NFL encourages players to stand (sort of)

November 30, 2017

Facing an exodus of fans that’s left football stadium crowds looking like the turnout at a Martin O’Malley for President fundraiser, the NFL is reportedly desperate enough to offer players $89 million to stand up during the National Anthem. It’s not a straight-up bribe to pretend to show respect for America, but a promise to donate that much over seven years to help African-American communities.

As this article notes, the question is which charities will get the money. There are many that are truly worthy. But if they copy the donations of the protest’s founder, Colin Kaepernick, they’ll be giving to such heavily-politicized groups as a pro-DACA organization and a black revolutionary who’s hiding out in Cuba to avoid facing justice for murdering a New Jersey State Trooper. I know NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is baffled by the negative reactions of the League’s customers thus far, so I’m going to help him out here: If the NFL gives millions of dollars to illegal immigrants and cop killers, most NFL fans are not going to like that. To be clear, I said: “Not.”

You've go that right, Mike....NOT! Is the operative word here! Don't like them disrespecting our country, our flag and all our Patriots! Getting bribed to show respect is disgusting! They are a pack of cry baby, whiners! Been boycotting all season....will continue even if the "Fake Stand" for the Anthem!

The operative word in your article was "pretend." They have shown their true sentiments toward our country already and what they do in the future would just be to pretend. Too little too late.

I believe there are many who have discoved that they have a life outside of football. I don't think the NFL will recover any time soon. People are just sick of it all.

Won't work. No sincerity. Untilt the players who knelt ALL personally alologize and admit what they did is wrong the fans, including myself are done. WE ARE NOT FOR SALE. NO NFL BUYOUT IS GONNA WORK. AMERJCA, OUR FANS, OUR FLAG AND OUR VETERANS ARE ABSOMUTELY NOT FOR SALE...PERIOD. For years American Big Business has been buying itself out of trouble. How about some real moral values for a change.
