1 Chronicles 16:34
Get ready for another great new episode of “Huckabee,” tonight on TBN! I’ll talk with Texas Rep. Pat Fallon about the politicized FBI and other issues. Pollster John McLaughlin will have an update on the midterm elections, just 10 days away. You’ll meet an inspiring Huck’s Hero, and a champion swimmer who’s bravely standing up to the woke mob to save women’s sports and stop the mutilation of children. You’ll also be astounded by the magic of John Michael Hinton, and moved by rising Christian music star Cade Thompson.
It all gets rolling tonight at 8 and 11 EST, 7 and 10 CST, and Sunday at 9 EST/8 CST on TBN. New Covid report shakes up the MSM/Big Tech narrative
I told you yesterday about the interim report by Senate Republicans finding that COVID 19 most likely did originate in a Wuhan, China, viral lab. While there are still too many missing pieces of evidence to make a definitive ruling (and China is determined to keep them missing), the report makes the case that what we do know pretty well rules out the idea of it arising naturally among animals and spreading to humans.
Thanks to Ed Driscoll and Prof. Glenn Reynolds at the Instapundit blog for compiling more on this story about the possible lab origins of COVID that once got you banned from Twitter just for talking about it (and now, here we are talking about how it’s likely true, while Twitter’s chief censor is newly unemployed. Who says things aren’t improving?)
One of the more interesting points discussed is how Chinese scientists were able to create a vaccine on a timeline that seems impossibly fast unless they started developing it before the first case was even announced.
Paul Pelosi Attack Update
We’ve learned a little more about the man who broke into Nancy Pelosi’s home in San Francisco when she wasn’t there and attacked her husband Paul with a hammer. But only a little, and so far, none of it makes much sense, including Pelosi’s call to the police.
It was reported that the man came there looking for Nancy Pelosi, so prominent Democrats immediately declared him one of those violent rightwing extremists they’re always fantasizing about, riled up by a speech that Trump gave nearly two years ago. But there is, to say the least, conflicting evidence. It’s also been reported that he was arrested in his underwear, and that he’s a hemp jewelry-making nudist protester who lives in a commune in Berkeley that’s covered with leftwing signs supporting everything from BLM to Bernie Sanders. I know the GOP is a big tent, but that doesn't sound like a Republican to me.
Between that and the underwear thing, it sounds as if he might just be a nut. But I’m not a professional journalist, so I think I’ll wait until I have some facts before I make any definitive statements.
Twitter reactions and overreactions
Leftists are still screeching like long-tailed cats in a roomful of rocking chairs over Elon Musk buying Twitter, firing the leftwing censors and reinstating banned conservatives and freedom of speech. They’re so hysterical, it’s hysterical. There are comparisons to the rise of Nazi Germany and the opening of “the gates of Hell” all because just one social media site might actually let users exercise free speech.
Some woke corporations are threatening an ad boycott if former President Trump is allowed to rejoin Twitter, which he doesn’t even seem interested in doing.
Some leftist celebrities are threatening to quit Twitter if people they disagree with are allowed to talk. But they’re doing it on Twitter, so I would take that as seriously as I took their threats to move to Canada if Trump won. Also, I considered those to be threats to Canada.
One of the funnier tweets was from Democrat lawyer and scourge of election integrity laws Mark Elias, who tweeted, “I am here until he kicks me off. #resist.” That got him roundly mocked by conservatives, who pointed out that the whole idea of free speech is that he WON’T be kicked off. But people like Mark Elias might be ticked off because people who recognize what a dangerous gasbag he is will now be free to say so. He’s more than welcome to stay, he just might not like it when conservatives have rights, too.
One Twitter employee gave us a great example of spoiled leftist privilege by using Twitter to insult her new boss. Apparently she never had a job where there's such a thing as a firing offense.
Some media commentators are melting down over the danger to democracy if all Americans are allowed to have free speech. Why, it’s almost as dangerous to democracy as letting the voters choose who they want to represent them instead of letting rich leftwing elitists do it.
To paraphrase “The Princess Bride,” they keep using that word “democracy,” but I do not think it means what they think it means.
Related: The media were so anxious to find stories about poor, fired Twitter leftists to make Elon Musk look bad that they didn’t bother to do any basic fact-checking when a couple of practical jokers trolled them with a hilarious prank.
My question: Why are they so sympathetic to the plight of some six-figure leftist social media censors who might lose their jobs for refusing to respect free speech when they had zero sympathy for health care workers, first responders and military members who lost their jobs for refusing to comply with Biden’s vaccine mandate?
Democrat aide fired over Chinese connections
Barbara Hamlett, an aide to Virginia Democratic Rep. Don Beyer, has been fired after an investigation determined that she’d been working on behalf of the Chinese Embassy to set up meetings with Congressional officials.
There’s nothing in this story to suggest she’ll be charged with any crimes. If Hunter Biden isn’t, why should she?
I JUST WANTED TO SAY:
