bible is an old book that no longer represents our changing culture and it often fails to be on the “right side of history.”

Since that article, virtually every left-wing publication in the country has blasted me for what they called homophobic and anti-LGBTQ hate.  Most fail to point out that I said virtually NOTHING about LGBTQ anything.  My main point was the reason for so much cultural confusion and moral decadence was the Christian church.  Too many modern churches have decided to preach a gospel that doesn’t offend anyone by basically saying “do whatever you feel good about. “ We have ignored or dismissed Biblical standards so we can be modern, relevant, in-touch, hip, and relatable.  Surely God would never want us to hurt someone’s feelings or disagree with THEIR beliefs.  I certainly don’t think God wants us to be obnoxious, judgmental, hateful, or self-righteous, but without apology I believe God has created a standard and we need to challenge our culture to tune itself to God’s truth rather than to demand God tune Himself to “my truth” and our culture.  Before I can play a piece of music, I must first tune the instrument to the musical standard.  Whether the standard is a tuning fork, a well-tuned piano, or an electronic tuning device, even the most virtuoso musician will only make noise if his/her instrument isn’t tuned to the fixed, absolute notes of the musical scale.

I didn’t make the rules.  If there is indeed a God and I believe there is, then He creates the rules since He created the game.  My job as a human is not to persuade Him to agree to MY behavior or standards, but to change my behavior to HIS standards.  I don’t hate anyone, but I refuse to ignore or deny God’s law or natural law.  If I fail to tune my life to those standards, how can I hope to make music of my life?  When every instrument in the band plays according to its own standard of tuning, the result is chaos and noise.  The instruments are not the same in tone or volume, or sound, but they join together to make music only if they agree on the tuning device.  You are free to live the life you wish to live, but you are not free to tune your life to what YOU feel, believe or think instead of a standard of God and end up with a result that is beautiful.

If that makes me a hateful bigot, then it’s because those who label me that are tuned to a different standard.  With no apology, I’ll do my best to tune my life and beliefs to God’s unchanging standard rather than ask Him to re-write the Bible and tune His standards to me.

Good for you!! I've always said you have a way with words- you know how to get your message across with out being hateful to anyone!!! I think what you said was not only good but very very true!! Our churches are getting away from the real bible-KJV and trying to sweet talk to people -afraid of hurting their feelings. Its time we stood up and reveal the real truth in Gods word- this virus is bad but whats worse is leaving this world without Jesus!!

I feel that your comments are correct. There is a God, and we should try to live by His standards. His standards are pretty clear, if you STUDY the Bible. King David lost a lot by breaking God's standards. And some of Jacob's sons didn't follow the standards, either, and thereby lost blessings that could have been theirs.

I am involved with a group starting up an alternative to Facebook etc. It is called AllSocial. Your articles would be great postings on our platform. If you send me your email address I will forward info to you. We are only in operation for about one month and have over 150,000 users already. Go to to have a look. You probably don't remember me but we sat at the same table at an FRC event in Tucson a few years ago.

Hi Mike - I'm always encouraged by your words. Thank you for standing tall in the fight against the gathering storm of Christian persecution in this country. May the Lord give us all the strength to endure and fight the good fight against it. May the Lord bless your work wherever you go, but especially at Rob McCoy's church.

HI Mike, I am so glad you are standing strong for good Christian values and Biblical teachings
! So many churches are going the wrong direction, when it comes to the Bible. We cannot rewrite it, because it is the Word of God. God has given us an instruction Manuel. I sure wish everyone would read the Bible daily. I believe it would make the world a better place. Keep up the good work!
    Thank you!

God said we would be hated and ridiculed and persecuted. We are blessed to be counted among those who belong to Lord Jesus Christ. You are in our prayers! You would have made a fantastic President of the U.S.!

Keep up the good work. As the Bible says "Do not weary of doing good". It can't be easy but it is important and I for one am happy to have someone share my beliefs without being hateful.

I thank The Lord for men like you who will stand up for Biblical Standards. So many fail to do this crucial thing. One thing I would like to know about you is why you are no longer in the pulpit but I do enjoy your TV program. I wish you well and keep on keeping on. I depend on you.

We agree with you and we are under attack. In our schools. Our school district pays for Flocabulary and is being played to our students. 1-highschool. It has been presented to the district by a few parents that it needs to be removed and we are being rejected by the District. They are fighting hard to keep it in the classroom.

As a senior approaching eighty years of age in September, I deeply appreciate your sense of humor, your faith and your ability to encourage all believers of all ages. You certainly have done a terrific job raising a daughter that is also a strong example to all we believers. Keep on keeping on telling the world the truth, and standing up for it.
As we no longer can trust the media to even come close to telling the public all the facts, and not twisting, omitting facts etc. your program, emails, etc. provide a great source for us. |Thanks so much for living what you believe.

I agree wholeheartedly with your comment on the need to tune ourselves to God's standard. So many in the world are lost because they think they know a better way, but if they did as you recommend and ask God for direction instead of depending on their own wisdom, they would find happiness that lasts.

Your remarks could not be more logical, Mr. Huckabee. Thank you for expressing them. The Bible has always been culturally relevant.

Governor, I heavily agree with you. I'm a Catholic and so I can only speak for the Catholic faith but I noticed that majority of priests preach only on Jesus's Love & Mercy but never the guidelines to how we should live out our lives. Many people think that Jesus is Love & Mercy there for allows them to do anything. I've tried bringing up this with even other priests and have been labeled hateful and alienating. Until the church goes back to preaching truth and not being afraid of offending anybody there will always be the problems we have in the world today. I can't see why any priest or preacher and any faith would rather water down their religion simply to have people in their pews because those people there for aren't there for the real faith.
