A dangerous situation along the border

November 26, 2018

Sunday afternoon, hundreds of migrants at the San Ysidro Port of Entry on the California/Mexico border tried to cut through the security fence and storm the border to enter America.  They were also throwing “projectiles” (for the non-jargon-speaking audience, that means they were hurling rocks) at Border Patrol officers, who responded to the escalating violence with tear gas and rubber bullets to force them back.  Note that they did not use lethal force, although President Trump said that he had given the go-ahead to allow it if it were necessary for self-defense:

https://www.westernjournal.com/ct/trump-just-gave-green-light-lethal-force-border-migrant-caravan-beware/

Mexican police also helped contain the incident and stated that the 500 or so migrants who tried to violently and illegally storm the US border would be deported.  Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen also condemned those whose “dangerous actions” are “not consistent with peacefully seeking asylum, and said the US will not tolerate this “lawlessness” and will deal harshly with “anyone who destroys federal property, endangers our frontline operators, or violates our sovereignty.”

But of course, those are words, and we live in a world in which many people base their world views on pictures they see in the media.  So the left is using the photos of women and children fleeing from tear gas to bolster their narrative that Border Patrol agents are heartless storm troopers.  They never seem to ask the obvious questions, such as:

Why are those children in that dangerous situation?  Why would their parents encourage them to deliberately provoke armed border agents by trying to tear down a wall and aggressively invade another country in broad daylight?  What would they have the officers do, just stand there and let their skulls be fractured with rocks while doing nothing?  And of course, was this intended to provoke exactly this reaction, so they can use photos of kids being tear gassed as propaganda to influence people who get all their information from Facebook memes?

To state what shouldn’t even be necessary to say: Nobody wants to see anyone tear gassed, least of all children.  That should never have happened, but it’s not the fault of the officers that they had to resort to non-lethal ways to defend themselves and protect our border from violent invaders who deliberately exposed their children to this risk.  It’s as irresponsible as a bank robber observing “Take Your Kids To Work Day.”

This situation is actually very familiar to anyone who’s been to Israel, as I have dozens of times.  Palestinian protesters think nothing of pushing small children to the front of a crowd attacking Israeli soldiers at the security fence in hopes that the soldiers will harm a child while defending themselves, so they can use that to condemn the Israelis.  The Israelis have had a lot of experience at this and are extremely careful to try to avoid harming children, but it shouldn’t be up to them to protect those children.  Their parents should protect them from ever being there in the first place.

Here’s a report on what happened, along with many of those photos.,  You may find them heartbreaking and infuriating, which is perfectly appropriate.  Just remember exactly what you should be infuriated about. If you need a visual clue, don’t miss the photo of the large, sharp-edged rock in the hand of the man who is about to throw it.

One of the problems with stopping these caravans is that even the church does not understand the implications of bringing these people into our county. Many believe that since the Bible says that we are to take care of aliens, foreigners, and refugees, it is therefore our duty to accept everyone who wants to come to our country, legally or illegally.
This month, the November Baptist Mission Mosaic Magazine was featuring refugees who live in Clarkston Georgia which was designated a refugee resettlement area assigned by the United Nations. At our monthly meeting, this brought up the importance of the church’s role in taking care of these refugees, which further created a need for us to support the caravan. It was then suggested that we talk to our city council and mayor about making our city, Corpus Christi, TX, a sanctuary city, and bringing these people to our city so that we can minister to them! I was apparently the only one who did not think that was a good idea.
Maybe you could discuss your position on the church’s role in handling this situation on one of your Saturday night programs. I could use some insight.

EXCELLENT article as always Governor Huckabee. It truly is a dangerous situation and the poor children who are being used as pawns are the innocent ones being extremely victimized by their so called parents. God have mercy on us all, and we pray that He will give us the wisdom, strength, and courage to do what is right. We as a country can not allow these hoodlums to physically and violently force their way into our great country.

I am so weary of the left focusing on anything and everything to defy our government and make our President, our military and conservatives appear to be brutish, uncaring, racist and intolerant. We have how many thousands of homeless veterans in this country! Men and women who served our nation and many who were in military conflicts to protect our freedoms. Why aren't their needs a priority over the illegals? What about the working poor in this country who work 3 and sometimes 4 jobs to just pay for basic needs? Even legal Hispanics oppose the illegals coming in because they will be competing for jobs with legal immigrants and/or getting benefits handed to them for nothing. The battle line needs to be drawn NOW or it will continue. The illegals bring in disease, lack of education, lack of English, lack of skills, often a criminal element. If the immigrants were really seeking a better economic situation, they were offered that in Mexico. America can't take in everyone who wants to come here. Most Americans are just making it, and yet the world thinks all Americans have attained the "American dream". Our media is NOT helping when they tell only a part of the story or make up the story.

It just amazes me on how far the Progressive Democratic Party will go to gain full power America. The increased show of violence, infiltration of the media to enforce their inaccurate view of reporting, their attempts to rewrite history to support their own instructor's one-sided view of academia. Anarchy will be the final nail in the coffin of our democracy and this invasion of immigrants at America's borders, have given these power hungry servants of hate the joy to see their future slaves. What better port of entry, then California, a state already committed to destroying Americans hope for prosperity and freedom. Wake Up America and Stand Strong, Evil has shown its plans and now has it in motion.

Please look into asking immigrants to volunteer for a paid trip to Hawaii ,
Or load them on Military Transport ships and then landing crafts, bound for
The wonderful islands of the Didhonorable Hawaii Senator ,seen often during
the Senate process of vetting Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh Recently.
Unload thousands there on the resorts beaches and perhaps at the elegant Senators Properties as I feel certain they will be willingly welcome there as well as on the lawn of the 9th Circuit Justices ! Please spread the wealth and goodness.

I hate seeing this but the fault falls on those who are breaking the law and those who aid and abet the migrants.

If these people think they have the right to push through whatever we use to stop them from coming into the USA, it's very unnerving to imagine what kind of citizens they would be once they get in. We have enough of our own who act like that when things aren't going their way, and it seems like it's almost too much to stop them. We need to get our own people under control instead of taking on more of the same. I say do what the president says, and totally stop them.

You seem to have some influence in public matters and I'd like to prevail on that. Contact someone in authority as influential as possible and suggest the use of Army's new harmless weapon designed to repel unruly crowds such as the ones at our border. I recently saw, on-line, a very impressive demonstration of this weapon. Look into it.

Whatever you can do is helpful,

Thank you for the information, I know that IT is honest. I am thoroughly disgusted with our politicians acting like spoiled brats, pouting and whining to get whatever they want. It is obvious that they don't care a hoot about what the American people want, or what is best for us. Even worse, how can so many people accept what they say and vote them back into office? Please do not stop sending us the truth, we must be able to trust at least one source of information! God bless you for your effort!

We live in Tucson, AZ -- a mere 60 miles from the US-Mexican border. The local Border Patrol agents are describing a situation that is nearing a powder-keg from violent young caravan males attempting to enter the US by any and all means necessary. These caravan males are NOT families, but seemingly healthy young strong males who, in some cases, are using women and children as shields and diversions. This is not what is being reported by the media. It is now being observed that some of these caravan individuals (both male and female) are obtaining arms -- ostensibly to make either an armed assault on the border or in guerrilla-type incursions on the border.
My questions: 1. Where is the United Nations during this "humanitarian crisis"? 2. With the problems the illegals are causing in Tijuana and throughout Mexico, why isn't the Mexican government doing more to protect its own citizens? 3. Why isn't the US media reporting what is "really happening" rather than making this a political issue? 4. What happens when shots are fired from Mexico into the US at our Border Patrol agents and the US military assigned to protect them?

Howdy Huck, what really gets me is we have laws on the books that state if you harbor/hide and illegal you go to jail and the jail time is in accordance of the crimes committed by those you harbor. Such as if your person you are harboring commits murder you going to serve a life sentence etc.. So why are we not putting sanctuary city elected officials in prison for harboring illegals and for those crimes being committed by them? This is the LAW which means that Governors down should be going to prison along with judges, law enforcement. It seems that there would be most all of the elected officials in CA would be serving life sentences and those in many other states/cities.
Just can't seem to get why Republicans are not demanding this and the people of the USA...
    Sincerely,
    Dennis D - Iowa

It seems to me that maybe we should suggest that Mexico separate the women & children from the men and teenage boys so that they will not be in danger of trying to cross the border and being used as propaganda for the Liberal Fake news media in our country to lie about the true situation!

Close the border UNLESS and UNTIL our LAZY Congress wakes up and funds the wall!! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!! President Trump is doing ALL he can do and (sadly) it's time for our Congress and Senate to do their jobs!! If EITHER side gave a damn, they'd have BORDER WALL FUNDING IN PLACE and MORE man power at the border..
