Any Democrats who voted for Joe Biden in the primaries because they wanted a pragmatic, principled, bipartisan candidate who would work across the aisle to promote America’s best interests definitely bet on the wrong horse. They should have voted for former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, whom the DNC tried to keep off the debate stage.

I’ve talked to her several times on my show and always found her to be an intelligent and well-spoken advocate for her positions, but also a gracious debater who’s willing to listen to other views and find common ground. If the Democratic Party is ever to save itself from the insane, identity-politics-obsessed, neo-socialist radical left that’s taken it over, then Tulsi Gabbard would be both a good leader to turn to and a great example of how to conduct themselves.

Latest case in point: Gabbard is once again bucking her Party mates in calling on President Biden to pressure Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot to step down. You could make that case for a number of reasons, particularly the shocking amount of violent crime that’s been plaguing Chicago for far too long. But while Democrats can turn a blind eye to that, their own obsession with racism should force them to demand Lightfoot’s resignation.

Yes, she’s an African-American woman, which would make most Democrats terrified to criticize her, no matter how justified. But she recently announced that she would grant interviews only to non-white reporters. Gabbard tweeted that her “blatant anti-white racism is abhorrent” and “our leaders must condemn all racism, including anti-white.” (Former Trump advisor Boris Epshteyn pointed out that Lightfoot’s ban is also anti-Asian, anti-Semitic and anti-all other groups that include people with pale skin.)

She’s not just piling on Lightfoot for political opportunism. Gabbard had previously and bravely tweeted, “Please, let us stop the RACIALIZATION of everyone and everything. We are all children of God, and therefore family in the truest sense, no matter our race or ethnicity.”

Amen! That’s the attitude that America, and particularly the Democratic Party, desperately needs more of.

If someone thinks they have the right to call you a racist just because your skin is white, then you have the right to call them a racist because they just proved they are one.
