From Joseph T:

This has nothing to do directly with your column, but I was so irritated at this I had to write. Yesterday I saw a picture of a fool of a gray-haired, worn-out representative from Tennessee eating chicken in a hearing room that I believe to be in the Capitol building. He was trying, somehow, to disgrace AG Barr, I guess, but as far as I am concerned he only disgraced himself, his office, the Democrat party and the halls of the Capitol building.

Now, I know there are places designated for eating in that building, but where he was eating wasn't one of them. Then he had the audacity to hold up a statue of a chicken and call Barr a chicken. The representative from Tennessee...not only disgraced himself, but also his constituents of that wonderful state. He should be ashamed. I am ashamed of him.

I am not from Tennessee, but if I were, I would do all in my power to make sure this was his last term. I would do all I could to get everyone to vote against him. Cheap, theatrical, pompous foolish behavior from what is supposed to be an adult.

From the Gov:

I’m not sure that at this point it’s even possible to disgrace the Democrat party, in that it’s already about as disgraced as it can be. “True to form” is what I would call this juvenile stunt, which was carried out by the eminent REP. STEVE COHEN (mental age 4 ½) of Tennessee.

The irony here is that AG Bill Barr is probably the person who is LEAST afraid by these proceedings. He is so far ahead of those jokers in the hearing room, it’s entertaining to see the almost-undetectable flicker of amusement appear once in a while on his otherwise poker face. He is the epitome of self-assuredness and poise. It’s really the Democrats who are scared out of their ever-lovin’ minds because of what they know is going to come out, and they’re projecting their own fear onto Barr. It’s why they resort to childish stunts such as this one.

I ran your letter past Miss Mannerly, and she agrees with you that the “chicken” bit laid a big egg. She also said it’s extremely rude to eat chicken in the hearing room unless one brings enough for everybody.

Thanks for writing! I agree 100 percent.

I agree with the comments from both you and the writer. However, I'm a bit concerned about Rep. Cohen. Noticed him the day before Ag Barr was scheduled to appear. It may be just his glasses; but his eyes appeared red and watery, and he just didn't look at all well. Be that as it may, I don't think AG Barr is shaking in his boots from Cohen's antics. I seriously doubt the great chicken destruction even showed on William Barr's radar. It's pretty sad when an "insult" bounces of a target. May be Rep. Cohen should see a doctor. His appearance was pretty disheveled. He also needs to learn how to properly eat fried chicken. His mother must be so very disappointed.

You just have to shake your head at the absolute childish stupidity of people who are supposed to be intelligent and mature enough to sit in Congress. Two things I found amusing this week. One was a story about a young boy giving lunch to 2 cops--and one cop treated kids in his school--with Chick-fil-A!!! The actions of the boy and cops were heartwarming, but I did find it amusing about serving Chick-fil-A. The other was a fellow who was at a fast food eatery and bought a meal for 2 soldiers--then 9 more walked in and he bought their meals, too!! The fast food eatery?? Chick-fil-A!!!

This reader said it better then I could have, but I was thinking the very same thing. TN is a wonderful state, with wonderful people. I sure hope they see this fool for what he is.

Nadler did an even better job of disgracing himself when he cut the microphone of the Republicans at the end of the hearing. Was he really that fearful of what they would say that he could not let them speak?

I watched Wednesday as they grilled AG Barr like he was a terrorist. They slandered AG Barr, Pres. Trump, and his team up one side and down the other. And again Thursday with more garbage. Trying to GOAD AG Barr into doing something stupid; which should be illegal. Mueller report said 'no collusion. Pres. Trump did nothing wrong. But they're saying he's guilty(not because he did anything wrong)just because "THEY" say he's guilty. Seems to me this would be miscarriage of justice.

Totally agree, this is one of the most despicable acts of childish, sick behavior I have seen, and that is saying a lot considering the Democrats and Hollywood are committing them everyday! So much so,it is hilarious, because it is not hurting our Awesome AG,or Our Amazing President Trump ,but because it is confirming what we already know! That the Democrats are really delusional, sick, asinine ,laughable anti Americans! This guy is an embarrassment to the ppl of TN,Our Country, and his Family!!And the joke is on him and the Democrats. Our President and AG are doing just fine and they will come out much better because of this ridiculous childish act!!

Such disgusting behavior does not belong in what should be a mature discussion! If that’s the only way he was able to present his point of view, he should have done so during lunch in a cafeteria or break room! His behavior was very undignified & immature to say the least!!

I really enjoy your page Governor and I don’t often respond. However, I totally agree with your reader response to “chicken man” Rep Cohen. I am a resident of Tennessee and I am highly insulted by his childish behavior. Be assured that I will work relentlessly to make sure he is never elected in the future. I strongly believe he should be censored.
