Hamas responds to President Trump

December 7, 2017 |

Hamas is trying to get Palestinians to abandon peace efforts and launch a new uprising against Israel in response to Trump recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.  They’re calling for “opening the gates of Hell” and “three days of rage” (Only three?  They are mellowing.)

I know this is one of the big news stories of the day, but is it really news?  Hamas would try to get Palestinians to abandon the peace process and attack Israel if Trump agreed with Israel, or if Trump blew his nose, or if the sun came up in the east.  Hamas’ statements are often given unearned respect by the media without any reminders that it is officially designated as a terrorist organization, not only by Israel but by the US and the European Union.  It makes phony appeals for peace while setting impossible conditions and continues to attack Israeli civilians.  It would only be news if Hamas did not react by calling for violence against Israel.

In fact, if the Palestinian people really want to show the world that they are ready to enter into serious peace talks and stand alongside other populations in the 21st century, the best way would be to ignore Hamas completely and keep any protests peaceful.  Or better yet, just acknowledge that Israel has the same right as any other nation on Earth to determine its own capital.  That would earn real respect for Palestinian leaders and their people, which is much better than lip service coerced by threat of violence.

It's time the world know and accept that Jerusalem is the main city of; Israel, the land God choose. It can be traced back in history and the Bible!

You have grasped the nature of the horrible Palestinian leadership. Now, what about stopping the money flowing to them from the Mullahs of Iran and others.

I will be very surprised if Abbas is any more receptive than Arafat was. If there’s peace, they have no reason for being.

Got any cancellations on your Holy Land tour, Mike? I guess the only place on Earth more volatile at the moment than Jerusalem would have to be Seoul. Bon Voyage!
