I find it hilarious to watch President Trump troll his opponents because they never seem to realize how he baited the hook for them, and they chomp down on it every time.

Latest case in point was his suggestion that he might load up buses with illegal migrants and drop them off in “sanctuary cities.” After all, the border facilities are overflowing, largely because word is out that if you make to America, you can go to a liberal sanctuary city and be shielded from the law and federal deportation facilities. And since the liberals who promote those policies love to climb on their high horses and lecture the rest of us about all the positive things that illegal immigrants contribute to their communities, then they should be more than happy to take all Trump wants to send.

“Huckabee" preview

By Mike Huckabee

Tonight’s new episode of “Huckabee” on TBN is full of surprises, and I don’t want to paint too clear a picture (that’s a hint) and give the biggest one away.  So let me just assure you that it’s jam-packed with common sense commentary, topical humor on the week’s craziest news “In Case You Missed It,” and a star-studded lineup of guests.  I’ll welcome Bill O’Reilly…Christopher Scalia to talk about the new book of writings on faith and freedom by his late father, Justice Antonin Scalia…the viral sensations, The Singing Contractors…and from “Duck Dynasty,” Phil Robertson.  And I still haven’t given away the biggest surprise of all.

To see that unveiled, tune in tonight at 8 or 11 EST, 7 and 10 CST, repeated at the same times on Sunday, only on TBN. To find your local TBN channel and stream previous episodes online, visit https://www.tbn.org/programs/huckabee

Very interesting article

By Mike Huckabee

Very interesting article for the dwindling number of Democrats who care about whether a Republican who is being viciously attacked actually did whatever he or she is accused of.  We’ve already heard that gay South Bend, Indiana, Mayor-with-pretensions-to-the-Presidency Pete Buttigieg launched an unprovoked attack on Vice President Mike Pence for his alleged hatefulness about Buttigieg's homosexuality.  Then we learned that Pence had never said anything negative about Buttigieg; and in fact, had only been publicly supportive and gracious to him.

Well, that doesn’t matter because we all know that Pence is rabidly anti-gay and even supports gay conversion therapy, right?  Uh…no.  We’ve been that told repeatedly by prominent liberals who hate Pence for being a conservative and a devout Christian.  But is there any evidence to back up those accusations?  Journalist Karol Markowitz went digging for it.  You can guess what she turned up from the title of her piece:  “Mike Pence’s Nonexistent Homophobia.”

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/op-eds/mike-pences-nonexistent-homophobia

Personally, I suspect they’re just resentful of Pence because they mercilessly mocked him for refusing to meet with women other than his wife in private, and then looked like fools when half the liberals they work with in politics and media got brought down by the MeToo movement for sexually assaulting women when they were meeting in private.

"Drama/Propaganda"

By Mike Huckabee

Those pesky, totally nonpartisan Internet algorithms!  What mischief will they think up next?

On Google, people searching for the new movie “Unplanned” were surprised to see that it had been officially classified as “Drama/Propaganda.”  A few searches revealed that Michael Moore movies that offer a one-sided, far-left interpretation of what George W. Bush, Donald Trump or the NRA think were classified as “Documentaries.”  But a movie about what happens inside a Planned Parenthood abortion clinic, as told by a woman who managed one for eight years and was named PP’s “Employee of the Year,” is “Propaganda.”

https://www.foxnews.com/tech/google-slammed-labeling-pro-life-film-unplanned-propaganda

After getting complaints, Google removed the “propaganda” label and offered an explanation that, naturally, had nothing to do with the particular viewpoint expressed in the film -- just as the tech snafus on Twitter that blocked the film’s account and erased its followers were also purely random algorithmic bugaboos.

You know, that would be easier to swallow if those random glitches ever negatively impacted anyone or anything on the left.  But currently, the rate at which they impact conservative messages looks about as random as flipping a coin 5,000 times and each time having it land on its edge.

"Spying"

By Mike Huckabee

This is an excellent article by Patricia McCarthy at AmericanThinker.com on how the Democrats have been reduced to railing madly against things that have already been proven indisputably true, such as that people in the Obama intelligence agencies spied on members of Trump’s campaign.  Extra points to her for using one of my favorite references from “Casablanca”: “I’m shocked to discover there’s gambling at Rick’s!” (“Your winnings, sir.”)

https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2019/04/democrats_railings_about_barr_and_spying_are_going_to_end_badly_for_them.html

All the over-the-top melodramatics about Attorney General Barr using the simple, accurate term “spying” (which his Democratic questioner actually said first) have included suggestions that what he should have said was “intelligence gathering” or “inappropriate surveillance” (in other words: “spying.”)  I wondered why that struck me so funny, and then I realized: it’s straight out of one of the late George Carlin’s greatest comedy routines.

Back in the days when comedians were funny, Carlin loved examining how people manipulate language.  One of his premises was that people take simple, direct, bluntly accurate terms and expand and soften them into fuzzy, vague, gaseous euphemisms, with the idea that making a term less clear somehow removes the ugliness from the truth it refers to.

Some of Carlin’s examples: “False teeth” became “dental appliances.” “The dump” became “the landfill.” “Toilet paper” is now “bathroom tissue.” “Deaf” became “hearing-impaired.”  “Old people” turned into “senior citizens.” “Constipation” became “occasional irregularity.” “Crippled” became “physically-challenged,” then “differently-abled.”  And his sharpest observation of all: the clear, direct World War I term “shell shock”  morphed into “battle fatigue,” then became “post-traumatic stress disorder.”  He observed that people erroneously believe that by softening the words, the pain goes away.  But they're only fooling themselves. He said if we still called it “shell shock,” maybe the soldiers who needed help would have actually gotten it.

The Democrats in Congress and the media can fall on the fainting couch at the word “spying;” they can call it “inappropriate surveillance” or “uninvited observing” or “confidential surreptitious curiosity” or whatever they like.  But by this point, they’re only fooling themselves, not the public or the Attorney General.

A round-up of offensive idiocy

By Mike Huckabee

I try not to fall into the trap of commenting on every outrageous thing said or tweeted by Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, the Moe, Larry and Curly of leftism.  But since I do want to help keep you informed, here’s the latest round-up of offensive idiocy, just from the past 48 hours…

https://dailycaller.com/2019/04/11/tlaib-ilhan-omar-racist-911-attack/

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/aoc-faces-backlash-for-telling-war-vet-crenshaw-he-should-go-do-something-about-domestic-terror

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/omar-cites-george-w-bush-ground-zero-bullhorn-speech-in-latest-twitter-spat

I think this stuff is so self-evidently outrageous, offensive and beneath contempt that I will show restraint and make just two observations:

1.  Friday, the Democratic House majority celebrated their 100th day in office by hobnobbing with liberal celebrities at a posh retreat in Virginia, having passed no legislation to help Americans in general.  But between the three newbies mentioned above and veterans such as Adam “Russian collusion is real!” Schiff, Jerry “Subpoena everyone while slandering Candace Owens” Nadler and Maxine “Didn’t know the government took over student loans in 2010” Waters, their signature accomplishment has been to prove that having the IQ of a house plant is no longer an impediment to serving in the United States Congress.

2.  You may be numbed to this level of offensive and defensive stupidity by 2020, but it’s never too early to mark your calendars for Election Day of that year, as a reminder to take time off work and go stand in line to correct the Great Mistake of 2018.

Democrats in denial

By Mike Huckabee

The same liberal politicians and media figures who told us Trump was crazy when he said he’d win the Presidential race (he did), and that he was crazy when he said Trump Tower was wiretapped (it was), and that he was lying about not colluding with Russia (he didn’t) are now claiming that Attorney General Barr is crazy for saying it’s possible that “spying did occur” on the Trump campaign during the 2016 election.

I’ve written about the hysterical “methinks they doth protest too much” responses from several anti-Trump stalwarts such as Chuck Schumer, Jerry Nadler and James Clapper elsewhere today, but here’s a late entry into the Denial Sweepstakes:

Sleazy lawyer Michael Avenatti

By Mike Huckabee

Michael Avenatti might not have liked it when I began routinely identifying him as “sleazy lawyer Michael Avenatti,” but it now appears that I may owe an apology…to sleazy lawyers.  I don’t want them to sue me for defamation for associating them with Michael Avenatti.

Even with the herculean effort required to grant him a presumption of innocence, it’s getting harder with each passing day to keep a straight face when he claims he’s a victim of politicized prosecutors out to get him for attacking President Trump.  If so, there must be a lot of Trump-voting prosecutors in unlikely places.  First, Avanatti was indicted in New York for allegedly trying to extort $25 million from Nike.  Then he was indicted in California on wire and bank fraud charges for allegedly misappropriating a client’s legal settlement for himself.
