DAILY BIBLE VERSE

If my people, who are called by my name,  will humble  themselves and pray and seek my face  and turn  from their wicked ways, then I will hear  from heaven, and I will forgive  their sin and will heal  their land.

2 Chronicles 7:14

Despairing about the elections? Read this

I don’t want to spend a lot of time and space in this newsletter reporting on every twist and turn of each individual state race, even though they do all add up to control of the Senate. But there have been a couple of “October surprise” bomb-throwing attempts at Herschel Walker and Dr. Mehmet Oz that have some Republicans despairing. Bonchie at Redstate.com has a reality check that these Nervous Nellies need to read.

If you are thinking about voting Libertarian read this…

If you’re thinking of voting for Libertarian candidates this November because the Republicans aren’t 100% in alignment with your beliefs, here’s a warning of how that could keep leftists in charge who are diametrically opposed to your beliefs and to the good of America.

Manufacturing activity slows

Monday, the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) reported that in September, US manufacturing activity grew at the slowest rate in 2-1/2 years, falling due to a drop in new orders fueled by higher interest rates to fight inflation.

https://freebeacon.com/latest-news/us-manufacturing-growth-slows-in-latest-sign-of-recession/

So far, companies are dealing with it through hiring freezes and attrition rather than widespread layoffs, but that’s still not good news for people looking for jobs. One financial analyst said, "The good news is that there are welcome signs that prices are stabilizing. The bad news is that consumer demand for a broad swathe of goods continues to shrink, another sign that the economy is feeling the effects of high inflation, rising interest rates, and a broad-based slowdown in activity."

Just remember, as long as we don’t call it a “recession,” it’s not one.

The worst students in 50 years of teaching…

An economics professor at Davidson College in North Carolina wrote an article claiming that current Econ 101 students are the worst he’s seen in 50 years of teaching. Out of 31 students, only 12 showed strong interest in the subject and performed well, while nine made D’s or F’s.

https://www.jamesgmartin.center/2022/10/failing-introductory-economics/

Ironically, according to the admissions office, the grades of incoming students have increased dramatically in recent years, but they seem to know less than previous generations and have lower learning abilities (can you say “grade inflation,” or “Here’s an A+ for self-esteem”?)

The professor identified several problems with these students, including a tendency to skip class if they don’t “feel well” (in one class session, a third of his students were missing), inability to pay attention for 50 whole minutes, no interest in reading or studying outside of class, and a lack of basic math proficiency (or as math is now known, “white supremacy.”) I’ll bet that if a conservative speaker was coming to the campus, they’d find the time and motivation to show up and work hard to shout him down.

I don’t know about you, but this makes me even less inclined to agree to pay for other people’s student loan debt.

Abrams's lawsuit is tossed out

In case you missed it: Last Friday, a federal judge tossed out a lawsuit against the state of Georgia by professional sore loser Stacey Abrams, ruling that the state’s election integrity rules are not unconstitutional and do not amount to attempts at voter suppression. Her claims brought a lot of bad publicity to Georgia and cost it the Major League All-Star Game (a $100 million loss to Atlanta businesses, many black-owned) and other costly business losses.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/judge-rules-against-stacey-abrams-in-voting-rights-lawsuit/ar-AA12u5ex

Abrams continued her habit of telling “Big Lies” by declaring this a victory, for some reason. I assume because it shined a light on the issues she brought forth, but it only shined a light on how baseless her claims are.

Georgians might not be able to get back all the money she cost them with her phony political grandstanding, but they can ensure she doesn’t cost them any more by preventing her from ever becoming Governor.

National Average for a Gallon of Gas Goes Up

Democrats hoping to run for reelection on falling gas prices (which are still over a dollar higher than when Trump left office) will be disappointed to learn that the national average for a gallon of regular has jumped 11.1 cents since last week to $3.80. That’s largely because of big increases in Western states, led of course by California, where gas prices have risen a whopping 55.3 cents per gallon in one week.

https://legalinsurrection.com/2022/10/average-national-gas-prices-up-11-1-cents-thanks-to-the-west-coast-as-california-hits-new-records/

Some areas of California are back to setting new gas price records, like L.A./Long Beach, where regular gas is a pocket-draining $6.46 a gallon. I’ll bet those L.A. Democrats can’t wait until they all own nothing but electric cars that they’re not allowed to plug in because there’s no electricity.

And don’t count on prices coming down anytime soon. Despite President Biden begging OPEC nations to increase oil production, they’re meeting this week to consider the biggest production cut since the pandemic began, to push prices even higher.

https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/chris-queen/2022/10/03/buckle-up-gas-prices-likely-to-rise-even-more-as-opec-discusses-historic-cut-in-production-n1634026

And Biden has already drained our Strategic Petroleum Reserve to a 37-year low to artificially depress gas prices prior to the election. He’ll not only have to refill it at much higher prices, but even that could prove problematic if hurricane season interferes with oil drilling and refining in the Gulf Coast. Luckily, Biden has a strategy: blame the oil companies for price gouging.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/markets/biden-to-oil-industry-dont-raise-prices-due-to-hurricane/ar-AA12m37g

A saner strategy might be to call off his war on domestic oil and gas producers, but that would require someone in this Administration to be sane.

Mike, regarding the national average for gas; it is misleading in that it makes it sound like it’s not so bad. Here in Oregon a gallon of regular at the “cheap” station hit $5.29. Where in the U.S. is gas so low as to counter west coast prices and bring the average that far down?

I read about the "worst students"....I believe it. This comes with the whole "Equity" push and it is showing a negative outcome. I call it the dumbing down of America. Our daughter is a teacher, has been teaching grades 5 or 6 or combination since 1989. Last year was the most challenging. This year, it is an "about face"...well so far! I look at it as hope.

God Blessed the United States I am sure God blessed other places also God gave each place blessings and let his subjects do their best. Our country government is less than 300 hundred years old. We have entered the outer space we have used our resources to make life easier we called people from around the world to make America great and we did. However we had rules to make this work Obama our first multiracial president didn’t like the success Americans had and taught an anti American his vp to bankrupt America and today his teaching has been successful. Today God has viewed this and exposed the anti God that Obama learned thru teaching of an anti god building biden poses as a Religious person but disregards the 10 commandments people of all sorts are to decide to either uphold what God has offered or what Satan is actually doing to God’s idea for me this is not about a D Or R it’s about having 10 commandments or no 10 commandments Today the 10commandments are missing in our cities states and in some general areas people decide how you want to be govern most people enjoy America but this administration wants to change that.

It is as and dangerous to see the left destroying our nation and the church not doing its job. Now we have a crippled military high inflation and oil and military stocks down to almost nothing. Thanks to the potentate and his handlers he has basically done all but write the headstone for our grave. It will take loyal Americans guided and empowered by the Most High to stop this!

Failing Econ 101 makes them prime candidates for becoming politicians.

I have a suggestion for the braintrust that want us all in Electric vehicles before they are viable as an environmental solution. Rather we make that step we should investigate the hybrid as an interim solution. When people find out the lack of range, the lack of charging stations, and the increased strain on the Grid and your family electric bills they will experience real buyers remorse. And to put the icing on the cake, EV's cannot achieve their stated objective because any person with a functioning brain will realize that electricity is produced by fossil fuels making this an exercise in futility.

Just watched the Bobalinski interview and it made me wonder what the difference is between a cartel and the Biden family. It is very obvious that our President (elected by fraud) is as corrupt as it gets. He should be in Guantanamo, not the WH! We know what Hunter is and you can't help wondering how he cannot be locked up. If you rob a bank for a few hundred dollars you serve 25 yrs in jail. He and dad steal billions and they are the first family of the nation. This is the new justice "norm" in our no longer great country.

I am a citizen that lives in a so called remote part of the country I have travel a bit having worked for a major airline during my travel I have seen the great good bad and ugly I believe this administration is showing and Executing the bad and ugly and corrupt part of American society and its government. Take into fact the oil reserves are depleted and this administration is closing down more oil production for future technologies that are not perfectly available in the future and in the time today we have no future even if new technologies become available to produce energy this administration will have destroyed this society before 2024 this country is at a time for last call come November if the country fails to elect conservatives in November tomorrow will never come to a return to greatness
