Fake News Industry News: The Gray Lady had the curtain pulled back before she got her makeup on recently, with the leak of a transcript of the New York Times’ “emergency town hall.”  It appears to show the Times editors openly discussing their anti-Trump bias in terms of pleasing readers, who like it when they attack Trump and get angry if they report too harshly on Democrats like Joe Biden.

Also mentioned in the meeting was the Times’ “1619 project,” which is basically a concerted effort to try to recast the entire history of America from the Founding onward as being rooted in slavery and racism, conveniently promoting the Democrats’ desperate, divisive and disgusting “everyone who disagrees with us is a racist and white supremacist” election tactic.

This is “fake news” on a historic scale, the kind of rewriting of history that as Jeffrey Lord notes at the link, was a specialty of Stalinist Russia.

America was not founded on slavery and racism, it was founded on freedom, individual rights and equality under the law.  Yes, there has been a long struggle to end such abominations as slavery, the KKK and Jim Crow laws, but it wasn't easy for Republicans to force Democrats to give up their treasured institutions.

To those who claim that the Democrats’ inclination to divide Americans by race is now just ancient history, I’d ask this: when President Trump accurately calls out cities run by Democrats for over half a century for having rats, bad schools and crime, and Democrats immediately assume that he must be blaming the black residents, which side is really racist?

President Trump responded to the curtain being pulled back on the Times’ bias on Twitter.  Calling the Times “an evil propaganda machine for the Democrat Party” was one of the nicer things he said.

And this is kind of inside baseball, but it also deserves attention due to all the media people who claim that Trump is somehow subverting democracy by accusing the media of running fake news just because so much of the news they run is fake.

All the details are at the link, but here’s the capsule version:

A Washington Post writer asked a conservative reporter for a quote on a subject she had researched in depth.  When the story appeared in WaPo, the quote was not included, but two words were lifted completely out of context as an excuse to quote a liberal activist calling her a “flat-out racist,” when what she actually said was 100% true and accurate.  When the editor of the blog the conservative writes for contacted the Post to point out the flat-out lie their reporter had run, the Post refused to retract it or apologize, calling it “appropriate.”  A lie that slanders a conservative as a racist?  Yeah, I guess you could say that’s appropriate for the Washington Post.

It might be time for WaPo to change its self-aggrandizing motto, “Democracy dies in darkness,” to something more “appropriate.”  I suggest, “Journalism dies at the Washington Post.”

I recently ran an essay claiming that the Democrats have no positive accomplishments or ideas that the American people accept, so they’re reduced to running on the “Three R’s”: Russia, Racism and Recession.  The “Russia, Russia, Russia” hoax imploded; and they’re cluelessly overplaying their “everyone and everything is racist” narrative, insulting tens of millions of Americans.  That leaves Recession.

Just in case you didn’t believe me when I said they were rooting for a recession, trying to talk down the economy and spook the stock market, and don’t care if you lose your job as long it helps Trump lose his job, here’s a sample of what MSNBC looks like these days (I assume you aren’t watching because who is?)

To be fair, I don’t think Ms. Ruhle is necessarily being pro-recession.  She seems fairly honest and realistic about economics and the business cycle.  The problem is the context: she’s just one part of a relentless drumbeat of talking down the economy, starting from a mindset that promotes the idea that things are worse than they appear. To illustrate, note how the anchor refers to 3.7% unemployment as “a relatively low unemployment rate.”  The last time the jobless rate was that low was in 1969.

In other words, we have the lowest unemployment rate in 50 years or half a century.  Or as MSNBC might call that, a relatively long time.

As Monty Python used to say, “And now for something completely different.”  It’s Google being evil in a way that has nothing to do with politics.  Warning, this is about a subject for adult eyes only: Google’s refusal to remove videos of women being sexually assaulted from their “porn” search results, ensuring that the trauma the women suffered never ends.

I already directed you to the Fox News investigation of how Los Angeles became overrun with homeless people, trash, rats, garbage and diseases like typhus.  Now, check out their investigation of how San Francisco went from being the city of streetcars and Rice-a-Roni to the city of drugs, needles, human feces and homeless people attacking and spitting on citizens.

Spoiler alert #1: Both situations have to do with voting for leftist politicians year after year.  And Spoiler alert #2: The politicians blame capitalism.

I have noticed the increase in criticizing the founding of our country to my dismay. We are destroying ourselves from within... for example the slavery topic. So much emphasis on when slavery began here in America, as if there was no African slavery at all before Europeans. There is rarely any mention of who obtained or enslaved these people. Who sold these people to be shipped and what society profited from the establishment of African slavery. If we are going to look at the past with all this glorious hindsight, then by all means please look at the whole picture. It would be a better use of emotional resources to concentrate on eradicating all the slavery that Still exists globally today.

The way "history" is being distorted today is truly diabolical. The FACTS are not told and purposeful lies are propagated as "truth". This nation was founded by persons who loved God
and wanted to serve Him. The colleges and universities at that time were mostly institutions for the training of preachers and teachers. Freedom OF (not from) religion was a basic essential in the founding of our country. We are told that Satan is the "father of lies - and his PURPOSE is to LIE, KILL and'DESTROY. This is exactly what is happening in this gullible population today. We refuse God's Word - will not use it as a basis for living - and "the FOOL says in his heart 'there is NO God"!! The picture for the future of the USA is NOT pretty if we refuse to get off this path.

Good reporting Gov. Huckabee. Fake news trails your commentary. The headline says, "Rockford, MI, the elderly are being attacked by stalkers so carry a pull security protection. Photo shows a young woman in an underground parking garage or building - non-existent in Rockford. Media uses fake advertisements with photo to carry a pull pendant instead of a push button for security in store parking lots. What's wrong is the elderly and and far too many young women walk on the wrong side of asphalt rural roads and on city streets. They become prey for easy snatch and grab operations or worse. A simple rap on the back of the head and they won't remember nothing or the muggers they never saw. What's worse is elderly men and women coming out of stores and not paying attention to surroundings while walking on sidewalks, in dark parking lots or street side parking. The Rockford story is fake news in excess meant to scare someone enough to buy their new security device for protection. Excessive overuse of phones leads to trouble and criminals might be studying your every move, because of your oblivion. Put those phones in your pocket and pay attention to your surroundings - stop using GPS to go out wrong store doors to find your car - know where you parked that car without it. Use landmarks and signage. Keep your eyes focused on darkness - not bright phones. A snatched phone leaves you disoriented. God gave humans two ears, two nostrils, two eyes and one mouth, but I doubt if He ever expected you to talk constantly.

Regarding the comment on unemployment of 3.7% not having been this low since 1969, maybe it should go further back since at that time we were in a “full war” mode in Vietnam and the Military was employing lots of young men at the time helping the unemployment situation....

Sad on how such a beautiful city San Francisco has become such a dirty drug ridden city and that the politicians can stand there and let this happen and then say let in millions of illegals and we will give them free health care. WHAT? HOW? Many citizens have no health care. Who are these people did they just get off a space ship and taken over ? Those who live on their million dollar estates and let this go on WHY? Is this what we want for the rest of this country? I fell in love with San Fran in the early 60 and now I have no desire to return not like what it has become today. Sad for those homeless also and that they have to be on the streets while we are taking care of thousands coming over our borders. What next?

So much anti-Trump bias and innuendo, insults and snark are now being pushed by Fox News --(since Paul Ryan joined the board). It is getting so difficult to know where to turn for news. Thank you for providing a contrast to all of the school yard behavior of those on the news media's payroll. One Question--Why has no one asked any of these millionaire presidential candidates if they were elected would they follow Trump's lead and donate their paycheck to charity.

I remember the last democrat to "talk the economy down. Prior to the 2006 mid-terms, Hillary went around screeching "This economy is worse than herbert Hoover". It wasn't - unemployment was still around 4.5 %, and inflatiuon was low, but with the lame-stream media as a Greek Chorus, people began to worry. I was not unil the dems took both the house and senate, and Barney Franks and Chris Dodds were allowed to trash the housing market that we realized what Hillary meant. It was not the economy when she started she was talking about, but the economy after the dems got control of both houses of congress that would be worse than Herbert Hoover,

Now, if the yammering is not enough, I expect wealthy liberals (isn't that an oxymoron) including Warren Buffet to start dumping stocks over a period of a week, to try and panic investors.

Stand by to see just how low dems can go.

    One of your paragraphs:
It might be time for WaPo to change its self-aggrandizing motto, “Democracy dies in darkness,” to something more “appropriate.” I suggest, “Journalism dies at the Washington Post.”

More accurately: “Journalism DIED at the Washington Post.”

    and the smell is terrible.

History of America of the 50’s and 60’s and even earlier, the Democrat party is the segregation party. Too bad we have a brain-dead media who only reports Progressive (communist) Democrat agendas without remembering history that is repeating itself calling for segregation of several races of people who do not vote for a Progressive Democrat. How strange?

I don't blame people for escaping California or other Democrat run rat holes. What I really hate is that they move to decent places and vote for the same corrupt policies and their party that destroyed where they came from! How can we wake those people up???

I really do not know how the Democrats canidates can get away with out right lies about what our country was founded on and about so many other things. Do they not know our country's history? Do they think we are stupid? How can the left media get away with so many out right lies too? I am really so tired of it all. I think the left media think we are stupid too. All I can say is I'm praying for our country and our President Trump.

You are correct, the so-called liberal “elite” no longer hides their wishes and intentions. They actually want us “peons” to know what they think is us. Same thing what their intentions are for when they finally obtain power. They wil relegate is underground that way their eyes will not be offended by our sight. Remember the czars, Mussolini, Hitler? They all thought themselves elite. At least now we know how to fight them. They have lies and contempt. We have truth and freedom.

    Dear Mike,
My friend from Atlanta, GA. just phoned me. She was upset at a guest you had on your Saturday night T.V. Show. I understand a guest was talking about a possible recession in our stock market. My friend, Sue, is worried that many people don't understand, that that issue is the new democratic "talking point". They want to scare the American people. If they say it enough, maybe it will come true!!
President Trump knows what he is doing. Let China suffer a little more.
If the democrats would pass the Mexico-Canada-US deal, it would mean more jobs, good for the farmers, etc.
    No Recession in sight.
    Thank you,
