The Biden economy comes into view

I wonder if some of those “woke” billionaires who worked so hard to tilt the table to make sure Biden won the Presidency are feeling buyer’s remorse yet, as they watch him go on an unprecedented budget-busting, inflation-boosting, government-expanding spending spree that he plans to pay for with ruinous tax increases? At least some billionaires are already starting to speak up.
Like investment guru Warren Buffett, whose company owns a number of large home builders and manufactured housing providers. He warns that they’re already seeing “substantial inflation” due to pandemic shutdowns and all the money printing in Washington, with the costs of housing materials going through the roof.
How much will that cost the average homebuyer? The National Association of Home Builders reports that over the past year, the soaring cost of lumber alone has added nearly $36,000 to the cost of a new single family home. Too bad we don’t have anyone in the White House with any experience as a builder who might know what to do to mitigate that.
By the way, if you figure you’ll just keep renting for a while until inflation goes away, forget it. Biden’s policies are going to make everything more expensive.
Meanwhile, Silicon Valley investment billionaire David Stewart is warning that Biden’s plan for a big increase in the capital gains tax will harm start-up businesses and discourage businesses from taking risks, like expanding and hiring.
That was denied by the head of the Chamber of Progress, an alliance of liberal tech-based companies that are all for “progressive” policies like doubling capital gains taxes. It should be noted that these companies include Uber, Doordash, Grubhub and others that rely on the gig economy that was nearly decimated by the “progressive” California AB-5 bill that Biden wants to take nationwide under the name “The PRO Act.” Some people never learn.
Biden remembers

Sunday, President Biden released a statement praising the “courage and skill” of US Special Forces, on the 10th anniversary of their Pakistan raid that killed 9/11 terrorist leader Osama bin Laden.

I noticed that this didn’t get nearly as much coverage as it deserved, maybe because media outlets feared it might remind viewers that Biden counseled Obama against ordering the raid. It was one of the reasons he was often described as being on the wrong side of every major issue for over 40 years, a record he seems intent on extending throughout his Presidency. For instance, by setting his date for withdrawal from Afghanistan on September 11, he's needlessly handing the Taliban and other terrorist groups a propaganda weapon on a silver platter.
Still, it’s good that Biden is honoring the heroes of the bin Laden raid and marking that anniversary appropriately. In that spirit, let’s also pay homage to two other American heroes with a final salute:
Navy veteran Clayton Schenkelberg, who was believed to be the oldest survivor of the December 7, 1941, attack on Pearl Harbor, died last month in San Diego at 103.
When the Japanese bombs started falling, he was near the end of his shift and planning to go see his girlfriend. Instead, he grabbed a rifle and began firing at low-flying planes. Then he and some other men were directed to move a train loaded with warheads, each containing 550 pounds of explosives, away from the base for safety. He later said, “Sure, I knew I could be killed. But it had to be done.” That is a genuine hero.
And another was Robert Holts, who was laid to rest last month at the Omaha National Cemetery after passing away at 96. He was one of the last three surviving members of the Tuskegee Airmen, the all-black World War II Air Force squadron that, through their bravery and success, helped shoot down stereotypes and segregation in the armed forces.

Least Surprising News of the Day

Chief Executive magazine released its annual list of the best and worst states in which to do business. Texas retained its #1 position as the best, followed by Florida and Tennessee. Aside from Nevada and North Carolina, which has a Democrat Governor, all of the top 10 are solid red states.

The worst states in which to do business were mostly blue states, including all of the bottom ten. Illinois was at #48, New York at #49, and in 50th place, the state that President Biden sees as the role model for America: California.
And yet, according to the Biden Administration revisions to the 2020 Census, 500,000 people were moved out of red states and 2 million to blue states. I wonder why they're suddenly moving in the opposite direction?

If you thought the 2020 election results looked fishy enough to raise a lot of questions, wait until you see the “revisions” that the Biden Census Bureau is making to the 2020 population count that will determine House representation. It’s a miracle: the first time in years that there’s been a mass exodus of people from red states to blue states!
This will make your blood boil

Speaking of vile racist “anti-racist” leftists, if you haven’t seen this video yet, prepare to feel your blood boiling.
A Latino Los Angeles deputy sheriff pulled over a driver for using her cell phone while driving. His body camera recorded her proudly declaring that she’s a teacher, and then calling him a murderer and a Mexican. She rants, “You’re always gonna be a Mexican, you’ll never be white, you know that?”
Fox News national correspondent Bill Melugin identified the driver but didn’t reveal her identity. He did confirm that she has worked as a professor at L.A. area schools and has a history of making false complaints against deputies.
LA County Sheriff Alex Villanueva said we now have people labeling every cop as a murderer because of incidents like Derek Chauvin, but this shows that bigotry and racism come in all colors and ages, adding: "She claims to be a teacher. I'm not so sure where she is teaching...but if she represents her profession, is that an indictment on her profession and the caliber of people?"
No, I’m sure she would argue that you can’t assume all teachers are arrogant, lying bigots just because one is. After all, if you judge an entire group of people by the actions of just one, you can’t call yourself a "progressive," can you? Because that's what racists do.
