22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Galatians 5:22-23

Here’s today’s link to continually-updated bulletins on the war in Israel from Fox News…

The latest: Israel is reportedly considering flooding Hamas’ terrorist tunnels with sea water to flush out the terrorists and their hostages, a proposal that we first mentioned here several weeks ago.

Israel estimates that 137 hostages are still being held in Gaza. A doctor from Israel’s Ministry of Health says it appears Hamas was drugging hostages before releasing them to make them appear on camera to be happy and calm. It seems idiotic that anyone would believe these hostages would be legitimately happy, but that’s actually one of the arguments cited by people dumb enough to support Hamas in the first place.

On that subject, the State Department suspects that the reason Hamas failed to release all the women hostages as they promised is that they’re afraid of what they will say about their time in captivity. This is based on the previously documented cases of unimaginably brutal rape and sexual assault against women by Hamas, and on the condition of the just-released hostages.

A doctor treating them said Hamas hostages were held under barbaric conditions, including being kept for days in solitary confinement and total darkness until they began hallucinating. They were separated from their families, beaten, starved, sexually assaulted, forced to take drugs and children were forced to watch horrific videos of the slaughter. She said, “The mental states we encountered have no precedent in medical literature. We feel that we have to rewrite the textbooks of post-trauma.”

When you see American “progressives” protesting in the streets against Israel and for Hamas, remember that this is what they’re supporting.

Since I was just speaking above about useful idiots (useful to Hamas, useless to the rest of the world), alleged “progressive” Rep. Pramila Jayapal of Washington is being lambasted even by some fellow Democrats for downplaying the brutal sexual violence against Israeli women and girls, and trying to turn the conversation back to moral equivalencies and condemning Israel. Some commentators also wondered why many liberal feminist organizations are being so uncharacteristically quiet about this barbaric sexual violence aimed at women.

But it’s good to see that at least some prominent liberal women are speaking out against Hamas’ atrocities against women.

This needs to be investigated

I’ll reserve judgement on this story about a UN-employed teacher in Gaza allegedly holding an Israeli hostage for Hamas, keeping him locked in an attic for 50 days and barely giving him food or medical attention. It’s still unsubstantiated, but I join Sen. Marsha Blackburn in demanding an investigation into it, and other claims that Gaza civilians helped the terrorists by keeping hostages in their homes.

If it is substantiated, it will accomplish the impossible by giving me an even lower opinion of the UN than I already have.

“We’re From the Government, And We’re Here to Help”

First, the government ran up the national debt passing trillion-dollar spending bills. That reckless deficit spending supercharged inflation, making your paycheck worth far less. To bring down inflation, the Fed kept jacking up interest rates, making the credit cards you had to live on even more expensive to use. And now, with many Americans barely scraping by, the IRS announced that if gig workers and independent contractors underestimate the tax they owe, the interest penalty they’ll be charged is rising from 3% to 8%.

They have to do this, you see, because of the high interest rates. So if you don’t have enough money to pay all your taxes and are charged high interest for not sending enough of the money you don’t have to the IRS, don’t blame the IRS. After all, it’s not as if the government had any control over any of this…

Friday, a Trump-appointed federal judge struck down the Biden Administration’s attempt to ban handgun sales to adults age 18 to 20 as “facially unconstitutional.”

You’d think it would be clear to anyone with a functioning brain that if the Second Amendment protects the right of all law-abiding adult citizens to own firearms, that would apply to anyone over 18. That’s generally considered the age of legal adulthood, when you can get married, sign contracts and even join the military and shoot people.

Even more jaw-dropping was the government’s argument in support of the ban: It claimed that the two plaintiffs weren’t really injured because they are only banned from “purchasing” guns, not “possessing” them; and with the infantilization of adults that the left has made a trademark, they claimed that the defendants could just get their parents to buy guns for them.

Or they could do like so many 15-year-olds do in Democrat-run cities with strict gun control laws, and just buy illegal guns.

Biden continues to push, despite the facts

President Biden continues his push to force car makers to convert to electric vehicles, as they panic and frantically cut production due to consumers refusing to buy them, costing the makers billions. And it seems as if each new day brings another news story to confirm that buyer reluctance. Since we took Sunday off, here are two more…

Biden’s White House just added a new rule ostensibly designed to encourage buying American-made EVs but that will make already overpriced EVs even less affordable. It may be harder to find one that qualifies for the $7500 tax credit (and you know what they say about products that the government has to pay you to buy)…

Also, a new Consumer Reports survey of owners of 330,000 cars found that EVs have almost 80% more problems than gas-powered cars. And these aren’t older tech but 2021-2023 models.

Interestingly, the least reliable vehicles are plug-in hybrids, which have 146% more problems than gas-powered cars, while the most reliable are non-plug-in hybrids, which have 26% fewer problems than traditional ICE cars. Coincidentally, these seem to be the cars that consumers want most. Why, it’s almost as if the market (millions of individual car shoppers who have done due diligence before spending their money) knows more about what car makers should be building than a bunch of eco-fanatics in Washington do. Go figure.

Kudos to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott for continuing to do the job that Joe Biden ran for but apparently has no interest in actually doing.

Sit down before you read this:

Todd Starnes on how even in a small Texas town, politicians are siding with LGBTQ activists and drag queens over local churches when it comes to what’s allowed in the Christmas parade. Yes, I said “Christmas.” And “Texas.”

Good work

Amid all the rampant, unfettered theft that’s driving small business owners into bankruptcy in criminal-coddling blue cities, it’s nice to see a feel-good story like this…

Musical Christmas Gift For You

Our writer Laura Ainsworth moonlights as an award-winning retro jazz singer who loves to breathe new life into forgotten old songs. Last year, she recorded “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” with the original lyric sung by Judy Garland in “Meet Me In St. Louis.” This year, Laura offers us something even more obscure: an alternate take of the same song, only with the very first lyrics that Judy rejected because she thought they were too sad. The composers argued for them to no avail. See what you think of these rarely-heard lyrics to this great holiday standard. Please like, share and comment…

…And compare it to her take on the lyrics used in the movie…

The latter is also available at all streaming and download sites, and you can find links to all of Laura’s albums, social media and more at

Stay tuned:  Judge orders FBI to turn over Seth Rich’s laptops

Getting results from a Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA) request can feel as futile as trying to watch paint dry in a rainstorm, but for attorney Ty Clevenger and his client Brian Huddleston, their patience seems finally to be paying off.

U.S. District Judge Amos Mazzant of the Eastern District of Texas ruled Tuesday that the FBI had 14 days to turn over a timeline for the disclosure of information on murdered DNC staffer Seth Rich’s personal laptop, Rich’s work laptop, the DVD and tape drive.  As you know, Rich was shot twice on a DC street in the summer of 2016, ostensibly the casualty of a botched robbery in the wee hours of the morning, during which nothing belonging to Rich was taken.

The judge himself might be running out of patience.  He ordered the FBI and DOJ in September 2022 to hand over all the information they had that was related to Rich’s death, rejecting the argument that withholding it was in the interest of the parents’ privacy.

Recall that when Huddleston first filed his FOIA request in 2017 (!), the FBI quickly responded that they were “unable to locate any responsive main files” in connection to Rich.  But later it was determined that they had over 20,000 pages of such materials.  According to one report, there were 1,596 pages that related directly to the murder of Seth Rich.

Let’s see what the FBI and DOJ do next.  How much longer can they continue to ignore the order?  Can they appeal?  And the big question:  Why have they resisted divulging the details of this particular unsolved murder for so long, in an increasingly violent city where deadly robberies take place all the time?  Unless, of course, there was more to it than that…

Hunter Biden was sending his dad monthly payments from “Chinese money” accounts

Good grief, how bad does it have to get?  By now, you’ve probably heard about the update from House Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer of Kentucky, who has taken the incriminating findings against Joe Biden and his family even further.  This information comes straight from subpoenaed bank records, which as we’ve said form the backbone of the Biden impeachment inquiry.  They really are indisputable.

Bank records show that Joe Biden received $1,380 each month from Owasco PC, one of Hunter’s entities associated with his Chinese business activities.  The easiest way for you to familiarize yourself with this new development is to watch Comer’s video, here.  It’s as clear as it can be...

Comer also appeared on HANNITY Monday night to explain at greater length why this money was not just a “loan repayment” as the White House maintains (while refusing to provide documentation).  The White House does not dispute that the money came from China.  A must-watch.

On Friday, several GOP members of Congress told the DAILY CALLER that they were planning to hold a floor vote on whether or not to go ahead with an impeachment of President Biden.  But Comer indicated that day that he was not currently “whipping” a floor vote on that.  The impeachment INQUIRY, he explained, is an investigation being handled by his committee.  Actual impeachment would be handled by the Judiciary Committee, chaired by Jim Jordan.

Some view a Biden impeachment as a colossal waste of time, as conviction and removal by the Democrat-controlled Senate is a major long-shot.  (And NOBODY wants a President Harris.)  But the corruption being exposed is so bad, and President Biden has lied about it for so long, that Congress is almost duty-bound to impeach him.  Not doing it just seems...wrong.  And impeachment would at least get the story out there, whether Biden is convicted or not.

Democrats probably see the writing on the wall and are preparing themselves.  The DAILY CALLER “found” a memo from House Oversight Committee Democrats in a Capitol building hallway that warns, “House Republicans have collected an extraordinary amount of evidence in their investigation of Hunter Biden’s business activities.  And this evidence comes on top of evidence collected by Senate Republicans who conducted their own investigation of Hunter Biden in 2020.”

RELATED:  More is percolating.  As Jim Jordan mentioned on Monday, IRS whistleblowers Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler testify again today before the House Ways and Means Committee.  We assume that’s behind closed doors, as it apparently deals with confidential tax matters.

Please stop referring to what Pres Biden says. I’m sure you’ve heard the saying “the President gets more blame than he deserves and he gets more credit than he deserves” Well in this case President Joe Biden doesn’t deserve ANY blame or credit because it’s obvious that he only says what he’s told to say… well occasionally something slips out l guess, but otherwise everything is scripted for him. Also while l’m glad to see that the investigation into the Biden family’s business dealings is finally gaining some traction, l also believe that no matter what the lapdog media can no longer ignore they will still be infected with TDS. And while we’re talking about acronyms how about a new one, YBT (yeah but Trump) is sure to offset and possibly overshadow any Biden news that they might have to report.

    Or steal them.
