When the news broke that Billy Graham had died, my first reaction was “Now there’s a real example of ‘Fake News.’” Billy Graham has passed from this life for sure at the age of 99, but he is anything but dead. He is more alive now than ever before, and living a life that will never end.

That was the message of Billy Graham’s life. Didn’t matter if he was talking to Presidents, Popes, Prime Ministers, or ordinary people he stuck to the stuff of a very simple message that we are sinners and Jesus Christ is our hope to be rescued from our sins.

He would be criticized and sometimes held in contempt by the elites and academics for such a simple message, but while the critics came and went, Billy Graham never turned to the right or left, but kept his eye on the Cross.

Columbine survivor introduces legislation

By Mike Huckabee

Talk about shattering the preferred media narrative: Patrick Neville is the Colorado House Minority Leader. In a time when other politicians are trying to use the grief of traumatized children from the tragic mass shooting in a Florida school to pass new gun control laws, Neville has introduced a bill to do away with the laws that force legal concealed carry permit holders to lock their guns in their cars when on school property.

Before anyone starts demanding to know how he can be so unsympathetic to the victims of school shootings, they should know that 19 years ago, he was a sophomore at Columbine High School when two of his classmates went on their infamous shooting rampage. He survived, no thanks to the “gun-free zone” policy on school grounds (for law-abiding people).

His bill has no chance of passing Colorado’s liberal-dominated legislature. But when they reject it, they should at least have to explain why they are ignoring the firsthand wisdom of someone who was an actual victim of America’s most notorious school shooting.

What "blue wave" leadership looks like

By Mike Huckabee

When President Trump reportedly used a scatological term to describe certain countries (note: he denies it, and the entire story is based on the word of a Democratic politician with a known history of lying about what Republicans said in private meetings), it seemed obvious from the alleged context that it wasn’t a putdown of the people of those nations but a reference to the squalid conditions imposed by bad governments. To most objective observers, it seems an obvious truism that really awful government can turn even the most beautiful place in the world into a “bleep”-hole.

On a completely unrelated topic, here’s a story about a UC-Berkeley study that found that the streets of San Francisco are now so littered with discarded drug needles and human feces that they are less hygienic and more contaminated with bacterial and viral diseases than the worst slums of Brazil, India or Kenya.

But by all means, let’s have a “blue wave” and put leftists in charge of the entire country. (Unless “blue wave” refers to a big dose of Cheer detergent for San Francisco’s sidewalks, no thanks).

Tax info

By Mike Huckabee

Just in case you live in one of those places whose government has you longing to relocate, here’s a story that will help you avoid jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire. It’s a study that determined which states have the highest and lowest tax burdens. The list of most-taxed states probably won’t surprise you. In fact, so many people are leaving the top tax states that the final tax residents have to pay is the premium U-Haul charges for moving vans because they’re almost all headed one-way: outta-here!

Couldn't Mueller find ONE Republican?

By Mike Huckabee

It’s been known for some time that the team assembled by special counsel Robert Mueller to look into collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign (and “related matters”) leaned Democrat. But it’s worse than we thought. The Daily Caller News Foundation has taken a closer look at the political donations given by these individuals, on both the federal and state levels, and what they found is really quite stunning.

This is the first time the political affiliations of the entire team have been reported. Out of 16 lawyers Mueller chose for his team, not one is a registered Republican. (One lawyer, Zainab Ahmad, appears to have registered at age 18 as a Republican, but later rethought that decision and became unaffiliated.) Thirteen are registered Democrats, and the other three don’t specify a party affiliation.

Memo to Jeff Sessions

By Mike Huckabee

President Trump has signed a memo instructing Attorney General Jeff Sessions to propose regulations banning bump stock devices that convert legal semi-automatic rifles into fast-firing automatic rifles. There are also proposals afloat to ban “assault weapons” or raise the legal age to buy semi-automatic rifles to 21, since the Florida school shooter was 19 and bought his weapon legally.

Considering the widespread demonization of the NRA and Second Amendment advocates, you might be surprised at how little opposition to the bump stock ban you’re hearing. That’s because most responsible gun owners don’t buy such devices, and they understand that the ban will be just as useless as all the other proposals currently being stampeded through legislatures with such urgency.
